Robert T. Miller
LEWISTOWN - Robert T. Miller, 80, a resident of Beverly Healthcare-William Penn, Lewistown, formerly of Ryde, died at 7:20 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2000, at the nursing home. Born Oct. 28, 1919, in Ryde, he was the son of the late Thomas C. and Elva I. (Moist) Miller. His wife, Winifred (Moist) Miller, died Nov. 4, 1995. Surviving are: sons, Richard T. Miller, Mattawana and D. Jay Moist, Ryde; brothers, Christopher K. Miller, Toledo, Ore. and Ferman L. Miller, McAlisterville; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson. He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II. He was a self-employed truck driver for 40 years. He was a member of the McVeytown Lodge 376 F&AM. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Harshbarger Funeral Home, 3 S. Market St., McVeytown, with the Rev. Marian E. Hartman officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Mattawana. Family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. today at the funeral home, where masonic services will be conducted by the McVeytown Lodge 376 F &AM.

Edward Martin Miotla Sr.
LEBANON - Edward Martin Miotla Sr., 81, of 212 S. Fifth St., Lebanon, died at 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 30, 2000, at his residence. Born Nov. 9, 1918, in Cleveland, Ohio, he was a son of the late Alexander and Petronela (Shultek) Miotla. His wife, Dorothy P. Miotla, died Aug. 9, 1987. Surviving are: children, Edward Miotla Jr., Mrs. Dane (Joyce) Berry, and Donna Wagner, all of Baltimore, Md., Mrs. Lewis (Edrica) Leggs, Millington, Md., Mrs. Steven (Fran) Zalek, York Haven, and Roberta Miotla, Lebanon; stepchildren, James S. Gephardt, Baltimore, Md. and Margaret Gephardt, Belleville; 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by children, Mary Ann Worth in 1998 and Douglas Martin Miotla in 1960, and a brother, Joseph Miotla. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He was a laborer for Metz Hatchery (fish farming), Belleville, retiring in 1980. He was Catholic by faith. He was a member of the VFW Post 5935, Belleville and the American Legion, Hummelstown. A memorial service will be held at noon Thursday at the Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham. Interment will follow in St. Mark's (Alfarata) Cemetery, Lewistown RR3, Decatur Township, with full military honors conducted by VFW Post 7011, Lewistown. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to: Hospice of Lebanon County, PO Box 1281, Lebanon, PA 17042-9933. Christman's Funeral Home Inc., 226 Cumberland St., Lebanon, is in charge of arrangements.

Veronica A. Miriello
BURNHAM - Veronica A. Miriello, 70, of 319 Seventh Ave., Burnham, died at 8:10 a.m. Monday, July 10, 2000, at Lewistown Hospital. Born Jan. 20, 1930, in Mt. Carmel, she was a daughter of the late Andrew and Sophie (Pevarnik) Fallat. Her husband, Joseph J. Miriello, died in 1972. Surviving are: children, Ralph E. Miriello, Joseph J. Miriello, Andrew R. Miriello, and Mrs. Troy (Anita) Powell, all of Lewistown, Mrs. Randy (Joann) Loht, McClure, Mrs. Douglas (Ramona) Pully and Monica J. Miriello, both of Burnham; sister and brother, Mrs. John (Mary) Rooney, Trenton, N.J., and Frank Fallat, Mt. Carmel; and 11 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. She was a homemaker and had been employed as a waitress at the Birch Hills Supervisor's Club, Burnham. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 106 N. Dorcas St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Father Thomas Marickovic officiating. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Cemetery, Kulpmont. There will be no public viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mifflin-Juniata American Cancer Society, 26 N. Brown St., Lewistown, PA 17044. Heller-Hoenstine Burnham Funeral Home, 108 First Ave., Burnham, is in charge of arrangements.

Diane 'Penny' Mitchell
LEWISTOWN - Diane "Penny" Mitchell, 52, of 10 W. Fourth St., Lewistown, formerly of 9363 US Highway 522 S, died at 11:57 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 25, 2000, in the emergency room of Lewistown Hospital. Born Aug. 14, 1948, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Ralph W. and Edna (Cavanaugh) Park. Her husband, Charles W. Mitchell, whom she married June 23, 1973, survives. Also surviving are: children, Kristina N. Richardson, 999 Marshall Road, Vacaville, Calif., and Paul E. Mitchell, 12 W. Fourth St., Lewistown; brother and sister, Glenn Park, Akron, Ohio, and Mrs. Lee (Peggy) Noll, Newport; and two grandsons. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters. She was a 1966 graduate of Lewistown High School and of the Empire Beauty School. She was a homemaker and co-owner of Heckman Beauty Shop. She was a member of the Centre Union Church and an active member of the 4-H for 25 years and served on the Fair Board. She was associated with the Old Acres Kennels and a member of the Mifflin County Dog Training Club. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown, with the Rev. Leon R. Clayberger officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Linda J. Mitchell
LEWISTOWN - Linda J. Mitchell, 35, of Box 255, Lewistown RR3, died at 7 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2000, at her residence of natural causes. Born March 23, 1965, in Lewistown, she was a daughter of Charles K. Corson of Church Lane, Lewistown and the late Betty J. (Royer) Corson, who preceded her daughter in death on June 2, 1989. Her husband Danny Mitchell, whom she married in 1982, survives. Also surviving are: children Victoria and Daniel Mitchell, both at home, and a brother, David Corson, Lewistown. She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister. Services will be held at 8:45 p.m. Monday at Barr Funeral Home, 120 Logan St., Lewistown, with the Rev. George Mark officiating. Interment will be private. Friends may call from 7 p.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Margie C. Mitchell
LEWISTOWN - Margie C. Mitchell, 76, of 97 Squaw Hollow Road, Lewistown, died at 7:40 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 16, 2000 at Beverly Healthcare William Penn, 163 Summit Drive, Lewistown. Born Oct. 22, 1924 in Lewistown, she was a daughter of the late Emmett F. Royer and Mildred R. (Wolfley) Royer. Her husband Blaine A. Mitchell preceded her in death on June 27, 1998. Surviving are: Gary E. Mitchell, Avondale; brothers and sisters, Emmett B. Royer, 316 Strodes Run Road, Lewistown, Carl F. Royer, Strodes Mills and Pauline M. Barlett, Burnham and two granddaughters. She worked as a production employee for 23 years at Wyeth-Ayerst Laboratories, West Chester, having retired from the company in 1983. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, Lewistown, with the Rev. Marian Hartman officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park, Lewistown. Friends may call from 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 501 Howard Ave., Bldg. D Suite 101, Altoona, PA 16601.

Marie E. Mitchell
THREE SPRINGS - Marie Elizabeth Mitchell, 86, formerly of Three Springs and for the last five years of Port Royal RD1, died at 1:50 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, at Lewistown Hospital. Born April 19, 1914, in Belleville, she was a daughter of the late Amos Walter and Esther Violet (Rutherford) Fultz. Her husband, Walter L. Mitchell, whom she married on Nov. 15, 1935, preceded her in death on June 8, 1968. Surviving are: children, Norma Snyder, Three Springs, Joanne Bickel, Mapleton, Anna Mae Waters, Hustontown, Irvin Mitchell, New Castle, DE, Paul Mitchell, Donlow, WV, Thomas Mitchell, Mapleton, George Mitchell, Three Springs, Peggy Towsey, Port Royal and Richard Mitchell, Three Springs; step-children, Eugene Mitchell, Fayetteville, NC and William Mitchell, Three Springs; one sister, Mariam Woodcock, Sunbury; 45 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren and 25 great-great-grandchildren. One step-son, two step-daughters, one brother and two sisters preceded her in death. She was a homemaker and member of the Three Spring Assembly of God. Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, Orbisonia. Interment will be in Duvall Cemetery, Six Mile Run. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Monday at the funeral home.

George T. Moeller
MIFFLINTOWN - George T. Moeller, 83, a resident of Brookline Manor Nursing Home, Mifflintown, formerly of 119 N. Walnut St., Lewistown, died at 6:05 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 17, 2000, at the nursing home. Born July 22, 1917, in Lewistown, he was the son of the late Oscar and Helen (Hawke) Moeller. His wife, Julia R. (Cella) Moeller, died in 1984. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Michael (Susan) Gross, Egg Harbor Township, NJ and Mrs. Michael (Marlene) Sausman, Pittsburgh. He was preceded in death by a brother, Donald Moeller. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. Early in life, he was employed by Lewistown Transportation, and later by the American Viscose Corporation and Mann Edge Tool Co. He was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church. He was an avid jazz musician, who played for the Harry Crimmel Orchestra & The Ambassadors. He was a former member of the BPOE Elks Lodge 663, Lewistown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, with the Rev. Father Lawrence R. Coakley and Deacon John A. Rocco officiating. Interment will be in Juniata Memorial Park. Friends may call 10-10:45 a.m. Wednesday at Heller-Hoenstine Woodlawn Funeral Home, 200 N. Main St., Lewistown.
