Mitchell V. Wicks
(March 15, 1957 - July 27, 2015)

Mitchell V. Wicks, 58, of Canadensis, died Monday evening, July 27, as a result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Barrett Township.

Born on March 15, 1957 in Scranton, he was a son of Mary (Price) Wicks of Canadensis and the late Ivan Wicks.

He was a lifetime resident of Monroe County and self-employed in the dry wall business.

Mitch was an avid fisherman and hunter who loved the outdoors and motorcycles. He enjoyed spending time with his friend Ike at Flying Dollar Airport.

In addition to his mother he is survived by a son, Zachary Montgomery-Wicks; four siblings, Robert Wicks and his wife Melissa and their children, Hope, Timothy, Robert Jr. and Toby; Stephen Wicks and his wife Terressa and his children Laura Beth and Aaron; Trish Mahoney and her husband Mike and their children Nevin, Conor and Ellie; and Penny Wicks; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his twin brother, Timothy Wicks.

Memorial visitation will be from 2:00 to 4:00PM on Saturday, August 1, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. A celebration of life will begin at 1:00PM on Sunday, August 2, at Martinville in Canadensis. Cremation was private.

Memorial donations may be made to Clark Funeral Home to help defray funeral expenses.

Samantha C. Agins
(September 18, 1992 - August 11, 2015)

Samantha C. Agins, 22, of Tannersville, passed away Tuesday, August 11, at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia. She died in an attempt to save another life.

Born on September 18, 1992 in East Stroudsburg, she was a daughter to Bruce G. Agins, Jr. of Stroudsburg and Paula L. (Wahrmann) Agins of Tannersville and was a lifetime resident of Monroe County. She was a student at East Stroudsburg University majoring in biology/pre-med.

She was involved in the Big Brother and Big Sister Program. Was a Nationally Certified EMT and worked at the Minisink Hotel as a bartender.

Samantha was always trying to help people in some way, so it is no surprise that even after her death she will continue to help people by being an organ and tissue donor and donating her hair to locks of love.

In addition to her parents she is survived by, two sisters, Sara E. Agins and, Kayla N. Agins both of Tannersville; maternal grandfather, Paul Wahrmann and his wife Marianne of East Stroudsburg; maternal grandmother, Lois Wahrmann of Stroudsburg; paternal grandparents, Gary and Edna Agins of Bartonsville; maternal great-grandmother, Violet Kromer of Bangor; boyfriend, David Shaw of Marshalls Creek; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be from 12:00 (noon) to 2:00 pm, Monday, August 17, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg, PA. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, with Rev. Dr. Thomas E. Richards, officiating.

Private cremation will have already taken place at the H. G. Smith Crematory, Stroudsburg.

Merle Marvin
(January 15, 1924 - November 7, 2015)

Merle Marvin, 91, of Canadensis, died Saturday morning, November 7, 2015. She was the widow of Lester D. Marvin who died August 19, 2011.

Born on January 15, 1924 in Glenside, Merle was the daughter of the late Raymond and Nellie (Seese) Loeb and lived on Seese Hill in Monroe County for almost her entire life.

She was the beloved matriarch of a devoted family whom she treasured and who treasured her. Through her tutelage, love, and support, her children became teachers, an electrical engineer and lawyer.

She was a life-long member of the Moravian Church of Canadensis. Merle loved children and taught Bible School in Barrett Township every summer for more than 60 years.

Surviving are one daughter, Denise Keiling of Canadensis; and three sons, Douglas Marvin of Fairfax, VA, Lester C. Marvin of Wyalusing, and Daniel Marvin of Canadensis and 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Loeb.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00AM on Saturday, November 14, at the Moravian Church of Canadensis with Rev. Gregg C. Schafer officiating. There will be no viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to the Moravian Church of Canadensis, P.O. Box 209, Canadensis, PA 18325.

Ruth Lynn Zacher
(August 1, 1924 - September 4, 2015)

Ruth Lynn Zacher, 91, died Friday, September 4, at The Court of Palm Aire in Pompano, Beach, FL.

Born on August 1, 1924 in Philadelphia, she was raised in the New York City and Boston areas. She was the youngest of four children to the late Jacob and Sadie (Weisman) Krauss, who were Russian immigrants. She graduated from the Jeremiah Burke High School for girls in Dorchester, MA. Ruth was living in NYC when she met her future husband Leon Zacher from East Stroudsburg; and they were marriage in 1949. Ruth moved to East Stroudsburg, where she and Leon owned Zacher's, a retail clothing store in East Stroudsburg until Leon's death in 1982. She then worked at the 14 Karat Outlet in Stroudsburg for many years until she retired at age 82. She relocated to Florida in 2011 where she lived until her death.

Ruth is survived by her children, Diane Zacher and Robert Zacher, their spouses Howard Gelman and Marieke Zacher, and her four grandchildren, Max, Sonia, Zach and Ilana. She is also survived by her sisters-in-law Rose Heifetz, Fran Mason, Ruth Krauss and her many nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to Sam Newman and family for their many years of support.

Ruth's family and friends will miss her dearly.

The funeral service will begin at 11:00AM on Wednesday, September 9, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. Burial will follow at Dalton Jewish Cemetery. There will be a gathering for all at 3 pm at Temple Israel of the Poconos, 711 Wallace St, Stroudsburg.

In holding with Jewish tradition, no flowers will be accepted.

Frances L. Vail
(August 12, 1926 - September 6, 2015)

Frances L. Vail, 89, a resident of Masonic Village at Lafayette Hill, and formerly of Lake Manzanedo, East Stroudsburg, passed away early Sunday morning, September 6, 2015.

Born on August 12, 1926 in East Stroudsburg, she was the oldest daughter of the late Estella (Repsher) and Robert VanVliet. Frances was marriage to Lynn Vail, who passed away in September 2011, for 61 years. She previously resided in Green Brook and Cape May Courthouse, NJ.

A graduate of East Stroudsburg High School Class of 1943, Frances worked for Line Material (now Cooper Industries) in East Stroudsburg during World War II, and also worked at Village Inn and Mountain Lake House both in Marshalls Creek.

She was a member of Analomink United Methodist Church, Order of the Eastern Star Monroe Chapter 99, National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution - Jacob Stroud Chapter; and Manzanedo Rod and Gun Club. She was a past President, having served in the 1960s, of the Green Brook Chapter of The Garden Club of New Jersey.

Her joy was her family, and she is survived by her four children, Deborah Rogers and her husband, William of Wildwood Crest, NJ, Robert Vail and his wife, Susan Marsheck of Fallston, MD, Rebecca McAndrews and her husband, Mick of Downingtown and Timothy Vail and his wife, Lisa of Parks, AZ; four grandchildren, Teal-Rebecca Robinson of Cape May Court House, NJ, Dylan Rogers of Cape May Court House, NJ, Kelly McAndrews of Wilmington, DE and Connor McAndrews of Philadelphia; five great grandchildren, Andrew, Estella, Teagan, Catherine and Laney; and a sister, Roberta Eppley of Lafayette Hill. Her sister, Grayce Edinger, preceded her in death.

Visitation will begin at 10:00AM followed by the funeral service at 11:00AM on Thursday, September 10, at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. The Rev. Ken Beldon will officiate. Frances will be laid to rest in Analomink United Methodist Churchyard in Analomink.

Memorial remembrances may be made to the Analomink United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 461, Analomink, PA 18320.

Lillian M. Wyckoff
(January 5, 1919 - September 9, 2015)

Lillian M. Wyckoff, 96, of Bartonsville, died Wednesday morning, September 9, at Golden Living Center in East Stroudsburg. She was the widow of Fred Wyckoff, Sr. who died December 28, 1997.

Born on January 5, 1919 in Morristown, NJ, she was the daughter of the late William and Olive (Wythe) Baldwin.

Surviving are a son, Fred Wyckoff and his wife, Margaret of Bartonsville; five grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Hilda Stella and three brothers.

Cremation will be private.
