Betty Richards
(January 13, 1921 - May 23, 2016)

Betty Richards, 95, of Stroudsburg, passed away on Monday, May 23, in the St. Luke's Hospital, Anderson Campus, Bethlehem. She was the wife of the late Gwilym Thomas Richards who died on July 8, 1989.

Born on January 13, 1921 in Pentre, Wales, United Kingdom, she was the daughter of the late David and Mattie (Evans) Jones and had lived in Monroe County since 1984. She worked for American Home Products and was a Presbyterian preschool teacher assistant.

She was a lifelong Presbyterian and was an Elder and Deacon. A member of the First Presbyterian Church of Stroudsburg, she was a member of the Presbyterian Women. She was also active in the Order of the Eastern Star where she was Past Matron in Yonkers, NY.

She is survived by her two daughters, Dorothy Marino and her husband, Robert of East Stroudsburg and Diane Kazimir and her husband, Robert of Caldwell, NJ; grandchildren, David Kazimir of Overline, OH, Nancy Bivona and her husband, Alex of Flanders, NJ, Robert D. Kazimir of Caldwell, NJ, Emily Marino of East Stroudsburg and Gregory Marino of East Stroudsburg; great grandchildren, Zachary Bivona, Michaela Bivona and Arianna Bivona; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Eirwen Kollarik.

There will be a visitation on Thursday, May 26, from 6:00pm - 8:00pm with prayers at 8:00pm at the William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main St., Stroudsburg. Graveside services and burial will be held on Friday, May 27, at 11:00am in the Hollywood Memorial Park, Union, NJ.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 4 at 11:00am in the First Presbyterian Church of Stroudsburg, 575 Main St., Stroudsburg with the Rev. Dr. Stuart T. Wilson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances may be made to the First Presbyterian Church of Stroudsburg Organ Restoration Fund, 575 Main St., Stroudsburg, PA 18360.

Robert L. Morman, Sr.
(February 24, 1926 - May 5, 2016)

U.S. Veteran
Robert L. Morman, Sr., 90, died Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Gino Merli Veterans Center in Scranton where he was a resident. He was the husband of the late Evelyn R. (Luckey) Morman.

Born on February 24, 1926 in Port Jervis, NY, he was a son of the late Louis and Bessie (Schultz) Morman.

He served in the United States Army from 1943 to 1945.

Robert was an auto truck mechanic all his life and did mechanical work and snow plowing for Stroud Township from where he retired.

After retirement he enjoyed model railroad trains.

Surviving are two children, Robert L. Morman, Jr. and his wife Linda and Beth C. Klausman and her husband Dale all of East Stroudsburg; four grandchildren; a brother, William B. Morman and his wife Marie of Nazareth; and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Steven E. Morman and two brothers, Victor L. Morman and Richard L. Morman.

Viewing will begin at 1:00PM followed by the funeral service at 2:00PM on Monday, May 9, at William H. Clark Funeral Home, 1003 Main Street, Stroudsburg. The Rev. Edmund Freeborn will officiate. Burial will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg.

In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances may be made to American Heart Association, 968 Postal Road, Suite 110, Allentown, PA 18109.

James Smith, Sr.
(August 18, 1932 - June 20, 2016)

James Smith, Sr., age 83, of Pocono Summit, passed peacefully home to his Lord, on Monday, June 20, 2016 at home with his family by his side.

Born on August 18, 1932, in Monroe County, he was the son of the late Clint and Blanch (Keiper) Smith. He was a lifelong resident of the Poconos; graduated from Tobyhanna Township High School in Pocono Pines.

He worked as an electrician at East Stroudsburg University for 25 years before retiring. He also worked at Tobyhanna Army Depot and Johnson’s Electric. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. He enjoyed most of his time in his garage building, tinkering, and fixing many projects along the way. He was a founding (life) member of the Pocono Summit Volunteer Fire Company for 56+ years. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Loyal Order of Moose, and Mount Pocono United Methodist Church. He lived to help his family, friends, and service his community in every way possible. He loved teaching many things to his great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Kathryn J Smith and their son, James Smith Jr. and his wife Wendy of Pocono Summit, a daughter, Dolly Bonser and her husband William of Bushkill, and two other sons Carl Gottschall and his wife Marianne of Brussels, Belgium, and Earl Gottschall of East Stroudsburg. Also, surviving are his grandchildren Tiffanne Stackewicz, James Smith III (JR), and four other grandchildren Adam Bonser, William Bonser Jr., Donald Frantz and Christopher Gottschall; in addition two great-grandchildren, Allison and Alexander Stackewicz. He is also survived by a sister, Esther Siewert of New Jersey, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many many friends.

James devoted his life to being a good husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother even though he was a stubborn man.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Ed and Boyd Smith, and sisters, Charlotte Wildrick and Francis Wheeler.

Private Services are being held at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations should be made in his honor to Pocono Summit Volunteer Fire Company at P.O. Box 400, Pocono Summit, PA 18346.

Tracy L. Devore Halterman
(February 6, 1979 - June 19, 2016)

Tracy L. Devore Halterman, 37, of Wooddale, passed away Sunday morning, June 19, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Born on February 6, 1979 in East Stroudsburg, she was a lifetime resident of Monroe County.

She was a member of the East Stroudsburg Presbyterian Church.

Tracy is survived by her mother, Barbara (Miller) Halterman of Wooddale; her best friend, Amber; her very best friend, Maxwell "Max", her dog; her every day walking companion, Jean Warner; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Marland Halterman.

There will be no services and cremation was private.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clark Funeral Home.

Thomas J. Dello Russo, Sr.
(November 12, 1951 - June 13, 2016)

Thomas J. Dello Russo, Sr. ("Deacon Tom"), 64, of Bushkill and formerly of Brick NJ, died suddenly Monday morning, June 13, 2016 at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest in Allentown.

Born on November 12, 1951 in Montclair, NJ, he is the son of Agnes (Russomano) Dello Russo of Brick, NJ and the late Nicholas Dello Russo.

He attended and graduated 1969 from Brick Township High School, graduated from Ocean County College in Toms River, NJ, and attended Georgian Court College in Lakewood, NJ.

Thomas worked as supervisor of the Brick Township Public Works until retiring after 33 years of service. While living in Brick, NJ, he was an active member of the community and served as Deacon of the Church of Epiphany. He and his wife moved to Bushkill in 2005 and continued serving as a Deacon at The Church of St. John in Marshalls Creek. He was a teacher's aide and football coach at East Stroudsburg North High School until 2015.

He loved coaching sports and enjoyed fishing and was passionate about cooking.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of 43 years, Suzanne (McCann) Dello Russo; a daughter, Nicole Porth and her husband John of Bushkill; two sons, Thomas J. Dello Russo, Jr. and his wife Leila of Toms River, NJ and Christopher Dello Russo and his wife Stephanie of Stroudsburg; four grandchildren, Cariel, Jacob, Lillian and Luke; three sisters, Linda Morris, Marie Norcia and her husband Tony, and Terri Dello Russo; parents-in-law, Lee and Shirley Clayton of Brick, NJ; and a large loving extended family including numerous nieces and nephews.

Viewing hours will be from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00PM on Thursday, June 16, at The Church of St. John, 5171 Milford Road (village of Marshalls Creek), East Stroudsburg. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM Friday, June 17, at the church with Rev. Gregory A. Reichlen as celebrant. Burial will follow at Laurelwood Cemetery in Stroudsburg.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in his name to Mady's Angels www.madysangels.org.
