Howard G. Schattauer

Howard G. Schattauer, age 79, of North Hills, on Wednesday June 4, 2003. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on June 15, 1923 the son of the late Frank and Marie (Hering) Schattauer. Howard worked as a Postal Clerk and later worked in Special Delivery for the U.S. Postal Service. He also was a licensed funeral director doing hearse and limousine livery service working with many funeral directors throughout the years. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend and will be sadly missed by his many friends and neighbors. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty L. (Schramm) Schattauer; two sons, Dave (Sandy) Schattauer and Jack (Kim) Schattauer, both of McCandless; a sister, Martha Graham of West View; and two grandchildren, David and Leslie Schattauer, both of North Hills. Family will receive friends Thursday 7-9 pm and Friday 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Schellhaas Funeral Home Inc., 388 Center Avenue, West View where service will be held on Saturday at 1:00 pm with Pastor Michael Robinson officiating. Interment will follow is Allegheny County Memorial Park, McCandless. If desired memorials may be made to St. Johns Ev. Lutheran Church, 920 Perry Highway, Pittsburgh, PA 15229.

John T. Wunderlin

John T. Wunderlin, age 66 of Laurel Gardens, on Monday, June 2, 2003 in Shadyside Hospital. Born on March 28, 1937, son of the late Frank and Mary (Miller) Wunderlin. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wuderlin was preceded by a brother, Howard. Mr. Wunderlin is survived by his wife of 41 years, Sue Wunderlin of Laurel Gardens; a daughter, Sherri (Lou) Kostante; two brothers, Dan (Renea) Wunderlin and Ken (Jamie) Wunderlin; four grandchildren, Dylan, Amber, David and Ashley; three brothers, Richard, Robert & Michael Wunderlin and three sisters, Mary Stande, Carol Bates & Peggy Bachman. Friends are invited to a memorial service in Faith Lutheran Church, Laurel Gardens on Sunday, June 8, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. Family suggests donations to the Animal Rescue League, 6620 Hamilton Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15206. Isabel M. Folmer

Isabel M. Folmer, age 89, of Ross Township, on Friday May 30, 2003 at Vincentian Home in McCandless. She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on January 18, 1914, the daughter of the late John R. and Anna (Henry) Miller. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Folmer was preceded in death by her husband, John Alex Folmer and her son, John Allan Folmer. She is survived by her daughter in law, Sandy Folmer; 4 grandchildren, Melissa Folmer, Melinda Meyers, John Allan Folmer Jr. and Vicki Lynn Folmer; 4 great grandchildren and a nephew, Lewis L. Miller. Mrs. Folmer was employed by Sears & Roebuck as an Accountant for 30 years and was a member of the Sears Retirement Club. She was a member of the Community House U.P. Church (formerly First Allegheny United Presbyterian Church) where she volunteered at the Church as their Accountant. Mrs. Folmer also volunteered for over 20 years at Mercy Providence Hospital. Family will receive friends SUNDAY 2-4 & 7-9 pm at the Schellhaas Funeral Home Inc., 388 Center Avenue, West View where services will be held on Monday at 12:30 pm. with Rev. Dr. David Antonson officiating. Interment will follow in Union Dale Cemetery.

Shawn M. Froehlich

Shawn M. Froehlich, age 20 of West View, on Wednesday, May 28, 2003. Born in Pittsburgh on January 13, 1983, he is the son of Michael and Erin (Bissontz) Froehlich of West View. In addition to his parents, Shawn is survived by his daughter, Rebekah L. Froehlich; a brother, Alan R. Froehlich of West View and his grandparents, Joseph and Eileen Froehlich of West View and Charles and Susan Bissontz, III of Avalon. Also survived by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Clara D. Brady

Clara D. (Oldham) Brady, age 91 of Reserve Township, on Wednesday, May 28, 2003 in Vincentian Home, McCandless Township. Born in Pittsburgh, PA on May 2, 1912, she is the daughter of the late Frank P. and Bertha (Hosenfeld) Oldham. Beloved wife of the late Warren Brady; sister of the late Virginia Billock and sister-in-law of the late John Billock. There will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial in St. Aloysius Church on Saturday, May 31, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. William Rutledge, Pastor Emeritus, officiating. Clara was a retired School Principal at the Mary Jane Crowley School and a well-known resident of Mt. Troy-Reserve Township for over 50 years. She was a very generous, giving person who supported numerous charities and organizations over the years. Clara was very actively involved in St. Aloysius Parish and a member of its Christian Mother's/Women's Guild. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and neighbors. Thomas R. DeLuca

Thomas R. DeLuca, age 89, formerly of Bradenton, FL on Saturday, May 24, 2003 in UPMC Passavant Hospital, McCandless Township. Born October 23, 1913 in Italy the son of the later Gidesa and Maria Vallera DeLuca. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved wife for 62 years Anna R. Pennline DeLuca who passed away on March 11, 2003 and one sister Algie DeSabitino. Survivors include his daughter Barbara Corso Truchan of Economy Boro; one son Thomas J. DeLuca of W. Palm Beach, FL; 6 grandchildren, Michele Corson, Michael Corso, Rachelle DeLuca, Thomas DeLuca, Lisa DeLuca and Christy DeLuca; 4 brothers, Tony DeLuca, Jesse DeLuca, Al DeLuca and Joseph DeLuca. Services and Interment were held at the convenience of the family by Schellhaas Funeral Home, West View.

Hilda M. Sweeney

Hilda M. Sweeney, age 92, of North Side, on Thursday May 22, 2003. Born July 9, 1910 in Pittsburgh Pa the daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Hoffman Hague. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her beloved husband Harry J. Hores, Sr, her son Harry J. Hores Jr., two brothers Samuel and Ken Hague and a sister Elizabeth Lenz. Survivors include her sons Glenn (Martha) Hores of Clarion Co. and Ken (Mary Lou) Hores of Ross Twp.; Grandchildren Kenny Hores, Pamela Clouner, Gwynn Boyer, Kathleen Hores and Glenn W. Hores also survived by 6 great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Schellhaas Funeral Home, Inc. 388 Center Avenue West View on Sunday and Monday 2-4 7-9 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Incarnation Parish Nativity Worship Site on Tuesday at 10:00 am with Fr. John Bachkay officiating. Michael J. Hogan, Sr., age 49, of Ross Township, on Wednesday, May 14, 2003. Beloved husband for 26 years of Linda (Wagner) Hogan. Devoted father of Stacey L. & Michael J. Hogan, Jr. Loving son of Carmella & the late John A. "Jack" Hogan. Dear brother of John A., Jr. (Linda) of Cranberry Township, Vincent J. (Deborah) of McCandless Township, Dennis R. (Beverly) of Etna, Wayne P. (Millie) of West View, and Lynn Hogan Webster (Wally) of McCandless Township, brother-in-law of Robert Litterini of Bellevue. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Mike was the co-owner of Triple H. Printing, Inc. He was the Varsity Lacrosse Coach at North Hills High School, Scorekeeper of North Hills Varsity Softball, longtime coach in the North Hills Athletic Association and West View Ross Athletic Association, he was a member of Local #94 Pittsburgh Pressman and an active associate of the Pittsburgh Senior News. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, golfer and loved all sports. Family will receive friends Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m., at the Schellhaas Funeral Home, Inc., 388 Center Avenue, West View. Ann Patricia Hyman

Ann Patricia Hyman, 80, of Gibsonia, came to rest with her Lord, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, May 11, 2003. Beloved mother of Mark (Patricia) of Upper Saint Clair, Gary of Mount Vernon, Ohio, and Laura (Joseph) Walsh of Gibsonia, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin, sister Josephine, father and mother Peter and Petranella Shimitis, and daughter-in-law Deborah. Seven loving grandchildren, Heather, Jamie, Ben, Mollie, Aaron, Carrie and Annie, five step-grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren survive her. She is also fondly remembered by her niece, Judith, of Pasadena, California, and numerous cousins in Chicago, Illinois, and Newbury Park, California. Born Anna Patricia Shimitis in St. Charles, Illinois, April 15, 1923, she began a dancing career in her teen years and performed throughout North America and Mexico as an acrobatic dancer with a professional dance troupe. During that time, she met her husband Ben, a professional drummer, and they were married March 16, 1946. Ann and Ben resided in Louisville, Kentucky, where Ann became one of the top Tupperware managers in the United States. In 1962, Ann and Ben moved their family to Gibsonia, and for many years owned and operated the former Tupperware distributorship, Hy Sales, near Butler. She will be warmly remembered for her kind heart, sincere care for others and affectionate love for her family. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service and mass to celebrate the life of Ann Patricia Hyman will be held at St. Richard Catholic Church, 3841 Dickey Road, Gibsonia, Pennsylvania 15044 on Thursday, May 15, 2003 at 12:00 noon. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Hospice of Greater Pittsburgh, 3520 Route 130, Suite 3001, Irwin, Pennsylvania 15642, or to St. Richard Catholic Church.

Anna M. (DeGonish) Loughery

Anna M. (DeGonish) Loughery, age 88 of West View, on Monday, May 12, 2003. Born in Hazelkirk, PA, on January 1, 1915, daughter of the late Basil and Mary (Gada) DeGonish. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Loughery was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Loughery. Mrs. Loughery is survived by two daughters, Lorraine L. Herrmann of Zelienople and Dorothy (Bill) Warrene of West View and two brothers, Charles Degonish of McCandless Township and Michael Degonish of Florida. Grandmother of Lorraine (Michael) Cardwell of Florida, Tony Herrmann of Reserve Township and Amy Reisinger and Michael (Kate) Herrmann of Zelienople. Also survived by 5 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 14, 2003 from 2-8 p.m. at Schellhaas Funeral Home, Inc., 388 Center Avenue in West View. Services will follow visitation Wednesday evening at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Strobel officiating. Interment in North Side Catholic Cemetery.

Esther McMaster

Esther McMaster, age 83 of the North Side, on Saturday, May 3, 2003. Born August 6, 1919, in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Sadie Hirshman Meyers. Mrs. McMaster is the beloved mother of Edward, George and Esther Kaiser and Jane Skinner; sister of Richard and Leroy Meyers and Betty Jane Lebo.
