Robert B. Bollen

Robert B. Bollen, age 86 of Ross Township, died Thursday, August 8, 2002 at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township. Born in Millvale, PA, he was the son of the late Amos B. and Elsie (Schaefer) Bollen. In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Verna E. (Maegli) Bollen; a brother, Chester Bollen and a grandchild, Samuel Robert Bollen. Mr. Bollen is survived by three daughters, Barbara Smith of Annapolis, MD, Nancy Podany of Ross Township, Patricia Murray of Cedartown, GA, and a son, Robert Bollen of Baden, PA; two brothers, Homer Bollen of West View and Edward Bollen of Franklin Park and a sister, Jane Frank of West View. Also survived by 8 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. He was a member of North Hills Lodge #716 F.& A.M., NACO Caravan, Syria Temple, St. Luke's Leisure Years, a life long member of St. Luke's Ev. Lutheran Church, where he served on the Vestry many times throughout the years. Bob was a pioneer with WDTV in Pittsburgh and later for DuMont where he installed most of the television stations during the 1950's throughout the United States and in Lima, Peru and Switzerland. This led him to later employment with Visual Electronics and the Hammond Organ Company. In his later years, he started his own business called, "The Harmony Organ Service" where he worked on organs in many homes but primarily for various churches. Family will receive friends SUNDAY 1-4 pm and MONDAY 2-4 & 7-9 pm. at the Schellhaas Funeral Home Inc., 388 Center Avenue, West View "A Pursuit of Excellence Award Firm" www.schellhaasfh.com. Services will be held at the St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 305 Center Avenue in West View on Tuesday at 10:30 am. (Please meet at church). Interment will follow in Allegheny County Memorial Park, McCandless Township. If desired memorials may by made in Bob's name to St. Luke's Lutheran Church, 305 Center Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15229.

Jessie Elter

Jessie Elter, age 90, of West Deer Twp., Gibsonia, died on Saturday, August 17, 2002. Born on October 31, 1911 in Pittsburgh, PA, she was the daughter of the late Michael & Mary Woznicki. Beloved wife of the late Leonard Elter. Dear mother of Mary Eleanore Szwedko Rose of Oakmont, Leonard J. Elter of Huntingtown, MD, John Elter of Richland Twp., Philomena Kramer of West Deer, Michael Elter of West Deer, Catherine Pechar of Burgettstown, PA, Raymond Elter of West Deer and the late Rita Pavlak. Sister of Joseph Woznicki of Blawnox, Helen Firle of Sandy Lake, Jennie Irwin of Pittsburgh, and Mary Farruggia of Cleveland, Ohio. Also numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, daughter and parents she was preceded in death by three sisters Stella Ammer, Rosaila Srcic, and Philomena Spehar. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday 10:00 a.m. in St. Victor Catholic Church Bairdford Road, Bairdford. Fr. Bartley Sorensen will officiate. Interment in St. Mary's Sharps Hill Sharpsburg. Mrs. Elter was a member of St. Victor Catholic Church and a resident for over 50 years of West Deer Twp area. If desired memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.

Dr. Gregory C. Connell

Dr. Gregory C. Connell, age 72, of North Hills, on Monday, September 23, 2002 in UPMC Passavant Hospital. Born November 19, 1929 in Pittsburgh, he was the beloved son of the late Clyde B. and Frances (Meyer) Connell. Dr. Gregory was a dentist in the North Hills and a member of Highland Country Club. Loving husband of Jane (Soffel) Connell, and loving father of Gary Connell and his wife Ann of Denver, and Mark Connell and his wife Chau, of New York City. Also survived by four grandchildren, Paul Connell and Sadie Connell of Denver and Christopher Connell and Caitlin Connell of New York, NY. Anna M. (Kaminski) Buskirk, age 80, of Ross Township on Wednesday August 21, 2002. Born October 3, 1921 in Pittsburgh PA the daughter of the late Frank and Ursula Jankowski Kaminski. In addition to her parents Mrs. Buskirk is preceded in death by her beloved husband Wilmer D. Buskirk. Survivors include her two sons Fred J. and David J. Buskirk both of Ross Township; one daughter Marianne Mathews; also survived by seven grandchildren Diane, Bobby, Becky, Ben, Peter, Steven and Elizabeth. Harry R. Dietrich

Harry R. Dietrich, 84 of Ben Avon Heights, died Saturday, July 27, 2002 at Suburban General Hospital. Born April 3, 1918 in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Albert Dietrich and the late Adele Dietrich. Harry was Owner of Broadway Chrysler in McKees Rocks for over 42 years. Surviving are his wife, Eleanor Dietrich, 1 Son, Robert H. Dietrich of Ben Avon Heights, a Brother Edward Dietrich of Tennessee. Preceding him in death was a son Edward Paul Dietrich. Also survived by one sister June Lengwin and 5 grandchildren Eugene, Katelynn, Lisa, and Angela Bogart and Allison Turner. William F. Binkert

Born on May 11, 1936 in Pittsburgh, he was the beloved son of the late Alfred W. and Elsie (Voellger) Binkert. Loving father of William and Candy (Mellinger) Binkert Jr. of North Side and Michael R. and Vinessa (Checketts) Binkert of Leechburg. Also survived by 5 grandchildren. William was a United States Marine in the 1950's and was employed as a security officer for Allied Security.
