He was a former accountant at the Navy Ships Parts Control Center, Mechanicsburg, and was a member of Christ Community Church and the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Harrisburg. Surviving are his mother, Shirley H. DeStito of Enola; three brothers, Terry A. of McSherrystown, Michael A. of New Cumberland and Jeffrey S. of Carlisle; and two sisters, Cynthia D. Nale of Enola and Barbara A. Shoop of Altoona. Services were held Nov. 4 in Richardson Funeral Home, Enola. Burial was in Rolling Green Memorial Park, Camp Hill. HELEN J. DIFFENDAFER Helen Jane Diffendafer, 88, of Millerstown died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill. She was a former teacher in the Greenwood School District, Millerstown; a member of Highland United Presbyterian Church, Newport; and enjoyed sewing and working in the yard. Surviving are a nephew, Thomas Diffendafer of Pittsburgh and a niece, Betsy Ann Ryan, both of Pittsburgh, and two very good friends, John Gelnet and Sue Croce, both of Millerstown. Dobyns, 68, of Liverpool RR 2 died Saturday, Sept. 25, 1999 at home. He was born April 13, 1931 in Perry County to the late William and Esther (Reisinger) Dobyns. He was retired from PennDOT; a Protestant; and member of Newport Social Order of Owls and Newport Moose. Surviving are his wife, Ruth Frye Dobyns; a son, Donald E. of Newport; two daughters, Dauris J. Henry of Carlisle and Donna Zeiders of Enola; two brothers, William of Newport and Jack of Liverpool; and a grandchild. Services were held Sept. 30 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport, with pastor James Neimond officiating. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery. Donovan,84, of New Bloomfield, formerly of Warren, died Friday, May 7,1999 at home. She was born Jan. 1, 1915 in Warren to the late Cyrus and Grace (Brothers) Siegfried. She retired as a secretary from Warren State Hospital. She was the widow of Fred L. Donovan, who died in1982. Surviving are two daughters, Judith Litwin of Scappoose, Ore., and Lane Partner of New Bloomfield; a son, Timothy of Flowery Branch, Ga.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services were held May 10 in Guss Funeral Home, Mifflintown, with the Rev. Douglas Kelley officiating. Graveside services were held May 11 in Oakland Cemetery, Warren, with the Rev. Lawrence F. Doyle, 90, formerly of Wormleysburg, died Monday, June 28, 1999 at her daughter's home. She was a member of Stevens Memorial United Methodist Church and Pride of White Block Lodge 411. She was the widow of Alfred E. Doyle. Surviving are a daughter, Vicki Kay Beaver of Saville Twp.; a brother, Charles Kreitzer of West Fairview; two sisters, Anna Mae Sherman of Harrisburg and Ellen Sherbrooke of Pelican Rapids, Minn.; a grandson; and two great-granddaughters. Box 147, Blain 17006. ALBERT DRAKE SR. Albert Drake Sr., 73, of Eisenhower Blvd., Duncannon, died Monday, Sept. 20, 1999 at home. He was born Dec. 28, 1925 in North Scituate, R.I. He worked for the state Department of Transportation; was a Navy veteran of World War II; and a member of Duncannon VFW Post 255. Surviving are his wife, Pauline Stinchfield Drake; three sons, Albert Jr. of Marysville, Donald of Duncannon and Michael of Littleton, N.H.; a daughter, Debra Fisher of Duncannon; two brothers, Milton and Loyd, both of North Scituate, R.I.; and five grandchildren. LEROY A. DRESSLER Leroy A. Dressler, 79, of McAlisterville RR 1 died Thursday, April 8, 1999 in Polyclinic Hospital, Harrisburg. He was born Nov. 21, 1919 in Delaware Twp., Juniata County, to the late Lehman and Anna M. (Losch) Dressler. He had worked at Hawstone Brick Refractories, Lewistown, as a oven tender, at W.L. Haubert Construction and John Groninger Construction, both of Mexico, Pa., and as a master block, brick and stone mason throughout the states on union construction; was an Army veteran overseas with the 93rd Evac Hospital Unit during World War II; a past commander of VFW Post 5049, Millerstown, before transferring to VFW Post 34, Newport, where he recently was awarded life membership in the VFW of the United States; past governor and current trustee of Moose Lodge 925, Millerstown, where he was awarded membership in the Moose 25 Club; a member of Moose Lodge 41, Keystone, American Legion Post 177, Newport, and the Newport Social Order of Owls; and a Methodist. He was the widower of Florence Rusho Dressler, who died Feb. 6, 1986. Surviving are a companion, Anna Mae Sheaffer of Newport; two sons, Duval D. of Mechanicsburg and Lowell L. of Port Royal RR 1; a daughter, Gloria J. Kepner of Port Royal RR 1; 21 half-brothers and half-sisters; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his stepmother, Bertha Pfaff. Services were held April 12 in Sheaffer Funeral Home, McAlisterville, with the Rev. Frank J. Swartz officiating. Burial, with military honors, was in Maze Cemetery, Thompsontown RR 1. DROMGOLD William Lynn "Drummy" Dromgold, 100, of Kinkora Pythian Home, Duncannon, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 1999 at the home. He was born May 10, 1899 in Saville Twp. to the late Howard and J. Annie (Hench) Dromgold. He was retired from Atlantic Richfield and was a former substitute mail carrier from the Duncannon Post Office. He was a graduate of New Bloomfield High School and attended Penn State University, studying electrical engineering. He was a member of Duncannon's Otterbein United Methodist Church, a Sunday school teacher and superintendent for 22 years, choir member, former trustee and lay delegate; past president of Duncannon Borough Council; board member of Perry County Sunday School Association; member of Shermanata Grange and Harrisburg Rose Society; former chairman of Tri-County United Fund and camp director of Perry County Christian Endeavor; former EMT and driver for Duncannon EMS and in 1988 was the oldest EMT in the state; active in Boy Scouting in Duncannon for 72 years, former Boy Scoutmaster of Troop 64 for 42 years and scout committee coordinator; founder of Boy Scout Recycling Program; and recipient of the Silver Beaver Award in Scouting; and a great outdoorsman who climbed Peters Mountain in his 90s with the scouts. He was the widower of Annie Myers Dromgold. Surviving are a sister, Dorothy Mowrer of Lancaster, two grandsons, Karl Libhart of Boalsburg and William Libhart of Mountville; and three great-grandsons. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Virginia Libhart, and brothers and sisters. Services were held Dec. 8 in his church with the Rev. Michael Brossman officiating.
