ROBERT D. HOCKENBERRY
Robert Dorman Hockenberry, 95, formerly of Loysville, died Sunday, July 15, 2001 at Thornwald Home, Carlisle.
He was born April 7, 1906 in Bellwood to the late R. Bruce and Lottie (Loudon) Hockenberry.
He was a lifelong schoolteacher in the West Perry School District, a principal in the Bedford County School District and assistant county superintendent in the Warren County School District; a graduate of Shippensburg University and attended Columbia and Penn State universities for graduate work; an Army veteran of World War II; a member of Tressler Memorial Lutheran Church, Loysville, Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, American Legion Post 177, Newport, the Masons and VFW; and a former member of the Lions Club.
He was the widower of Laura J. Johnson Hockenberry, who died May 15, 1994.
Surviving are nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Doris J. Hockenberry.
Services were held July 18 in his church with the Revs. Donald L. March and Henry A. Lutz officiating. Burial, with military honors by New Bloomfield VFW Post 7463, was in Blain Cemetery.
Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, handled arrangements.

ROY N. HULTZAPPLE
Roy N. Hultzapple, 93, of Newport RR 4 died Friday, March 30, 2001 in Perry Village Nursing Home, New Bloomfield.
He retired from H.R. Wentzel Sons Inc. and the state Department of Transportation and was a retired farmer; and a member of St. Samuel's Lutheran Church.
Surviving are his wife, Lucy Arentz Hultzapple, and a daughter, Bonnie K., at home.
Services were held April 3 in Myers Funeral Home, Newport. Burial was in Newport Cemetery.

SAMUEL H. HENRY
Samuel H. Henry, 81, of Mel Ron Court, Carlisle, died Thursday, March 1, 2001 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
He was born Nov. 1, 1919 in Perry County to the late Ira Milton and Clara Ellen (McNaughton) Henry.
He had been employed by Reeves-Hoffman, Carlisle, for 16 years; was the former owner of Henry's Western Wear on Spring Road, Carlisle; a graduate of Newport High School; an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War, retiring after 21 years in 1960 as a master sergeant and having participated in D-Day in France and earning the Bronze Star and Purple Heart; former track and field PIAA official and volunteer for the Carlisle cross country team as a timer; attended Bethel Assembly of God Church, Carlisle; a founder in the Carlisle area for REACT; former past commander of American Legion Post 101, Carlisle; and a social member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Carlisle.
He was the widower of Alice C. Price Henry, who died Sept. 6, 1996.
Surviving are his wife, Helen E. McClintock Henry; a son, Mark S. of Carlisle; two stepsons, John L. Smith of Mechanicsburg and Dale E. Smith of Shippensburg; two daughters, A. Christine Kutz of Carlisle and Sharon L. Dorsey of Gardners; a sister, Minnie Wright of Newport; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Services were held March 6 in Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, with pastor Charles Kish officiating. Burial, with military honors, was in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.

VIOLET E. HARRIS
Violet E. Harris, 79, of Millerstown RR 1 died Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2001 at home.
She was born June 14, 1921 in Oliver Twp. to the late Harvey and Alice (Stohr) Dudley.
She had worked in the former Newport Fashions dress factory and was a member of St. Samuel's Lutheran Church, Newport, and its Pollyanna Class.
She was the widow of Gerald E. Harris.
Surviving are three sons, James E. of Newport, Gerald E. of Hummelstown and Richard A. of Millerstown; two daughters, Patricia L. Clouser of Millerstown and Doris E. Gelbaugh of Mechanicsburg; six brothers, Lenus, Wilbur, Elwood, Charles, Robert and James Dudley, and a sister, Miranda Burd, all of Newport; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara Ann Harris.
A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 17, in her church with the Rev. Irene Frieburg-Dussaq officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery, Millerstown.
Myers Funeral Home, Newport, is handling arrangements.

VIOLA M. HARHAGER
Viola M. Harhager, 83, of Loysville RR 2 died Thursday, May 17, 2001 in Carlisle Hospital.
She was born Nov. 2, 1917 in Newport.
She was a retired security guard for Westinghouse Electric, Sharon; a member of Sandy Hill United Church of Christ and the Eastern Star; a former Girl Scout leader; and enjoyed hunting, fishing and crafts.
She was the widow of Samuel Fleet Harhager.
Surviving are two nephews, Larry A. Latchford of Loysville and Paul W. Latchford of Harrisburg.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., May 26, at Perlo Ridge, Loysville, with the Rev. Levain Fouse officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens, Sharon.
Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, is handling arrangements.

WILLIAM J. HOUSEWORTH
William J. "June" Houseworth, 47, of Richfield RR 2 died Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2001 at home.
He was born June 10, 1953 at Richfield RR 2 to the late William Ellsworth and Helen Irene (Seiler) Barner-Houseworth.
He attended Aline United Methodist Church, Mt. Pleasant Mills RR 1, and enjoyed playing horseshoes, hunting and fishing.
Surviving are his wife of 11 years, Teresa Ann Maneval Houseworth; a son Chad Allen, and a daughter, Nicole Ann, both at home; a brother, Lester Lee of Richfield RR 2; a half-brother, Paul Barner of New Jersey; and a sister, Catherine Marie Spade of Millerstown RR 2.
Services were held Feb. 10 in Aline United Methodist Church with pastor James E. Lewis officiating and the Rev. Franklin Trego assisting. Burial was in the church Cemetery.
Garman Funeral Home, Mt. Pleasant Mills, handled arrangements.

EDNA E. INCH
Edna Emma Inch, 95, of Penn Lutheran Village, Selinsgrove, formerly of Mount Pleasant Mills, died Friday, April 20, 2001 in the nursing home.
She was born Sept. 16, 1905 at Oriental, Juniata County, to the late David B. and Emma J. (Kerstetter) Strawser.
She was a homemaker and member of Emmanuel United Methodist Church, Mount Pleasant Mills and attended Chapman Community Chapel, Port Trevorton RR 1.
She was the widow of William Walter Inch, who died Jan. 20, 1950.
Surviving are two sons, Theodore A. of Elizabethtown and Charles E. of Port Trevorton; six daughters, Edna Shaffer of Middleburg RR 4, Esther Blaine of Steelton, Emma Brouse of Mount Pleasant Mills RR 1, Dollie Wyland of New Kingstown, Arla Neitz of Mechanicsburg and Edna Arlene Feltman of Richfield; 39 grandchildren; 78 great-grandchildren; and 64 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by five sons, Howard (1993), Harvey (1991), Jacob Sr. (1995), Elwood (1994) and Glenn (1936 in infancy); a daughter, May (1928); two brothers, Roy Strawser and another brother at birth; two sisters, Mary Miller and Arla Kline; two grandchildren, Pauline Brouse and Jacob Inch Jr.; a great-grandchild, Marilyn Rice; and a great-great-grandchild, Mindy Jo Rice.
Services were held April 25 in Richfield Mennonite Church with pastor Jerry R. O'Connell officiating. Burial was in Fairview Cemetery, Mount Pleasant Mills.

EDWARD M. JONES
Edward Mann Jones, 69, of Silver Spring Twp. died Monday, May 21, 2001 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
He was born Sept. 5, 1931 in Mechanicsburg to the late Williams S. and Elizabeth (Rife) Jones.
He was owner/operator of Ed's Quality Cars, Carlisle, and formerly was employed by TRW and AMP, Inc.; and a member of Young's United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg, Antique Auto Club of America, Gettysburg Region, Pennsylvania Dutch Chapter of the Hudson Club of America, Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Association and the Model A Restorers Club.
Surviving are his wife, Glenda M. Jones; three sons, Edward M. Jr. of Mechanicsburg, Jay Eugene of Duncannon and Steven Frank of Shermans Dale; four daughters, Mary Kay DeBoard of Dillsburg, Pamela Sue Fleegal of New Bloomfield, and Brenda May Tripp and Tina E. Schimmer, both of Mechanicsburg; a brother, William M. of Carlisle; a sister, Helen V. Vogelsong of Mechanicsburg; his mother-in-law, Mildred Walters of Carlisle; 20 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services were held May 25 at his church with the Rev. Ronald C. Hoffman officiating. Burial was in Longsdorf Cemetery, New Kingstown.

RODNEY P. MCCLURE
Rodney P. McClure, 53, of Liverpool RR 2 died Tuesday, March 27, 2001 in Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
He was born Jan. 6, 1948 in Lewistown to the late Paul R. and Maude G. (Ehrenzeller) McClure.
He was employed as a commercial artist in the advertising department of The Patriot-News, Harrisburg, and previously had worked for Aurand's for Sports, Lewistown; a 1966 graduate of East Juniata High School, Cocolamus, and a 1968 graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh; a member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Liverpool, Susquehanna River Waterfowlers, Ducks Unlimited, Hunter's Valley Sportsmen's Association and Newport Order of the Owls; and enjoyed hunting and bass fishing.
Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Inez G. Cox McClure; a son, Matthew J. of Liverpool RR 2; and a sister, Brenda Guyer of Mexico.
Services were held March 30 in Sheaffer Funeral Home, Millerstown, with the Rev. James R. Bramer officiating. Burial was in Emmanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Thompsontown.
