CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Brett Miller Ray, infant son of Russell T. "Rusty" and Karen K. Stomps Ray of 990 Leidig Drive, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pa.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers at home, Adam K. Ray and Alexander C. Ray; maternal grandparents, Thomas F. and Sharron L. Mesojednik Stomps of Severna Park, Md.; paternal grandparents, Russell W. and Frances S. Ray of Mount Airy, Md.; aunts; uncles and cousins.

Memorial service and burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to March of Dimes, 550 Cleveland Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.

Jeanne L. Hockensmith

HARRISONVILLE, Pa. - Jeanne Louise Hockensmith, 61, of 1583 Little Egypt Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Feb. 11, 1939, in Brownsville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Albert and Grace Fulton O'Neill.

She was a medical office manager in Washington, D.C.

She was a member of Presbyterian Church in Brownsville.

She is survived by her husband, Richard P. Hockensmith, whom she married in March 1970; a daughter, Deena Louise Hofstetter of Glenelg, Md.; a son, William Albert Hockensmith of Fort Collins, Colo.; a stepson, Richard Harold Hockensmith of Jessup, Md.; and five grandchildren.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Sipes Funeral Home in Harrisonville. Pastor Roger Truax will officiate. Burial will be in Sideling Hill Christian Cemetery in Needmore, Pa.

Visitation will be today from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.; and Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Walter H. Hedrick

McCONNELLSBURG, Pa. - Walter H. Hedrick, 71, of 19 Hillside Estates, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at Fulton County Medical Center.

Born Nov. 7, 1928, in Bethlehem, Pa., he was the son of the late Herbert and Beulah M. Berger Hedrick.

He worked as a mechanic at Letterkenny Army Depot, retiring in 1983.

A veteran of the Korean War, he served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of Corner Independent Church in Big Cove Tannery, Pa.

He was a member of VFW Post 655; and American Legion Post 561 of McConnellsburg.

He is survived by his wife, Clara Ella Harr Hedrick, whom he married Sept. 8, 1951; a daughter, Ruth A. Brubaker of Knobsville, Pa.; two sons, Walter H. Hedrick Jr. of Summerfield, N.C. and Clair E. Hedrick of Big Cove Tannery; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister and four brothers.

Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 322 N. 2nd St. in McConnellsburg. The Revs. Donald Bard and Christian Elliott will officiate. Burial will be in Laurel Ridge Cemetery, with military services by Fulton Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home, which will open at 2 p.m. Visitation also will be Friday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to American Heart Association, 225 E. King St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Donald H. Davis

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Donald H. Davis, 74, of 377 Elder St., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born June 1, 1925, in Letterkenny Township, Pa., he was the son of the late Benjamin and Ida Myers Davis.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel M. Pittman Davis, in 1983.

He retired from the H.J. Heinz Co. in Chambersburg after 33 years. He worked for nine years at South Mountain Restoration Center in South Mountain, Pa., retiring in 1988.

A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.

He was a member of King Street United Brethren Church in Chambersburg.

He is survived by a daughter, Lori A. Pippenger of Waynesboro, Pa.; three sons, Roger D. Davis at home, Donald L. Davis of Radcliffe, Ky. and Virgil J. Davis of Chambersburg; five sisters, Mildred Berger of Mercersburg, Pa., Louise Gontz of Fayetteville, Pa., Betty Sellers of Fort Myers, Fla., June McLaughlin and Ida Jean Hamilton, both of Chambersburg; two brothers, Robert Davis of Chambersburg and Jack Davis of Greencastle, Pa.; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Benjamin H. Davis; and a brother, Harold Davis.

Services will be Friday at 10 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Lester F. Stine will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery in Chambersburg, with military services by Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday at 9 a.m. at the funeral home.

Robert L. Burkholder

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Robert L. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah U. Heckman Burkholder, in 1985.

He had been a self-employed truck driver for 60 years first doing general hauling and then livestock.

He was a member of Solomon's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Chambersburg.

He was a member of Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Third Branch Canton; AARP Chapter 1507 of Chambersburg; a former member of Eagles Inc. of Waynesboro, Pa.; and BPO Elks Lodge 600 of Chambersburg.

He is survived by four daughters, Geraldine V. Baer, Doris E. Dull, Joanne B. Bingaman and Shelva J. Stoops, all of Chambersburg; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister and a brother.

Services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Solomon's Evangelical Church, Chambersburg. The Revs. Michael E. Allwein and Peter W. Emig will officiate. Burial will be in Grindstone Hill Cemetery in Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home in Chambersburg.

Memorial donations may be made to Solomon's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4856 Wayne Road, Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Shirley A. Tressler

Born Dec. 24, 1927, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Frank L. and Catherine L. Barlup Chen.

She attended Waynesboro schools.

She was employed as a machine operator by Clair Frock Clothing Co. in Thurmont for 30 years, retiring in 1989.

She is survived by a son, Robert E. Tressler Jr. of Waynesboro; two sisters, Patsy Wustner of Odgen, Utah and Constance Carson of Gettysburg, Pa.; a brother, Robert Chen of Twenty-Nine Palms, Calif.; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Jean Bowman; and a grandson.

Graveside services will be Saturday, May 20, at 10 a.m., at Bethel Church Cemetery in Cascade. The Rev. Richard A. Seaks will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Franklin County Area Agency on Aging, 218 N. Second St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Arrangements are by Cumberland Valley Crematorium, Waynesboro.
