Born Jan. 21, 192,1 in Hastings, Fla., she was the daughter of the late Tommy and Betsy Dillard Thompson.

She worked at Hutchison Seafood Co., Indian River County, Fla., for many years. She also operated several food businesses, including fish and vegetable sales.

She was a member of Greater Good News Church of God in Christ, Chambersburg, where she was a mother of the church.

She was a member of Spruce Park Lodge Order of Eastern Star, Vero Beach, Fla.

She is survived by a daughter, Breccie L. Adams of Chambersburg; a son, Arthur L. Williams at home; a sister, Rose Butler of Vero Beach; step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; step-great-great-grandchildren; three nephews, great-nieces and nephews; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Cora Wheeler; a sister and a brother.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Greater Good News Church of God in Christ, 601 S. Main St., Chambersburg. The Rev. Edgar L. Scott will officiate. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the church.

Arrangements are by Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home Inc., Chambersburg.

Iva M. Barnett

HUSTONTOWN, Pa., - Iva Mae Barnett, 91, of Memory Lane, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, March 4, 2000, at Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, Pa.

Born April 9, 1908, in Clear Ridge, Pa., she was the daughter of the late William and Malinda Jane Edwards Strait.

She was a homemaker.

She is survived by three daughters, Madelene Ulsh of RD, Three Springs, Pa., Genevieve Cutchall of Danville, Pa., and Gayle Barnett of Dudley, Pa.; six sons, Gerald Barnett of Marietta, Pa., Clair Barnett of Dudley, Harty Barnett of Harrisonville, Pa., Clarence E. Barnett Jr. and Karl Barnett, both of Hustontown, and Gary Barnett of Danville; a sister, Juanita Hockensmith of Harrisonville, Pa.; 43 grandchildren; 87 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Barnett Sr.; a daughter, Patricia Mellott; four sisters and seven brothers.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at M.R. Brown Funeral Home, Hustontown. The Rev. Kevin Wade will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery, RD, Harrisonville.

The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the services.

Clair L. Atherton

MERCERSBURG, Pa. - Clair L. Born Jan. 24, 1965, in Chambersburg, Pa., he was the son of Donald E. Atherton of Greencastle, Pa., and the late Mildred Coons Atherton.

He was last employed Asphundt Tree Service of Waynesboro, Pa., and he worked in construction for Laurich Builders of Chambersburg.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Barbara E. Kees Atherton, whom he married Dec. 13, 1997; a son, Zachary E. Kees of Mercersburg; two stepsons, Joshua A. McIntyre and Matthew R. McIntyre, both of Waynesboro; stepmother, Sophia Harnish Atherton of Greencastle; maternal grandmother, Irene Coons of Shippensburg, Pa.; four sisters, Violet Koons, Teresa Atherton Chilcote and Ruby Atherton, all of Mercersburg, and Tina Niswander of St. Thomas, Pa.; and two brothers, Chester Atherton and Perry Atherton, both of Mercersburg.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jerry L. Atherton and his twin, Clay L. Atherton and a sister, Billie Jo Atherton.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home Inc., 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg. The Rev. Robert E. Timmons will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

Viewing will be Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Patsy J. Barrick

FANNETTSBURG, Pa. - Patsy J. She was employed at the former I.T.T. Domestic Pump, Shippensburg, Pa.

She was a member of Carrick United Methodist Church, Metal Township, Pa.

In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, John F. Barrick, a resident of Falling Spring Nursing and Rehab Center, Chambersburg, whom she married June 19, 1962; two brothers, Clarence E. Naugle of Mt. Hope and Theodore C. Naugle of Shade Gap; nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at John L. Agett Funeral Home, 18875 Main St., Dry Run, Pa. The Revs. Ted Hale and Karl R. Herman will officiate. Burial will be in Spring Run Cemetery, Spring Run, Pa.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

Amon of Chambersburg; two sons, Zachary Lynn Group of Chambersburg and Ryland Group of Greencastle; a sister, Joanne J. Forrester of Chambersburg; two brothers, Ronald D. Group of Chambersburg and Richard Z. Group of Ft. Loudon, Pa.; and 12 grandchildren.

Bernadine E. Myers

She attended Waynesboro schools.

She was a homemaker. She was employed in her early life by Penn Supreme as a waitress and then was a cook and waitress at the Elks Club and then at the VFW as a cook, all in Waynesboro.

She was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 1758 Ladies Auxiliary, Waynesboro and National AARP.

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Paul E. Myers, a resident of Falling Springs Nursing Home, whom she married Sept. 10, 1947; two daughters, Patricia A. Clark and Karen S. Hargrave, both of Waynesboro; three sons, Paul E. Myers of York, Pa., Dennis C. Myers of Mercersburg, Pa., and John W. Myers of Waynesboro; three sisters, Lucille Gerhold and Leola Myers, both of Waynesboro, and Aurelia Baker of Greencastle, Pa.; two brothers, Ordean Snowberger of Fayetteville, Pa. and Kenneth Snowberger of Waynesboro; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. The Rev. Roger K. Myers will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
