WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Patricia K. Born Aug. 25, 1931, in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Kathryn Mulholland Ginter.

She was a 1953 graduate of Delone Catholic High School.

In her early life, she was employed at Snyder's Potato Chip Plant in Hanover, Pa. She then, along with her husband, owned and operated Stardust Lounge on West Sixth Street in Waynesboro for several years.

She was a member of Saint Andrew Roman Catholic Church in Waynesboro.

She was a member of Atomic Veteran's Association in Waynesboro.

She is survived by her husband of more than 43 years, Ray E. Smetzer; two sons, Andrew A. Smetzer of Waynesboro and Robert E. Smetzer of Clear Spring; four grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph E. Ginter.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Father Thomas J. Hemler will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery near Quincy, Pa.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 1758 Cancer Fund, P.O. Box 227, Waynesboro, PA 17268.

Louise J. Hutsler

MARION, Pa. - Louise J. Daley Hutsler, 85, of 285 Colorado St., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, at her home.

Born April 26, 1914, in Coseytown, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Oliver and Mary Shennebeck Daley.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey F. Hutsler Sr., in 1974. They were married Aug. 29, 1941.

She attended Coseytown School.

She was a homemaker.

She was a member of Heidelberg United Church of Christ in Marion.

She is survived by a daughter, Nancy E. McGinnis of Marion; a son, Dewey F. Hutsler Jr. of Chambersburg; a sister, Jessie Miller of Maugansville; a brother, Richard Daley of Hagerstown; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three sisters, Grace Shatzer, Annie Rudolph and Hilda Hoffman; and a brother, Paul Daley.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Heidelberg United Church of Christ, 166 Colorado St. in Marion. Pastor John A. Toms will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery in Chambersburg, Pa.

The family will receive friends Thursday one hour prior to services at the church.

Memorial donations may be made to Heidelberg United Church of Christ, 166 Colorado St., Marion, PA 17235; or Greencastle Senior Center, 10615 Antrim Church Road, Greencastle, PA 17225.

Gladys R. Evans

HAMBURG, Pa. - Gladys R. "Dolly" Evans, 69, of Laurel Nursing Home, and formerly of 6349 Greenbrier Lane, Fayetteville, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, at Laurel Nursing Home, where she had lived for three and a half years.

Born Jan. 8, 1930, in Teaneck, N.J., she was the daughter of the late George C. and Gladys Wagner Brinkerhoff.

She was a 1948 graduate of Hackensack High School in Hackensack, N.J.

She was a homemaker and formerly worked as a secretary for Lederle Labs (pharmaceutical) in Middletown, N.Y., from 1956 to 1960. From 1953 to 1955, she worked for Line Material of Harrisburg, Pa.; and from 1948 to 1951, for Mutual of New York (Mony) Insurance Company in New York City.

She was a member of New Guilford Brethren in Christ Church in Chambersburg, Pa.

She is survived by her husband, Ralph H. Evans Jr., whom she married July 22, 1950; a son, David S. Evans of Hanover, N.J.; a sister, Lois Hanson of Oakville, Canada; and a grandson.

Services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at New Guilford Brethren in Christ Church, 1575 Mont Alto Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Robert D. Verno will officiate. Burial will be in New Guilford Cemetery, Chambersburg.

There will be no viewing; however, the family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home in Chambersburg.

Memorial donations may be made to New Guilford Brethren in Christ Church, 1575 Mont Alto Road, Chambersburg, PA 17201.

John Davidson

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - John "Jack" Davidson, 75, of 2647 St. Paul Road, and formerly of 2118 Hillview Drive, Fayetteville, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Sunday, Sept. 5, 1999, at Chambersburg Hospital in Chambersburg.

Born Aug. 3, 1924, in Bushmills County Antrim, Northern Ireland, he was the son of the late Sarah Ross Davidson.

He retired in 1986 from Smith-Kline-Beecham Pharmaceuticals in Philadelphia after 34 years.

He was an active member of Greenwood Hills Gospel Chapel in Fayetteville.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Elder Davidson, whom he married Nov. 26, 1953; a daughter, Carol Lynn Brant of Burlington, N.J.; a son, Thomas James Davidson of Shippensburg, Pa.; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

Services will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.

Visitation will be Wednesday one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

The family requests the omission of flowers.

Mark R. Fortner

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Mark R. Fortner, 32, of 655 Wills Drive, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, Sept. 4, 1999, at Chambersburg Hospital. He had suffered serious health problems since 1983 and had been critically ill since January 1999.

Born Aug. 29, 1967, in Hornell, N.Y., he was the son of Robert H. and Thresa Sentner Fortner of Chambersburg.

He had attended Notre Dame High School in Bethlehem, Pa. and Sullivan East High School in Bristol, Tenn., from which he received his G.E.D. in 1986. He graduated in 1987 from Draughon's Junior College in Bristol with a degree in travel and tourism.

He had been employed as a disc jockey, limousine driver and motel front desk clerk.

He had been active in Boy Scouts of America, Little League and high school band.

He had received the Ad Altare Dei award, the highest award given to a Boy Scout of the Catholic faith.

He enjoyed music, electronics and travel.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Brian J. Fortner of Reston, Va.; aunts; uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louis A. and Mildred M. Sentner and Joseph B. and Rose H. Fortner, all formerly of Wellsville, N.Y.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Wellsville. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Wellsville.

A prayer service will be conducted Wednesday at 9 a.m. at J.W. Embser Sons Funeral Home, Inc., 34 W. State St., Wellsville.

Memorial donations may be made to Family House, Attention: Kay J. Bebenek, Manager, 233 McKee Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15213; or Hospice of the Good Shepherd, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17201.
