UPPER STRASBURG, Pa. - Gregory A. Giles, 40, of 9735 Upper Strasburg Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Monday, Jan. 11, 1999, in ManorCare Health Services, Chambersburg, as a result of cancer.

Born Sept. 9, 1958, in Huntingdon, Pa., he was the son of Beverly A. Hoffman Giles with whom he resided and the late Fred F. Giles.

He attended Chambersburg Area Senior High School and received certificates from Franklin County Career and Technology Center in welding and auto body.

He formerly worked as an auto body mechanic for Robinson's Garage and Body Shop, Fayetteville, Pa. He specialized in restoring vintage cars.

He attended Upper Strasburg Bible Church.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by one son, Jesse S. Giles of Redding, Calif.; three sisters, Iris A. Bruno of St. Thomas, Pa., Lisa M. Hege of Shippensburg, Pa., and Beth D. Shifler of Clear Spring; two brothers, Timothy E. Giles of Mechanicsville, Md., and Fred D. Giles of Hagerstown; and 14 nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home, Shippensburg. The Rev. John P. Weyman will officiate. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, West Pennsboro Township.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.

W. Warren Stum

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - W. Warren Stum, 71, a guest of Michaux Manor and formerly of 611 Fairview Avenue, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, at Waynesboro Hospital.

Born April 10, 1927, in Rochester, Pa., he was the son of the late Grace Harrell Stum.

He was a 1945 graduate of Waynesboro High School and attended evening classes at Hagerstown Junior College.

He was employed with Landis Tool Company, Waynesboro, Fairchild Aircraft Company, Hagerstown and retired in 1994 from Frick Company, Waynesboro, as a purchasing agent.

He served in the U.S. Navy.

He was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, where he was a past member of the choir and church vestry.

He was a member of Waynesboro Fish and Game Association, Greencastle Sportsmen Association and Archery Club, Wayne Band, Joe Stickell American Legion Post 15 where he was a past board chairman, and National A.A.R.P.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Crystal L. Miller Stum; three daughters, Tricia K. Stum of Waynesboro, Diane Stum Fekete of Canton, Mich., and Pamela Sanders of Greencastle; one son, Fred Stum of Boulder, Colo.; one sister, Patricia Stum of Littleton, Colo.; two granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad Street, Waynesboro. The Rev. Stephen D. Harris will officiate.

The family will receive friends this evening from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. The family will also receive friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Total Life Center, c/o Waynesboro Hospital, 501 East Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268.

A. Gertrude Norris

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - A. Gertrude Norris, 85, a resident of Falling Spring Nursing Home, and formerly of 5432 Buchanan Trail West, Greencastle, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, at the nursing home.

Born Aug. 3, 1913, in Hampton, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Robert Joseph and Katie Jane Hawkins McKnight.

She was a 1931 graduate of Little Rock High School.

She was a member of Greencastle Baptist Church, Greencastle.

She is survived by one daughter, Jayne H. Clopper of Greencastle; one sister, Myrtle Jackson of Little Rock, Ark.; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four sisters, Estella McKnight, Geneva White, Maimie Wood and Nannie Calloway; and one brother, Benjamin F. McKnight.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Miller-Grove Funeral Home, 521 South Washington Street, Greencastle. The Rev. David F. Rasmussen will officiate. Burial will be in Macedonia Church Cemetery, Antrim Township, Greencastle.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to Greencastle Baptist Church, 2377 Buchanan Trail West, Greencastle, PA 17225.

Pastor Rosalie H. Wharton

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Pastor Rosalie H. Addlesberger Wharton, 76, of 11119 Wharf Road, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, at her home.

Born March 23, 1922, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Merle D. Sr., and Lillian Ressler Addlesberger.

She worked at the Stanley Company, Chambersburg for 13 years. She founded and was the pastor of Refuge Tabernacle Church, Waynesboro. She and her sisters broadcast over WFMD, Frederick, Md., for 13 years and then over WCHA, Chambersburg for 22 years.

She was a member of Refuge Tabernacle Church.

She is survived by four sisters, Betty Negley and Victoria J. Eshelman, both of Chambersburg, Mary E. Myers of Waynesboro, and Armatha H. Skaggs of Jacksonville, Fla.; four brothers, Leonard D. Addlesberger and Carl L. Addlesberger, both of Greencastle, Pa., William C. Addlesberger and Joe D. Addlesberger, both of Waynesboro; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Fahnestock and one brother, Merle D. Addlesberger.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Refuge Tabernacle Church, 11119 Wharf Road, Waynesboro. The Rev. L. Keith Powers and the Rev. Arvin D'Silva will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery near Quincy, Pa.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Refuge Tabernacle Building Fund, c/o Deana McKendrick, 10228 Polidor Road, Waynesboro, PA 17268.

Helen M. Rotz

CHAMBERSBURG, PA. - Helen M. She was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Rotz.

She was employed at the former Stanley Company, Chambersburg, as a seamstress and together with her late husband, farmed in New Franklin and Dufield areas.

She attended New Franklin Assembly of God Church, Chambersburg.

She is survived by one son, Lester R. Rotz of Chambersburg; and one brother, Lester Largent of Marion, Pa.; three grandchildren and one great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Esther Bristow.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at New Franklin Assembly of God Church. The Rev. Sean A. Hinton and the Rev. Willis A. Murray will officiate. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg and Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at New Franklin Assembly of God Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to New Franklin Assembly of God Church, 2355 New Franklin Road, Chambersburg, PA or to Menno-Haven Benevolent Care Fund, 2075 Scotland Avenue, Chambersburg, PA.
