SOUTH MOUNTAIN, Pa. - Darryl Lewis Passmore, 57, of South Mountain Restoration Center and formerly of Clearfield, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, April 23, 1999, at the restoration center.

Born Aug. 1, 1941, in Clearfield, he was the son of the late Lewis J. and Majorie Uncles Passmore.

He was of the Roman Catholic faith.

He is survived by his sister, Donna Bernadzikowski of Serverna Park, Md.; an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Head; and an uncle, Ernest Passmore, all of Baltimore.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the auditorium of South Mountain Restoration Center. Father Joseph Caroline will be celebrant. Burial will be in St. Andrews Roman Catholic Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday one hour before the services at the restoration center.

Arrangements are by Lochstampfor Funeral Home, Waynesboro.

Betty S. Sease

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - Betty S. Sease, 72, of 213 Giser Ave. and formerly of 50 Zeigler Mill Road, Gettysburg, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, April 23, 1999, at Waynesboro Hospital.

Born July 4, 1926, in Garfield, Md., she was the daughter of the late Lester Albertus and Maude Marie Lewis Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Sease, in 1994. They were married July 3, 1946.

She and her husband, owned and operated Betty's Upholstering Show at Cove Hollow, Fairfield, Pa.

She is survived by a brother, Albert Smith of Sabillasville, Md.; an aunt, V. Ruth Toms of Smithsburg; and nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Harbaugh Church Cemetery, Rouzerville, Pa. The Rev. Edward L. Lochstampfor will officiate.

Visitation will be private.

Arrangements are by Lochstampfor Funeral Home, Waynesboro.

Betty J. Reed

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Betty Jane Reed, 77, of 5517 Cumberland Highway, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, April 23, 1999, at Manorcare Health Services in Chambersburg.

Born June 1, 1921, in Chambersburg, she was the daughter of the late Paul R. and Margaret Spangler Eyler.

Her husband, Wilbur C. Reed, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died in 1968.

She was a computer supervisor at Letterkenny Army Depot.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Chambersburg.

She is survived by three sisters, Pauline West of Satellite Beach, Fla., Martha Shafer of Rockville, Md., and Thelma Sternberg of Wilbraham, Mass.; and one brother, Paul R. Eyer Jr. of Englewood, Fla.

She was preceded in death by one sister, Blanche Powell; and two brothers, Norman and Otis Eyer.

Services will be held Monday at noon at Kelso-Cornelius Funeral Home, 725 Norland Ave., Chambersburg. The Rev. Neal Hively will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter, 2325 Country Road, Chambersburg, PA 17201.

George M. Gossert

WAYNESBORO, Pa. - George M. Gossert, 85, of 344 W. Second St., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Thursday, April 22, 1999, at Quincy (Pa.) United Methodist Home.

Born Feb. 7, 1914, in Mont Alto, Pa., he was the son of the late William E. and Ida E. Shockey Gossert.

He attended Mont Alto schools.

He worked on farms and orchards in the Mont Alto area. He and his brother, John Gossert, managed Gossert Orchard on Stamey Hill Road. Prior to retiring in 1986, he was employed by George Lowry Farm, Mont Alto.

He was a member of Quincy United Methodist Church, Quincy.

He was a member of South Mountain Fish and Game Association, South Mountain, Pa.

He is survived by a sister, Mae E. Oberholzer of Waynesboro; nieces and nephews, including his niece Ruby Vanderau with whom he had lived.

He was preceded in death by four sisters, Edith Reed, Carrie Vanderau, Maxine Gossert and Thelma Gossert; and five brothers, Norman Gossert, William Gossert Jr., Maurice Gossert, Paul Gossert and John Gossert.

Services will be Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Pastor Ruth Hollister will officiate. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery, Quincy.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorial donations may be made to Benevolent Care Fund, Quincy United Methodist Home, P.O. Box 217, Quincy, PA 17247.

James E.M. Shearer

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - James E.M. Shearer, 67, of 136 S. Fourth St., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Wednesday, April 21, 1999, at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born Feb. 12, 1932, in Waynesboro, Pa., he was the son of the late Clyde and Margaret Engle Shearer.

He was a retired meat cutter for W.D. Weaver Inc. in Chambersburg. He operated James Shearer and Son Pedal Power Bicycle Shop in Chambersburg.

He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Chambersburg.

He also was a member of Loyal Order of Moose in Chambersburg, and volunteered with the Franklin County Art Alliance.

He is survived by his wife Wilma Leatherman Shearer, whom he married Dec. 16, 1962; one son, Christopher R. Shearer of Harrisburg, Pa.; one foster son, Greg Coldsmith of Phoenix, Ariz.; five sisters, Margaret Holtry of California, Betty J. Monn of Waynesboro, Barbara Shearer of Selinsgrove, Pa., Ruth Salina of Ohio, and Kate Johns of Kauffman Station, Pa.; two brothers, Clyde Shearer Jr. and Daniel Shearer, both of Chambersburg; two granddaughters; nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by one sister, Marilyn Shearer.

Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. The Rev. Stephen W. Hoffman will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens in Chambersburg.

Visitation will be at the funeral home Tuesday at noon, the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 842 will conduct services at 12:30 p.m.

Memorial donations may be made to Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter Inc., 2325 Country Road, Chambersburg, PA 17201.

Margaret M. Snyder

She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Snyder Sr., in 1971.

She had been employed by Graffenbury Inn and Log Cabin Inn, both in the Caledonia, Pa., area.

She was a member of Waynesboro Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by three daughters, Winifred Frazer of Blue Ridge Summit, Pa., Annabelle L. Tresler and Sylvia L. Kline, both of Waynesboro; three sons, Harvey U. Snyder and Charles R. Snyder, both of Waynesboro and Clyde B. Snyder of Hagerstown; 25 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Gsell; two sons, Floyd J. Snyder and William H. Snyder Jr.; a sister; and a half brother.

Services will be Friday at 11 a.m. at Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro. Pastor Prue Yelinek will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.

It was her request to have no public viewing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, 117 S. Church St., Waynesboro, PA 17268.
