Born Feb. 7, 1913, in Halifax, Pa, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Jane Reitenbach Twigg.

She was a member of Grace Brethren Church, Waynesboro, where she taught the ladies' Philathea Bible Class for many years. As a pastor's wife she was active in serving congregations of Grace Brethren Fellowship in Pennsylvania, California, Ohio and Indiana.

She was a member of Joy W.M.C., Missions Commissions, Keenages Club and Waynesboro Garden Club. She also worked with children in Missionary Helpers Club.

She is survived by four daughters, Rosemary Stiffler of Indiana, Pa.; Dorothy Rough of Johnstown, Pa.; Roberta Devin of Waynesboro, and Virginia Plaster of Winona Lake, Ind.; 11 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, one brother, and one grandson.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Grace Brethren Church, 250 Philadelphia Ave., Waynesboro. The Rev. Roger Myers, Dr. David Plaster, and the Rev. Don Rough will officiate. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Grace Brethren Church, 250 Philadelphia Ave., Waynesboro PA 17268 or Grace Theological Seminary, 200 Seminary Drive, Winona Lake, IN 46590.

Arrangements are by Grove Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.

Bessie L. Duffey

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Bessie Louise Duffey, 87, a resident of Falling Spring Nursing Home, Chambersburg, and formerly a resident of Trinity House, 25 N. Potomac St., Waynesboro, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, in the nursing home. She was the first resident of Trinity House in 1982.

Born April 21, 1911, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Nellie M. Marotte Tritle.

She was employed at Waynesboro Knitting Mill for 32 years as a supervisor and was a babysitter for a number of years.

She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Waynesboro.

She is survived by one daughter, Joanne Adams of Waynesboro; one son, Jack Duffey of Waynesboro; one sister, Etha Mothersbaugh of State College, Pa.; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by one sister, one infant sister; one brother, and infant twin brothers.

Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Green Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Church of Christ, 30 West North St., Waynesboro, PA 17268.

Arrangements are by Cumberland Valley Crematorium, 50 South Broad Street, Waynesboro.

Rocco D. Ludvico

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - Rocco D. Ludvico, 75, of 3215 Saint Andrews Drive, formerly of Warrington, Pa., Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, at his home.

Born Sept. 24, 1923, in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Nicola and Loretta Donofrio Ludvico.

He was an educator with the Philadelphia school system for over 30 years.

He served as a paratrooper during World War II with the Army's 82nd Airborne Division.

He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg.

He was a member of the VFW of Hatboro, Pa., and P.S.E.A.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor Santagata Ludvico; one daughter, Loretta Ford of Chambersburg; on brother, Basso Ludvico of Philadelphia; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at noon with a Mass of Christian Burial in Corpus Christi Church. The Rev. Thomas R. Brenner will be celebrant. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home, 297 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Summit Home Health Hospice, 176 South Colbrook Avenue, Unit 3, Chambersburg, PA 17201.

George J. Baldassari, Sr.

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. - George J. Baldassari Sr., 75, of 551 Stouffer Ave., Chambersburg, Cemetery-obituaries?utm_source=partner_genlookups&utm_medium=partner&utm_campaign=genlookups_July21_textlink&tr_ad_group=textlinks&tr_funnel=supersearch" target="_blank">died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999, at his home.

Born June, 12, 1923, in Seneca Falls, N.Y., he was the son of the late James P. and Mary A. Matthews Baldassari.

He was retired from DESCOM, Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, as a logistic support systems analyst.

He served in the Marines during World War II.

He was a life member of Landis McCleaf Detachment of the Marine Corps League since 1952 and served as president and in other offices with the Home Association.

He was also a life member of Chambersburg Club, Amvets Post 224, Burt J. Asper Post 16 American Legion, Charles M. Nitterhouse Post 1599, and Veterans of Vietnam War Post 41, all of Chambersburg.

He is survived by his wife, Celesta Combs Baldassari, whom he married in 1944; three daughters, Linda Lower and Carol Otenberger, both of Chambersburg, Kay Salmon of Virginia Beach, Va.; three sons, John Baldassari Jr. of Chambersburg, Robert G. Baldassari of Vienna, Va., and Roy L. Baldassari of Lawrenceville, N.J.; four sisters, Betty J. Brainard of Baldwinsville, N.Y., Helen Lamoureux of Newark, N.Y., Joan Capaldi of Seneca Falls, N.Y., and Mary Lou Anderson of Finley, Ohio; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg. The Rev. Daniel F. Lawler will officiate. Burial will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg.

Military graveside services will be conducted by The Landis McCleaf Detachment of the Marine Corps League.

Clara B. Deck

Born May, 9, 1925, in Kasiesville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Emmert V. and Rose Rubeck Bowers.

She was last employed at Sagnar Garments of McConnellsburg, Pa., and once worked as a truck driver at Letterkenny Army Depot and Nu-Car Freight Company, both of Chambersburg.

She is survived by her husband, George R. "Bud" Deck, whom she married in 1957; three sisters, Myrtle M. Early and Betty Blair, both of Clear Spring, and Minerva Jean Johnson of Hancock; and one brother, Harold E. Bowers of Mercersburg.

She was preceded in death by six sisters, Hazel Atherton, Mildred Ensminger, Florence Hassler, Lottie Keefer, Grace Long and Edna Overcash; and three brothers, Allen Bowers, Frederick Bowers, and Grover Bowers.

Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, Inc., 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg.

There will be no viewing.

Memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Home Care Services, Inc., and designated for Hospice, 2700 Luther Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17201 or American Cancer Society, Franklin Unit, 452 E. King St., Chambersburg, PA 17201.
