ALLBAUGH - Jonathan Cecil "Gypsy," 86, of Jackson Township, passed away on June 16, 2004, at Rebekah Manor, Portage. He was Born Aug. 2, 1917, in Jackson Township, son of Jonathan and Annie E. (Rager) Allbaugh. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Montel, Allison, Martin, Thomas, Emory and Stanton "Joe"; sisters, Clarissa Varner, Lettie Angus, Maude Catlett and Pearl Given. He is survived by his loving wife, Anna B. Wilkinson, Jackson Township; daughter, Deborah C., wife of Robert D. Burkey, Johnstown; son, Barry L., married to the former Christine Dernar, Avon, Ohio; grandchildren, Tara Burkey, and R. Troy Burkey, married to the former Angela Miller, all of Johnstown; Justin Allbaugh and special friend Rebecca of Sheffield Lake, Ohio; and Jacob Allbaugh of Avon, Ohio; and numerous nieces and nephews. Cecil retired in 1975 from Bethlehem Steel where he was employed for 32 years in the Open Hearth Department. He was a life member of the Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Company. Cecil will be remembered as a kind and loving husband, father and friend. There will be no public viewing. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Internment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be directed to Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Company, 176 Adams Avenue, Mineral Point, Pa. 15942, in memory of Cecil. The family is being served by the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh.

Survived by loving wife, the former Marian Johnson, and these daughters: Maureen, wife of Omar Sanders, New Jersey; and Julie, wife of Lawrence Wagner, Johnstown; grandchildren, Cullene Compton, Kristen Buffone, Michael Allen Peach, Zachary and Allison Jones; William, Kyle and Christopher Sanders; also six great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Georgia Kilpatrick; and sister, Ruth Maticic, Krayn, Pa. Navy veteran of Korean War. Past commander of 485 Chemical Battalion Johnstown; 492 Military Intelligence Co., Greensburg; 130th Chemical Co., U.S. Army Reserve, Johnstown. Had 46 years in the U.S. military and Army Reserve. Member of SNPJ, Lodge 174; Reserve Officer's Association; and VFW. Friends received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Francis G. Ozog Funeral Home Inc., Broad Street. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Clement's Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Monday, the Rev. Robert M. Radasky and Col. Father Frank Ziemkiewicz. Committal, Benshoff Hill Cemetery. Graveside military service will be held by 464 Chemical Battalion, U.S. Army Reserve, Johnstown.

BOLDIN - Michael J. Jr.
BOLDIN - Michael J. He was the husband of Bernadine (Gigliotti) Boldin to whom he was married for 46 years. He was Born June 30, 1926, in Johnstown, son of the late Michael and Barbara (Bakoric) Boldin. Michael was a retired teacher for York City Schools and was also the former football coach for William Penn Senior High School from 1953-1970. He was a partner in the former Teachers Driving School. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in York. Former member of YCHS Athletic Association. A graduate of Johnstown Catholic High School and University of Pittsburgh, 1951, and a member of Pitt Rock Alumni Association. He was also a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean conflict. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, York, Pa. Burial was in Holy Saviour Cemetery with full military honors by York County Veterans Honor Guard. Michael also leaves three children: Ann M. wife of Andrew Casado of Clovis, Calif.; Suzanne B. wife of Anthony Falci of Dover; and Michael D. husband of Stephanie Boldin of Devon, Pa.; grandchildren: Michelle, Laura and Emily Casado, Jonathan and David Boldin, Peter, Michael, and Nicholas Falci; sisters: Mary Kosulinski of Frazer, Mich.; and Dolores Curcio of Johnstown. A brother Edward N. Boldin and sister, Josephine are deceased. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Camphill Special Schools, 1784 Fairview Road, Glenmoore, Pa. 19343, attn: Mike Beeler, in the name of Michael Boldin and his grandson Jonathan who attends their Beaver Run village for children with developmental disabilities.

BUKOVITZ - Andrew A., 66, of Colver, went to be with the Lord June 16, 2004, at Miners Medical Center. Born Sept. 14, 1937, in Colver, son of late Mickey and Betty (Getsy) Bukovitz. Preceded in death by sister, Delores J. Rito; brother, Michael J. Bukovitz; and sons-in-law, Randy Weimer and Scott Champion. Survived by wife, former Joan E. Lewis, to whom he was marriage 38 years; and children: Kimberly and husband, Michael Caggiano; and Andrea Weimer, both of Florida; Michael A. and wife, Belinda, Hawaii; James T. and wife. Myrna, New Mexico; and John A. Bukovitz, Colver; also seven grandchildren; sister, Catherine Rossi, Byrnedale; and brother, Robert T. Bukovitz, Ohio. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Colver. U.S. Air Force veteran. Retired from C&I; Railroad with 28 1/2 years of service. Member of IOOF, Knights of Columbus, Ebensburg Council #522, and the Colver Sportsmen's Club, where he loved shooting trap. At Andrew's request there will be no viewing. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family church, the Rev. Father Bernard F. Grega celebrant. Committal, Holy Family Cemetery. GUSTOVICH - Joseph

He was Born Jan. 31, 1915, in Cardale, near Uniontown, Pa., son of Spiro and Elizabeth (Hagan) Gustovich. Graduating from Geneva College, Beaver Falls, Pa., in 1938, he was a field athlete, tackle, and football team captain. Teammates include Dom Rosselli and John Belichick (father of N.E. Patriots head coach). Joe was voted into the top 100 Geneva players from 1890-1949. As a World War II USMC lieutenant, and later captain, he was twice wounded in Pacific Theater actions. He married Ethel Svaltek of Johnstown in 1949. They moved to Dallas in 1952 where he worked for Wurlitzer throughout the South. He is survived by son, Gus and wife, Julie, of Dallas; daughter Joette and husband, Gary Reger; grandchildren, Josef Reynolds; Lauren and Christina Nance, all of Beaumont, Texas; brother, George and wife, Josephine of near Youngstown, Ohio; and brother-in-law, Bill Svaltek of Johnstown. HARTWIGER - Robert L.
HARTWIGER - Robert L., 81, of Bethlehem, went to be with his Lord June 15, 2004. He and his wife, Garnet (Halliwell) Hartwiger, celebrated their 62nd anniversary in March. Born in Johnstown, on July 5, 1922, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Cameron) Hartwiger and a 1939 graduate of Johnstown High School. Bob worked in the accounting department of Bethlehem Steel for 37 years, retiring in 1982. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was a former deacon of Lehigh Valley Grace Brethren Church. Survivors are his wife, Garnet; daughters, N. Lorene Reese of Salix, widow of Glenn; and Rosalee R. Webster and husband, Rich, of Northampton; son, Robert G. "Bobby" and wife, Aimee, of Warsaw, Ind.; sister, Dorothy Wherry, widow of Wayne, of Johnstown; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey, Gretchen, Carol, Shane, Donna, Brittany and Abbey; and two great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Frieda C. Hartwiger, widow of Joseph Jr., of Bedford; and number of nieces and nephews. Bob was predeceased by daughter, Roberta Jacobe, and brother, Joseph V. Hartwiger. Services at 11 a.m. Friday in the Calvary Baptist Church, 111 Dewberry Ave., Bethlehem. Call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Long Funeral Home, 500 Linden St., Bethlehem, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday in the church. Graveside services will be held at noon Saturday in the Forest Lawn Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorials to the church, 18017.

MILLS - Laura A. (Shaffer)
MILLS - Laura A. (Shaffer), 87, Tallmadge, Ohio, passed away June 9, 2004. Born in Rummel, Pa., she lived in the Akron area since 1935 and in Tallmadge, Ohio, since 1960. Laura retired in 1985 as a manager with Holiday Shoes. She enjoyed gardening, and volunteered with Good Neighbors, the Women's Auxiliary of Children's Home, United Fund, Akron Symphony and the Junior Federation of Women. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Robert R. and Sandra J. Mills of Clinton, Ohio; sister, Ethel Gallagher of Johnstown; brothers, Martin Shaffer of Lancaster; and Don Shaffer of Windber; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 12, 2004, at the Chapel at Fir Hill.
