E. Wayne Fisk
MERCER, Pa. - E. Wayne Fisk, 89, died Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at Countryside Convalescent Home, Mercer, Pa.
He was born July 15, 1912, in Warren, the son of Rolland S. and Nellie (Dawkins) Fisk.
A longtime Kinsman resident, Mr. Fisk has lived in Mercer, Pa., for the past four years.
A 1932 Johnston High School graduate, Mr. Fisk worked as an oil well driller from 1944 to 1956 and as a carpenter from 1956 on.
Mr. Fisk was a member of the East Ohio Lapidary Club Inc., and the Woodcarvers Association. He had his own greenhouse, cut and polished semi-precious stones, raised cacti, and enjoyed woodcarving and woodworking. He made furniture and built his own house. He also enjoyed doing stained glass work, and made a stained glass window at the Christian Missionary Alliance Church.
He marriage his first wife, Lydia M. (Hobart) on Oct. 5, 1940. She died Dec. 12, 1987. He marriage his second wife, Mary E. (Mansfield) on May 27, 1989.
He was a member of Johnston Federated United Methodist Church and the Kinsman Christian Missionary Alliance Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Bette L. Meek of New Castle, Pa.; one grandchild; two great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Ruth McGaughy of Warren, Mary Denman of Cortland, and Grace Sutton of Kinsman.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert.
Service is 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Baumgardner Funeral Home, 8569 Main St., Kinsman. Burial will be in Kinsman Cemetery.
Calling hours are 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Mary Virginia Loch
SHARON, Pa. - Mary Virginia Loch, 84, of Cordia Commons of the Shenango Inn, died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2001, of congestive heart failure at Sharon Regional Health System, Sharon, Pa.
She was born Dec. 16, 1916, in New Castle, Pa., to William J. and Mary J. Mitchell Beck.
Mrs. Loch graduated from Sharon Senior High School in 1935. She and husband Robert A. Loch co-owned and operated Loch's Coal and Ice 1938-1953. She served as office secretary for the Penn Lakes Girl Scout Council and retired after 25 years.
She was a 64-year member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sharon and taught Sunday school in the primary department for 20 years. She served as deacon and was a member of the mariner's class, Women's Association and Wednesday Bazaar Workers. She was president of the Sharon Opti-mrs Club and a member of Sharpsville Rebekah Lodge #110, Sharpsville, Pa., and John XXIII Auxiliary.
Survivors include son Dr. John R. Loch of Youngstown; brothers J. Bruce Beck of Ormond Beach, Fla. and Clarence M. Beck of Niles; and several nieces and nephews in the Ashtabula area.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two infant sons and brothers George W. and William A. Beck.
Service is 3 p.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian Church, 600 E. State St., Sharon, Pa., officiated by the Rev. Dr. Glenn Hink. Private committal services will be held for the family. There are no calling hours.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Penn Lake Girl Scout Council, Edinboro, Pa., or the First Presbyterian Church, Sharon, Pa.

Josephine "Jay" M. Permenter
NEW CASTLE, Pa. - Josephine "Jay" M. Permenter, 88, of Northview Avenue, New Castle, Pa., died Sunday, July 22, 2001, at her home.
She was born May 10, 1913 in Campopietro, Italy, the daughter of Joseph and Rachela (Fabale) D'Avirro.
Mrs. Permenter was employed as a hostess and manager at the Log Cabin, Wickliffe, for 30 years and at the Grandview in Middlefield for 10 years.
She marriage Euston L. Permenter on Dec. 8, 1940.
Survivors include her daughter, Rachela Permenter of New Castle, Pa.; son, Lee Permenter of Boston, Mass.; two sisters, Rosemary Anthony and Ramona Marcuse, both of Newport Beach, Calif., and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Euston in 1977, her parents and two brothers, Warren and Frank D'Avirro.
Services will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home, Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, Pa.
Burial will be in Sager Memorial Cemetery, Bristolville.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:30 p.m. at the funeral home.

Deene M. Fowler, Jr.
CRANESVILLE, Pa. - Deene (Dean) McLoyd Fowler, Jr., 53, died Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, at Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa., following a brief illness. He was born July 22, 1949, in Conneaut, the son of Emma (Lyubi) Fowler and the late Deene (Dean) McLoyd Fowler, Sr.
Following graduation in 1967 from Conneaut High School, Mr. Fowler entered the U.S. Marine Corp and served in Vietnam. He was employed as a supervisor at General Aluminum in Conneaut and had previously worked at Emco-Wheaton.
A born-again Christian for the past 27 years, he was an active member of the Conneaut Church of God, where he was an elder and a lay minister, taught Sunday school and adult Bible study, and served as head of the missions department. He traveled to Ukraine in June as a missionary, and participated in the church's new construction project. He was devoted to his church and family. He enjoyed helping others, playing golf, softball, fishing and Nascar racing.
Survivors include his mother, Emma Fowler of Conneaut, his wife, Karen M. (Notte) Diehl Fowler, whom he marriage Sept. 7, 2002, two sons, Christopher Fowler of Seattle, Wash. and Anthony Fowler of Conneaut; one daughter, Amanda Fowler of Conneaut, three grandchildren, Hannah, Grace and Christopher Fowler; three stepchildren, Carson Diehl of East Springfield, Pa., Kylee Diehl at home and Justin Diehl of Albion, Pa. Also surviving are his former wife, Kathryn A. Fowler of Conneaut, two brothers, Richard M. Fowler of Cortland and Terry Fowler of Conneaut; and three sisters, Diana Wright and Jennie Chicatelli, both of Conneaut and Lorna Radcliffe of Painesville.
He was preceded in death by his father in March, a brother, Anthony Fowler in September, 1963 and both sets of his grandparents.
Service is 11 a.m. Monday, at the Conneaut Church of God, 5327 Center Road, Conneaut, with the Rev. Raymond L. Lamb, officiating. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery, Conneaut, with military honors accorded by the Pvt. Henry Kalinowski Detachment #782 of the Marine Corps League.
Calling hours are 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut.
Memorial contributions may be made to the missions department of the Conneaut Church of God. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home and at the church.

Edward T. Ramey
EDINBORO, Pa. - Edward T. Ramey, 68, died Friday, Jan. 25, 2002, at his home.
He was born March 30, 1933, in Van, W. Va., to Hiram and Sissie Ramey.
Mr. Ramey was a lifelong Edinboro-area resident and enjoyed gardening and nature walks.
Survivors include sisters Essie Webber and Bessie Lago, both of West Springfield, Pa.; brothers Ralph of Edinboro, with whom he lived, Harold of Erie, Pa., and Kenneth Ramey of Conneaut.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Rex Ramey, and sister Lucille Ramey.
Funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Marcy Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, officiated by the Rev. Raymond Lamb of the Church of God. Burial will be at Springfield Cemetery, East Springfield, Pa.
Calling hours are 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the family. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.

Jess C. Blood
WEST SPRINGFIELD, Pa. ­ Jess C. "Jack" Blood, 82, of Griffey Road, died Sunday, March 25, 2001, at his residence.
He was born Feb. 20, 1919, in Conneaut Township, the son of the late Charlie and Jennie (Ruland) Blood.
Mr. Blood served in the U.S. Army as a private first class in the 839th Ordnance Depot Co. during World War II.
He was a graduate of Conneaut High School.
Prior to his retirement he had been a supervisor for Conneaut Township and had worked at Nickel Plate Railroad and PennDot. He had been a school bus driver for the Northwestern School District for many years. He enjoyed hunting.
Mr. Blood was a member of Girard Alliance Church where he had served as an elder and was an usher for many years.
Survivors include his wife, Agnes R. (Mohr) Blood; a son, Richard A. Blood of West Springfield; two daughters, Nancy C. Pugh of Girard, Pa., and Karen S. Kibler of Cranesville, Pa.; a sister, Lula Sheri of Erie; four grandchildren, Lisa Cronin, Jon Pugh, Gayle Edwards and Carol Jones; eight great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Roland, Paul, Gilson and Wayne Blood; two sisters, Thelma Parker and Pauline Dunn; and a grandson, David John Pugh Jr.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Girard Alliance Church, 229 Rice Ave., Girard, with the Rev. Clyde Davis officiating. Burial will be private in Girard Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Burton Funeral Home, 525 Main St., East and from 10 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the church.

Joan L. Raskob
ELVERSON, Pa. - Joan L. (DiDonato) Raskob, 70, of Harmonyville Road, died Friday, Dec. 27, 2002, at her home. She was born Aug. 16, 1932 in Ashtabula, the daughter of Pasquale and Carmel (Antenucci) DiDonato.
She graduated from Ashtabula High School in 1950 and from the Middlesex Hospital Nursing School in 1953.
Mrs. Raskob worked as a registered nurse at Devereux Foundation in Glenmoore, retiring in 1992. She was the president of Steel Plate Products in Phoenixville Pa. at her time of death.
Mrs. Raskob lived in Warwick Township for the past 40 years and was a member of the St. Thomas More Catholic Church in South Coventry Township. She was also a member of the Malvern AARP and the Main Line Senior Center.
Survivors include one son, Irvin H. Raskob, Jr. of Phoenixville, Pa., two daughters, Sally DeAngelo of Elverson, Pa. and Elizabeth Raskob of Kimberton, Pa.; four grandchildren, three sisters, Grace Gabriel, Elaine Valerio and Pauline McCafferty, all of Ashtabula; and one brother, Eugene DiDonato of New Castle, Pa.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Angeline Barchanowicz and her parents.
The Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, in St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 2101 Pottstown Pike (South Coventry), Pottstown, Pa., with the Rev. Hugh J. Dougherty, Pastor, officiating.
Calling hours are 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Devlin-Rosmos-Keep Funeral Home, Inc., Main Street at Fourth Avenue, Phoenixville Pa. and 9:45 to 10:45 Tuesday at the church.
Burial will be in St. Ann Cemetery in Phoenixville, Pa.
