Comer N. Garner, 75, 11208 Pepperbush Circle, Williamsport, Md., formerly of 300 Northern Avenue, Hagerstown, Md. and New Jersey, died Thursday, Aug. 2 at his residence.
Born Jan. 31, 1926 in Paris, Texas, he was the son of the late E.R. and Ada Garner. He was marriage to Mary Elias Garner of 522 East Church Street, Blackwood, N.J., on Sept. 14, 1946.
Mr. Garner had worked as an electrician. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Robert N. Garner of Turnersville, N.J, Richard S. Garner of Fayetteville and John M. Garner of Blackwood, N.J.; a daughter, Sharon L. Kondas of Turnersville, N.J.; a brother, Eugene Garner of Irving, Texas; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services and interment are private.

Donald P. Maslen
Colonel (retired) Donald P. Maslen, 73, 7040 Augusta National, Fayetteville, died Saturday, Aug. 4 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born June 27, 1928 in Mount Kisco, N.Y., he was the son of the late Harold and Ethel Canavan Maslen. He was marriage to Beatrice Fay Maslen on Nov. 3, 1956.
Mr. Maslen was a 1946 graduate of the Mt. Kisco High School, Mt. Kisco, N.Y. and graduated in 1950 from the Rensselaer Polytechnical Institute in Troy, N.Y.
He was a retired Colonel in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Maslen entered the Air Force in 1951. He served with the Strategic Air Command and graduated from the Air Force Test Pilot School. He then served in various capacities throughout the United States and Turkey. After retiring in 1979, he was employed as a math teacher at the Goffstown Area High School in Goffstown, N.H. until 1991. The Maslens then moved to Fayetteville.
He was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Chambersburg. He enjoyed playing golf, traveling and was an avid reader. He liked to spend time with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, Stephen H. Maslen of Chicago, Ill., Thomas E. Maslen of University Park, Md. and James D. Maslen of Landing, N.J.; a daughter, Patricia M. Goeke of Great Falls, Va.; two brothers, Col. Harry C. Harvey of Somers, N.J. and Stephen H. Maslen of Timonium, Md.; and five grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 320 Philadelphia Avenue, Chambersburg on Tuesday, Aug. 7 with Monsignor Thomas R. Brenner officiating. Interment was in Norland Cemetery, Chambersburg.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association Franklin Co. Chapter, c/o Mrs. Doris J. Goetz, 219 West Second Street, Waynesboro, Pa. 17268.

Fannie E. Miller
Fannie E. Miller, 82, 556 Elder Street, died Thursday, Aug. 2 unexpectedly in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Feb. 25, 1919 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Maurice and Lulu Cline Monn. Her husband Harry B. "Mooney" Miller died Jan. 29, 1989.
Mrs. Miller had been employed by the Chambersburg Area School District for a number of years in the high school cafeteria.
She was a member of the Ft. Loudon U.M. Church, the Sisters of the Swish, Chambersburg and the T.O.P.S. Club.
Surviving are two sons, Harry B. Miller Jr. and Samuel M. Miller; five daughters, Edna Glass of Ft. Loudon, Judith Gordon of Mercersburg, Ellen Griffith, Bonnie Kyler and Betsy Green of Greencastle; one sister, Vesta Miller of New Port Richey, Fla.; 19 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter Gloria in 1958, one sister, several brothers and two grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 6 at Robert G. Sellers Funeral Home with Rev. John Rauhut officiating. Interment was in Norland Cemetery.

Frederick S. "Fred" Kraiss
Frederick S. "Fred" Kraiss, 67, a resident at Penn Hall, Chambersburg, formerly of 956 Penn Wood Court, Chambersburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 1 at Penn Hall.
Born May 1, 1934 in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Paul J. Kraiss and Jean S. Stouffer Fisher.
Mr. Kraiss is a 1952 graduate of Chambersburg High School and had attended the former Chambersburg Business College.
He worked as a First Deputy at the Franklin County Register and Recorders Office, Chambersburg, for 32 years before retiring in 1995.
He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Chambersburg.
Mr. Kraiss was a member of the Kittochtinny Historical Society, Chambersburg, where he served on the board of directors; a member of the Greene Township Lions Club and a member of the B.P.O. Elks No. 600, Chambersburg.
Surviving are two half-brothers, James P. Kraiss of Chambersburg and Stephen Kraiss of Newton and two half-sisters, Sharon Doolittle of Millersville and Jennifer Sterling of Wagoner, Okla.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Doris Kraiss.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 4 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Chambersburg with Rev. Dr. Neal O. Hively. Interment was in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Chambersburg.

Joann D. Coffey
Joann D. Coffey, 70, 603 Maryland Avenue, Chambersburg, died Wednesday, Aug. 1 at the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born Jan. 14, 1931 in Frederick, Md., she was the daughter of the late John and Gail Feidt Dodson Landis.She marriage Richard Lohrens.
Mrs. Coffey was a 1949 graduate of Chambersburg High School, Chambersburg. She worked at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, for 30 years before retiring in 1990.
She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Chambersburg.
Mrs. Coffey was a member of the American Business Women's Association, Heart of the Valley Chapter 5205, Chambersburg; and a member and supporter of the American Diabetes Association and a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees No. 1063, Chambersburg. She enjoyed animals.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Susan E. Lease of York; two grandchildren; and a great-grandson.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Aug. 4 at the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg with Rev. Stephen W. Hoffman. Interment was in Lincoln Cemetery, Chambersburg.

Larry D. Davies
Larry D. Davies, 58, 515 West Sixth Street, Waynesboro, died Wednesday, Aug. 1 at his residence.
Born Nov. 14, 1942 in Chambersburg, he was the son of Melva Felker Davies of Chambersburg and the late Leonard V. Davies. He was marriage to Helen Dick Davies on Oct. 16, 1965.
Mr. Davies was a 1960 graduate of Chambersburg High School. He served in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Davies was a lineman for Allegheny Power in Waynesboro for 37 years. He retired in March 2001.
He was of the Protestant faith. Mr. Davies was a member of the American Legion Burt J. Asper Post 46 and Frontier County Gun Club, both of Chambersburg. He enjoyed hunting and horse racing.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are a daughter, Sherry Houser of Chambersburg; a son, David Davies of McConnellsburg; a brother, Dennis Davies of Chambersburg; a sister, Debbie Brutico of Scranton; and one granddaughter.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Aug. 6 at the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road,Chambersburg, with Rev. John A. Ile officiating. Interment was in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

Paul Wingert
Paul B. Wingert, 82, 620 B Menno Village, Chambersburg, died Monday, July 30 at Menno Haven.
Born Jan. 27, 1919 in Fayetteville, he was the son of the late George and Minnie Brechbill Wingert. He was marriage to Marie Thrush Wingert on April 10, 1943.
Mr. Wingert was a truck driver and milk processor for Harrisburg Dairy before retiring.
He was a lifelong member of the New Guilford Brethren in Christ Church, Chambersburg.
He was also active in the music ministry of the church and the Chambersburg Male Community Chorus.
Surviving in addition to his wife, are two daughters, Rosanna Hess of Mechanicsburg and Denise Lehman of Chambersburg; a son, Don Wingert of Mechanicsburg eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by six brothers and five sisters.
Funeral services were held Friday, Aug. 3 at the New Guilford Brethren in Christ Church, Chambersburg, with Rev. Omar King officiating. Interment was held at New Guilford Cemetery.

Randy L. Poe
Randy L. Poe, 46, 40 West Main Street, Fayetteville, died Saturday, Aug. 4 at his residence.
Born July 12,1956 in Chambersburg, he was the son of Glenn R. and Josephine P. Foore Poe of Fayetteville.
Mr. Poe was a 1973 graduate of Chambersburg Area High School. He was presently attending Thompson Learning Institute, Chambersburg.
He was employed as a welder at Grove World Wide, Shady Grove for 14 years. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Sheriff's Association.
Surviving in addition to his parents are a brother, Daniel G. Poe of Suffolk, Va.; two nieces; one great-niece and three great-nephews.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Aug. 7 at the Chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Chambersburg, with Rev. George S. Mouer Sr. officiating. Interment was in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg.

Susan Jane Lesher
Susan Jane Lesher, 90, 1702 Gabler Road, Chambersburg, formerly of 1025 Garber Road, Chambersburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 7 at ManorCare Health Services, Chambersburg.
Born Feb. 14, 1911 in Letterkenny Township, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Annie R. Brechbill Burkholder. She was marriage to Roy E. Lesher on Dec. 2, 1930. Mr. Lesher died June 11, 1954. He second husband, John B. Lesher, whom she marriage Nov. 9, 1961, died on Dec. 4, 1969.
Mrs. Lesher was a homemaker. She had also farmed early in her life.
She was a member of Old Order German Baptist Church, Chambersburg.
Surviving are two sons, John B. Lesher of Chambersburg and Wayne B. Lesher of Newville; a daughter, Lois Meyers, with whom Mrs. Lesher resided; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Mrs. Lesher was the last of her immediate family. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two sisters, two brothers and one great-granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10 at Falling Spring Old Order German Baptist Meeting House, Spring Road, Chambersburg, with The Home Brethren officiating. Interment will be in the Falling Spring Old Order German Baptist Cemetery, Chambersburg.
Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 9 p.m. at Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, 333 Falling Spring Road, Chambersburg. They may also view prior to the service on Friday at the church.
The family requests the omission of flowers.
