HALLIE N. HELFFERICH
Hallie N. Helfferich, 91, a resident of the St. Anne Home, Greensburg, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at St. Anne. She was born June 16, 1908, in Unity Township, a daughter of the late Audley S. and Margaret I. (Stump) Helfferich. Prior to retirement in 1973, she worked as a music teacher and music supervisor at the Unity Township and Greater Latrobe school districts. She was a member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Latrobe. She was a former choir director at Prince of Peace, St. James, and Trinity Lutheran churches. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Schaller A. and O. Dale Helfferich; and her sister, Dorothy Gregory. She is survived by a brother, Barney R. Helfferich and wife, Dolores, of Latrobe; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews and great- great-nieces and -nephews. Friends will be received at the GAUT-BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., Pleasant Unity, Thursday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held in the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Friday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. William E. Ordelt Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Jeannette Memorial Park, Penn Township. Family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Prince of Peace Organ Fund, 1325 Mission Road, Latrobe, PA 15650.

MICHAEL KARPESKY
Michael Karpesky, 79, of Latrobe RD6, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at his home. Born Oct. 24, 1920, in Latrobe, he was a son of the late John and Catherine Dolinska Karpesky. He was a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church, Latrobe. Prior to retirement, he had been employed by Latrobe Steel Co. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. He was also a member of American Legion Post 515 and White Eagles, both of Latrobe, and Youngstown Firemen's Club. He was an avid gardener. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph Karpesky; and a sister, Rose Gibson. He is survived by his wife, Agnes E. (Smith) Karpesky; five sons, Michael A. Karpesky and John A. Karpesky, both of Latrobe, David Karpesky and his wife, Saundra, of Corpus Christi, Texas, Mark Karpesky of Ligonier and Kevin Karpesky of Greensburg; three daughters, Mary Legas and her husband, David, of Latrobe, Agnes Borza of Latrobe and Rose Weaver and her husband, Larry, of Loyalhanna; nine grandchildren, Beth, Jamie, Tina, Jodie, Jason, Bobby, Jonathan, Amber and Connie; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. Parastas service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Panachida service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home, followed by Divine Liturgy at noon in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Ukrainian Catholic Church with the Rev. Xavier Elambassery as celebrant. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Unity Township. Military services will be held at 11:15 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.

WALTER PAMPUS
Walter Pampus, 77, of North Huntingdon, died Thursday, Dec. 30, 1999, in Clewiston, Fla. He was born March 22, 1922, in Essen, Germany, a son of the late Karl and Emma (Laudamacher) Pampus. He was a bricklayer for U.S. Steel (Edgar Thomson Works). He was a U.S. Army veteran during World War II, and a member of the American Legion Post 472, Manor, VFW Post, North Huntingdon, and Disabled American Veterans, Greensburg. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Harper) Pampus; two sons, Kenneth Pampus and wife, Connie, of Irwin and Wayne Pampus of Ravenna, Ohio; a brother, Charles Pampus of Trafford; three sisters, Gertrude Maystrovich of Wendel, Louise Sterns of Tampa, Fla., and Elsie Williams of Ocala, Fla.; two grandsons, Clint and Chad Pampus; and a great-grandchild. Friends will be received at the VINCENT V. RODGERS FUNERAL HOME, 805 Pennsylvania Ave., Irwin, Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Service will be held Friday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Joseph M. Kim officiating. Entombment Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont.

MATILDA M. RULLO
Matilda M. Rullo, 80, of Latrobe, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, in Latrobe Area Hospital. She was born Jan. 12, 1919, in Latrobe, a daughter of the late Michael D. and Mary Lapchack Rullo. She was a member of Holy Family Church, Latrobe. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed by American Cyanamid Co., Latrobe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Michael E. Rullo. She is survived by two sisters, Irene Pedrazzoli of Vero Beach, Fla., and Vilma Demos of Pittsburgh; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Interment in St. Mary's Cemetery, Unity Township.

JOHN G. SEIGHMAN
John G. Seighman, 92, of Ruffsdale RD1, South Huntingdon Township, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, in Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. He was born May 15, 1907, in South Huntingdon Township, a son of the late John and Elizabeth Woods Seighman. He was a retired coal miner and also a small-engine repair mechanic. He was a member of the Barren Run United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Leona Dorman Seighman; three brothers, Charles, Daniel and Harry; and seven sisters, Ada, Blanche, Edna, Aquella, Ellen, Julia, and Sophia. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Survived by two sons, Jack D. Seighman and his wife, Marilyn, and Robert G. Seighman and his wife, Helen, both of Ruffsdale RD1; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the L.L. BARTHELS FUNERAL HOME INC., Second Street, Smithton. Funeral services will be held Friday, Jan. 7, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. James Myers and the Rev. Herbert Peterson co-officiating. Interment Barren Run Cemetery, South Huntingdon Township.

RONALD L. MOORE
Ronald L. Moore, 66, of North Huntingdon, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, in Forbes Regional Health Center, Monroeville. He was born Feb. 28, 1933, in McKeesport, a son of the late Louis and Vina Connelly Moore. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a shipper by Vista Metals in Greenock. He was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, McKeesport. He was a veteran of the Korean conflict, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was a member of the White Oak American Legion and the Penns Woods Civic Association. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Edna Engwer, Catherine Johnston and Helen Saunders. He is survived by his wife, Cathryn Drue Bilharz Moore; a son, Ronald L. Moore Jr. of Latrobe; two daughters, Margaret Diane Tancraitor of York and Sandra Ann Weathers of East McKeesport; two brothers, Floyd Moore of North Huntingdon and Louis Moore of White Oak; and four grandsons. Friends will be received at the SHIRLEY-KUKICH FUNERAL HOME INC., Clay Pike, Circleville, North Huntingdon, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Phillip Ashley officiating, followed by interment in Penn-Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 241 Fourth Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15222-1744.

FRANK BOLKO
Frank Bolko, 77, of Las Vegas, Nev., formerly of southern California, died Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas. He was born June 9, 1922, in Herminie #2, a son of the late Christ and Molly Bolko. During World War II, he served his country as a Merchant Marine in the Mediterranean Sea. Prior to his retirement in 1984, he was employed with Edison Co. in southern California as a troubleshooter and a construction engineer for 36 years, supervising the construction of nuclear hydro and wind energy powered plants in southern California, Nevada and Utah. As chairman of the pension negotiating board, he was instrumental in implementing the pension plan for Edison Co. He was a 60-year member of the Slovene National Benefit Society. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by two brothers, William and Christy "Herky." Frank is survived by his wife of 30 years, Darlene Bolko; a son, Frank Greg of Oakland, Calif.; three sisters, Anna Mae Feltes of Irwin, Mrs. Robert (Lillian) Albert of Greensburg and Marie Rand of Boston, Mass.; a grandson, Shane Frank of California; and a number of nieces and nephews. Frank was cremated and a full military burial at sea is planned to be held at a future date.

BULLET YOUNG
Bullet Young, of Acme, born Jan. 26, 1958, departed this life Wednesday, Dec. 22, 1999. Services were held at the Full Gospel Tabernacle Church with the Rev. Bobby Bryer as officiant on Wednesday, Dec. 29, in Texas. Interment was in Columbia Hill Cemetery, Columbia Hill, La. He is survived by his wife, Kelly Marker Young; and their children, a son, Stanley, age 10, Daniel, age 8, Anthony, age 7, Natassia, age 3, and Issac, 19 months. Also twin daughters, Joanie and Famie Young, age 16. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Maxine Young. Also survived by his brothers and sisters, Bill Young and wife, Sheila, Reese Young and her husband, Tom Young, and Clifford Young and his wife, Betty, and Bullet's triplet sisters, Maxine Bess and her husband, Wayne, and Delia Young; and nieces and nephews.

RUTH L. CONLAN
Ruth L. Conlan, 89, of Greensburg, and formerly of Wilkes-Barre, died Friday, Dec. 31, 1999, at the Villa Angela, Greensburg. Born in Wilkes-Barre, July 20, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Matthew and Jennie Davis Conlan. She was a graduate of Coughlin High School and West Chester State College. Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a teacher at the elementary education level with the Wilkes-Barre Area School District, having taught at Westminster St. School, Lafayette School and Conyngham School. She had been a member of the local, state and national Retired Teachers Associations and had served as both president and vice president of the Wilkes-Barre Area School District Women's Club. Miss Conlan was a life member of St. Stephen's Pro Cathedral, formerly St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Wilkes-Barre, where in 1972 she was the first woman elected to the Vestry. She had also taught church school for many years, was a member of the Altar Guild, the Women of St. Stephen's, was custodian of the United Thank Offering, a member of the Every Member Canvass Committee, the Fortnightly Club, and had served as chairman of Task Force 3 of the self study survey in the parish. She also was a member of the Wyoming Historical and Geological Society. Surviving are cousins: Mary E. Conlan of Greensburg, John Dempsey of Pinehurst, N.C., and Hugh Dempsey of Greensburg. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. from St. Stephen's Pro Cathedral, 35 S. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Canon Donald J. Muller, Rector, officiating. Interment will be in Forty Fort Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the FREDERICK & SNOWDON FUNERAL HOME, 617 Carey Ave., Wilkes-Barre. Memorial contributions, if desired, may be made to the Endowment Fund at St. Stephen's Pro Cathedral, 35 S. Franklin St., Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

ANGELO L. DiTOMMASO
Angelo L. DiTommaso, 72, of North Huntingdon, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000, in the Wilkinsburg Life Care Hospital. He was born Nov. 17, 1927, in Patton Township, a son of the late John and Sarafina Pugliano DiTommaso. Prior to retirement, he owned and operated Angelo's Ristorante of Irwin, which he founded along with his wife, Dorothy Turkovich DiTommaso, in August of 1955. He was past president of the Pennsylvania Tavern Association. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church of Irwin and the Lincoln Hills Country Club. He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Army. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, John M. DiTommaso, and two daughters, Denise Miller and her husband, William, and Debbie Huey and her husband, Robert, all of Irwin; three grandchildren, Christian Koury and Angela and Alyssa Huey; a brother, Jay Jay DiTommaso, and a sister, Rose Marie Karish, both of Monroeville; also nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church. Entombment will follow in New St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles. Those wishing may contribute to the Immaculate Conception Church Building Fund, 305 Second St., Irwin, PA 15642.
