EDWIN L. WHITEHURST
Edwin L. "Whitey" Whitehurst, 84, of North Huntingdon, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at home. He was born March 12, 1915, in North Braddock, a son of the late Fred and Ellen Hainsey Whitehurst. He was a retired employee of the Westinghouse Electric Corp., East Pittsburgh, and was a member of the Brush Creek Salem United Church of Christ. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a past commander of the VFW Post 781, North Huntingdon, and past president of the Home Association. Also, he was a member of the Shidle Lodge #601 Free and Accepted Masons, Irwin. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Virginia Trout Whitehurst; a brother, Harold Whitehurst and his wife, Ruth, of North Huntingdon; two sisters-in-law, Thelma Hainsey of North Huntingdon and Willa Aurouze and her husband, James, of Waldorf, Md.; also nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the WILLIAM SNYDER FUNERAL HOME, 521 Main St., Irwin, Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. F. Edmund Jenkins officiating. Interment will follow in Monongahela Cemetery, North Braddock. The VFW Post 781 will hold services Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and the Shidle Lodge will hold services Thursday at 8 p.m., both in the funeral home.

ROSE ANN BILLER
Rose Ann Biller, 100, of Mt. Pleasant, died Wednesday evening, Feb. 2, 2000, at the Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant. Mrs. Biller was born May 26, 1899, at Everson, a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Kerin Collins. She was a member of St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant, and the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post 3368. She was a homemaker and loving mother of her three sons, Robert Biller, Raymond Biller, and Francis Biller and wife, Elizabeth, all of Mt. Pleasant; and a daughter-in-law, Catherine Carnes Biller. She is also survived by 11 loving grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Julia Biller of Mt. Pleasant. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Frank Biller, in 1961; a son, Regis Biller; five brothers, Patrick, Kerin, Jack, Matthew, and Robert Collins; and a sister, Margaret Ellen Collins. Friends will be received in the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X R.C. with the Rev. Michael W. Matusak as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Pius X Cemetery. The Ladies Auxiliary will hold services in the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Friday and a parish wake service will also be held Friday afternoon.

PAUL E. BOWERS
Paul E. Bowers, 58, of Latrobe, was taken home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, at Latrobe Area Hospital. Born in Bradenville, Nov. 26, 1941, he was a son of the late John and Anna Philoe Bowers. He was a member of Holy Family Church, Latrobe. He was an employee of Airo-Die Casting Co., Latrobe, and had also worked for Dr. Hershock and Dr. Wigle. He was a devoted and beloved husband and father and foster parent to several children. He will be sadly missed by his two cats, Abby and Zombie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, David and James Bowers; and a sister, Josephine Wilson. He is survived by his wife, Rebecca M. Honse Bowers; a son, Joshua D. Bowers at home; a daughter, Jennifer B. Newell and her husband, Staff Sgt. Daniel L., of Great Falls, Mont.; a brother, Herman Bowers of Latrobe; four sisters, Mary Arquillo of Lorain, Ohio, Edith Heffelfinger of Derry, Florence Utterback of Scottdale and Janet Krinock of Bradenville; a number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; mother-in-law and father-in-law, John and Audra Harrold of Greensburg; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; cousins; and friends. Friends will be received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday in the JOHN J. LOPATICH FUNERAL HOME INC., 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 9:30 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Interment will be private.

JAMES E. EMSWILLER
James E. Emswiller, 87, of Manor, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000. He was born Aug. 29, 1912, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Bessie Emswiller. He was a fitter at Westinghouse, East Pittsburgh. He was a social member of Westmoreland City Fire Department and a member of St. Joseph's Polish Club in Westmoreland City. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary D. (Rivett) Emswiller. Survived by a son, James L. Emswiller of West Mifflin; two daughters, Linda Petrosko of Jeannette and Shirley L. Pavlik of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the VINCENT V. RODGERS FUNERAL HOME, 805 Pennsylvania Ave., Irwin, Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:30 p.m. to be held in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Jonathan P. Hardt officiating. Interment Homestead Cemetery.

ROBERT ERNETTE HART
Robert Ernette Hart, 53, of Greensburg, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. Bobby's courage and sense of humor during his long battle with cancer were inspirational to his family and friends. Robert was born April 7, 1946, in Greensburg, a son of Stephen J. and Helen E. Hart of Smethport, Pa. Prior to retirement, Bobby was self-employed as a roofing contractor for 28 years. He served in the U.S. Navy from November 1964 to November 1968 aboard the USS Garcia. Bobby was a member of the VFW Post 33 of Greensburg, the American Legion Post 981 of South Greensburg and a life member of the Greensburg Volunteer Fire Department Hose Co. No. 8, the Pennsylvania State Firemen's Association and the Westmoreland County Firemen's Association. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral and a daily visitor to Our Lady of Grace Church for the last several years. In addition to his parents, Bobby is survived by his daughter, Angela L. Hart of Arlington, Va.; his former wife, Jacki Rahl Hart of Greensburg; the following brothers and sisters: Stephen and his wife, Patricia, of Greensburg, Thomas and his wife, Laurie, of Orlando, Fla., Nancy Repine and her husband, Ray, of Vintondale, Helen Mathias of Moorefield, W.Va., Frannie Sellers and her husband, Gary, of Greensburg, James and his wife, Karen, of Smethport and William of Greensburg; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the BACHA FUNERAL HOME INC., 516 Stanton at Green streets, Greensburg, Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Saturday at 11 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Church, Greensburg. Interment with full military honors accorded by the VFW Post 33 Honor Guard of Greensburg will follow in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Hempfield Township. The Greensburg Volunteer Fire Department will meet at the funeral home Friday at 7:30 p.m. to conduct a memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 1011 Old Salem Road, Greensburg, PA 15601.

FRANKLIN D. SUNDRY
Franklin D. "Frank" Sundry, 81, of New Alexandria RD3, died Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2000, in Westmoreland Regional Hospital in Greensburg. He was born March 5, 1918, at Torrance, Pa., a son of the late Salvatore and Candida Richiuta Sundry. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, attaining the rank of sergeant. He was retired from the Adam Eidemiller Corp. of Greensburg with 30 years of service. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church of New Alexandria, where he belonged to the Holy Name Society. He was a member of the New Alexandria Lions Club, the Salem Ukes, Salem Gun Club, the Salem Golf League, and VFW Post 7745 of New Alexandria. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Adeline M. Sundry; brothers, Angelo "A.P.," Charles "Scats," Albert "Spun," Calvin "Callie," Alfred, Victor, and James; and sisters, Sara Mastrorocco, Nellie Petrarca, and Helen Calderone. Survived by a daughter, Candy Kenney and husband, Bill, of Greensburg; three sons, Richard and wife, Jan, of Miami, Fla., Donald and wife, Bea, of Greensburg, and Frank Jr. and wife, Cindy, of Greensburg; grandchildren, Michael Kenney and wife, Andrea, of Boston, Mass., Beth Kenney of San Francisco, Calif., Jillian and Brett Sundry of Miami, Fla., Stacie and Rob Driscoll of Export, Nicholas and Laina Sundry of Greensburg, and Frankie, Christina, and Lukas Sundry, all of Greensburg; a great-grandchild, Maddison Driscoll; several nieces and nephews; and a brother, Bill Sundry of Torrance. Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and Washington streets, New Alexandria. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. in St. James Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Lawrence T. Persico as celebrant. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Unity Township. Memorial contributions to the New Alexandria Lions Club.

MARY AGNES TROUT
Mary Agnes Trout, 82, of Youngwood, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, at her residence. She was born Nov. 5, 1917, in Mt. Pleasant Township, a daughter of the late Walter and Mary Musgrove Trout. Mary was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church of Youngwood. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by Robertshaw Controls in assembly and also the maintenance department. She is survived by a brother, Floyd Trout of Tarrs; and several nieces and nephews, and great- and great-great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by five brothers, Walter, Gilbert, Harry, Luther, and Dyke Trout; and three sisters, Anna Trout, Josephine Trout, and Lillian McManus. Friends will be received in the JAY B. PETERSON FUNERAL HOME, Fifth and North Depot streets, Youngwood, Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 1 until 3:30 p.m., at which time her funeral service will be held with the Rev. David S. Jack officiating. Interment will follow in the Youngwood Cemetery. Eugene G. Saloom, funeral director.

CAROL A. FRANK
Carol A. Frank, 64, of Murrysville, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2000, at home. Beloved wife of Fred J. Frank of Murrysville; mother of David G. Frank of Long Beach, Calif., and Valerie J. Frank of Columbus, Ohio; and sister of Bette Nelson of Daytona Beach, Fla. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the GENE H. CORL INC. FUNERAL CENTER OF MONROEVILLE, 4335 Northern Pike. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in the Mother of Sorrows Church, Murrysville, Monday at 10 a.m. She was born Oct. 24, 1935, in Columbus, Ohio, a daughter of the late Roger and Corrine Edwards Schwinne. Burial Resurrection Cemetery Wednesday from 1 to 1:30 p.m. in Lewis Center, Ohio. Donations may be made to the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Western Pennsylvania, 555 Grant St., Suite 425, Pittsburgh, PA 15219, or the Dream Foundation, 621 Chapala St., Suite D, Santa Barbara, CA 93101-7011.

HENRY C. GARLOW
Henry C. Garlow, 90, of Irwin, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000, in Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. He was born Sept. 30, 1909, in Arona, a son of the late Henry and Alice Henry Garlow. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a fitter for Westinghouse of Trafford. He was a member of the Brush Creek Lutheran Church, and a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 359, and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 236, both of Irwin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by twin sisters, Ruth Edwards and Kathleen Detar; and a brother, Paul. Surviving are his wife, Lucy B. Garlow; a brother, Donald Garlow of Greensburg; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the JOSEPH F. OTT FUNERAL HOME INC., Fifth and Oak streets, Irwin, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in the Westmoreland County Memorial Park, Greensburg.

JAMES J. DANKO
James J. Danko, 68, of Stahlstown, formerly of Akron, Ohio, died Friday, Feb. 4, 2000. He was born Jan. 30, 1932, in Stewart, Pa., a son of the late John S. and Margaret M. Onusko Danko. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Willochell Danko. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Edward (Patricia) Smartnick of Stahlstown; a brother, David A. Danko and wife, Cathy, of Greensburg; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the C. RICHARD McCAULEY FUNERAL HOME INC., Youngwood, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held at the funeral home Monday at 10 a.m. with Father John S. Szczesny officiating.
