ETHEL F. HENDERSON ROSENSTEEL
Ethel F. "Fisher" Henderson Rosensteel, 85, of Route 259 Highway, New Florence, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 1999, at home. Born July 7, 1914, in Climax, she was a daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Cameron) Harris. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Hillis L. Henderson; sisters, Nell Flangan, Clara Crostley and Elizabeth Harris; brothers, John and Russell Harris; stepson, Barry Rosensteel; granddaughter, Nancy Nixon; and great-grandson, Jeremy. Surviving are her husband, Alvin H. Rosensteel; these children: Alice, wife of Kenneth Reeder, of McConnellsburg, Mae, wife of John Forsythe, of Robinson, Isabelle, wife of Harry Boring, of New Florence RD1, Audrey, wife of Richard Stiffey, of Meyersdale, and Leland Henderson Sr. of New Florence RD2; stepson, Alvin H. Rosensteel Jr. of Mt. Pleasant; 21 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. She was a member of Germany United Methodist Church. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the KENNETH A. STUART FUNERAL HOME, New Florence, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday with the Rev. Dwayne Burfield officiating. Interment Isabelle Cemetery.

ROSE J. CANNIZZARO
Rose J. Cannizzaro, of New Alexandria, passed away Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999, at the Bethlen Home, Ligonier. The youngest and last survivor of the 13 children of Antonio and Rose Catalano Cannizzaro, Rose was born in Sagamore. She was valedictorian of her class at Sagamore High School, and attended a business college in Indiana, Pa. She worked at the Sagamore Post Office until she moved to New York City, where she was employed by the Thomas Y. Crowell Publishing Co. as the assistant to the controller. In 1963, Rose drove herself to California and settled in the San Fernando Valley, and bought her first home in North Hollywood. She worked as the assistant to the sales manager for the GREFCO Corp. in Los Angeles for 15 years. She then embarked upon a career in real estate, and became an associate of Herbert Hawkins Realtors in Sylmar, Calif. While in real estate she was an officer in the San Fernando Valley Board of Realtors, and was active in Toastmasters International, winning several awards as a speaker and area governor. Upon her retirement in 1988, she returned to Pennsylvania and settled in New Alexandria. She served as president of the New Alexandria Autumn Leaves and was active in her parish, St. James Catholic Church, serving as a member of the choir, the Parish Council, and an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist. In addition to her parents, Rose was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters: Annie (Cogliostro), Andy, Carmella (Ripepi), Neno, Dan, Philip, Joseph, Philomena, Theresia ®MDBO¯®MDNM¯(Alfieri), Grace, Antonio, and Helen. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Mildred (Mrs. Philip) Cannizzaro of Mechanicsburg; and several nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved, including Frank Ripepi of Long Island, N.Y., Rosemary (Ripepi) Bell of Fishkill, N.Y., Gloria (Ripepi) Duffy of Highland, Calif., Lewis Alfieri and Andrea (Alfieri) Peterson of Long Island, N.Y., Don Cannizzaro of Mechanicsburg, Elizabeth Rose (Cannizzaro) Campbell of Ligonier, and the family of her late nephew, Antonio Cannizzaro of Fayette City. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m. at the P. DAVID NEWHOUSE FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church and Washington streets, New Alexandria. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. St. James Catholic Church, New Alexandria, with the Rev. Father Lawrence T. Persico as celebrant. Interment will be in the St. Bernard's Cemetery, Indiana, Pa. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of one's choice.

EDWARD L. DWOREK
Edward L. Dworek, 78, of Florida, formerly of Delmont and Glassport, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999. He was born Oct. 17, 1921, in Pittsburgh, a son of the late Joseph and Sophie Ratajzak Dworek. He retired from Gulf Oil in Delmont, where he worked as a truck driver for 37 years. He was a former member of the United Church of Christ in Delmont and was a member of the American Legion and VFW in Delmont and in Lehigh Acres, Fla. Surviving are his wife, Helen Widel Dworek; three daughters, Beverly Dodds of Swissvale, Susan Kuhn of Norvelt and Lisa Stevens of Florida; three sons, Edward of Murrysville, Wayne of Pittsburgh and Ronald of Florida; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Donna Mularski of Port Vue; brothers, Lawrence of Liberty Borough, Fred of Marienville, Pa., and Jack Dworek of New Bethlehem, Pa.; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Sunday and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the WILLIG FUNERAL HOME, 220 Ninth Ave., McKeesport, where service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.

ANGELO V. IOVINO
Angelo V. Iovino, 87, of Trafford, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999, in Beverly Healthcare. He was born Oct. 14, 1912, in Harrisville, the son of the late Pietro and Bernadette Iovino. Prior to retirement, he was employed as a supervisor for U.S. Steel. He was a member of the Community United Methodist Church, Harrison City. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth L. Lynch Iovino; and a daughter, Janet Bergensky. He is survived by a daughter, Judy Brennan of Pittsburgh; four grandchildren, Lori and Mark Brennan, Lisa Kelly and Brett Bergensky; and three great- grandchildren. Friends will be received Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the DAVID A. RITTER FUNERAL HOME, 220 Edgewood Ave., Trafford. A funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Dale R. Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park, Monroeville.

MEREDITH L. (SCHWARTZ) MOMYER
Meredith L. (Schwartz) Momyer, 76, of Arthur Avenue, Scottdale, passed away Friday morning, Dec. 10, 1999, at her residence. Meredith was born in Scottdale on New Year's Day, Jan. 1, 1923, the only child of the late Arno and Elizabeth Werkman Schwartz. Meredith was a loving homemaker, mother and grandmother, and was a longtime member of Calvin United Presbyterian Church in Scottdale. She was also a graduate of Scottdale High School with the Class of 1941. Meredith is survived by her loving family: two sons, Thomas W. Momyer Jr. and his wife, Pam, of Matawan, N.J., and Doug A. Momyer and his wife, Karen, of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren, Victoria, Ross and Kristin Momyer; and a very special friend, Dave Carroll. In addition to her parents, Meredith was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas W. Momyer, on Aug. 13, 1975. Family and friends will be received at the ROBERT B. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 105 Spring St., Scottdale, (724) 887-5300, Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 12 to 1 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Charles H. Hartbauer officiating. Graveside committal services and interment will follow in Scottdale Cemetery, next to her late husband. SCOTT E. POKLEMBO
Scott E. Poklembo, 33, of Youngstown, Pa., died Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999, at his home. He was born May 10, 1966, in Latrobe, a son of Paul Poklembo and the late Nancy J. (Wedge) Poklembo. Scott was a machinist and worked with his father in the family business. He was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Latrobe, a member and past lieutenant of the Youngstown Volunteer Fire Department, and bowled with the Palumbo's Bowling League. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Sheila M. (DeMine) Poklembo, who is expecting their second child; his daughter, Samantha R. Poklembo; two brothers, Richard Poklembo of Lancaster and Jeffrey Poklembo and his wife, Coreen, of Derry; two sisters, Lori Thomas and her husband, James Jr., of Pleasant Unity and Lisa Frye and her husband, Shawn, of Latrobe; his father-in-law, Donald DeMine and his wife, Diane, of Latrobe; his mother-in-law, Marie Healey and her husband, William, of Mutual; a brother-in-law, Donald DeMine Jr. and his wife, Shelly, of Youngstown; four sisters-in-law, Rhonda Lucas of Latrobe, Constance DeMine of Latrobe, and Laura and Alexsys Healey of Mutual; and the following nieces and nephews: Heather and Kelli Thomas, Robbie, Sara and Shannon DeMine, and Josalyn Lucas. Friends will be received at the HARTMAN-GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME INC., 1500 Ligonier St., Latrobe, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Latrobe, with the church pastors officiating. Interment will follow in Unity Cemetery, Unity Township. The Youngstown Volunteer Fire Department will hold services at 6:45 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. GEORGE EDWARD STEEVES
George Edward Steeves, 63, of Fort Worth, Texas, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1999, in Fort Worth. He was born Oct. 31, 1936, in Derry. He was a graduate of Michigan State University and Florida Atlantic University. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He taught high school in Detroit, Mich., and Hollywood, Fla. George taught and coached at S.W. High and Dunbar High in Fort Worth. He will be missed by his many friends and all whose lives he touched. Preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Reginald Steeves; two sisters, Sylvia Mekic and Nettie Smith; and his brother, Reginald Steeves. Surviving are his wife, Janice; son, Ken Steeves; stepsons, Chris Fair and wife, Jennifer, and Corey Fair of Chicago, Ill.; daughters, Kristy Myers and husband, Russell, and Karen Steeves, all of Fort Worth, Texas; stepdaughter, Michelle Fisher of Fort Worth, Texas; brothers, Don Steeves and wife, Sherrie, and Tom Steeves and wife, Janet, all of Latrobe, and Jack Steeves and wife, Phyllis, of Johnstown; sisters, Sarah Sigafoes and husband, Clarence, of New Alexandria, Wanda Holderbaum and husband, Frank, and Shelby Dixon and husband, Pete, all of Blairsville; grandchildren, Marcos and Nicolas of Fort Worth; numerous nieces and nephews; and beloved pets, Hobeaux, Daisy and Holmes. A memorial service was held Friday, Dec. 10, in Trinity Lutheran Church, Fort Worth. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association. Viola Habrat Pawlikowski
Viola Habrat Pawlikowski, 91, of Mt. Pleasant, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, at the Parish House in Perryopolis. She was born June 18, 1908, in Mt. Pleasant, a daughter of the late Adam and Helen Jurczak Habrat. She was a member of the Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church, Mt. Pleasant, and the Rosary Society. She was a student of the former Transfiguration School. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the Bryce Bros. Glass and later the Lenox Crystal of Mt. Pleasant. She is survived by her son, Thadeus Philip Pawlikowski and his wife, Billie, of Fort Collins, Colo.; two grandsons, Robert and John Pawlikowski; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Albert Pawlikowski; five sisters, Bridget Habrat, Helen Habrat, Ann Habrat, Angela Barbara Nell Habrat and Mary Balcerek; and five brothers, Joseph, Frank, John, Ted and Stanley Habrat. Friends will be received in the EUGENE G. SALOOM FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Mt. Pleasant, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in the Transfiguration R.C. Church. Interment will follow in the Transfiguration Cemetery.

Donald F. Weis
Donald F. Weis, 51, of Export, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999, in his home. He was born Feb. 12, 1948, in Wilkinsburg, a son of Barbara (Loughner) Curry of Export and the late Fredrick Weis. Donald was a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps, having served in the Vietnam War. In addition to his birth mother, he is survived by his mother, June (Loughner) Pellegrino; stepfather, James Curry; his loving wife, Joyce (Stahl) Weis; two daughters, Cindy Wallace and husband, Homer, of Slickville and Karen McKay and husband, Dan, of Murrysville; a son, George Greer of Uniontown; three brothers, James Kocher of New Kensington, David Kocher of Slickville and Fredrick Weis and wife, Lois, of Pittsburgh; two sisters, Linda Johnson of Plum and Holly Davenport of Delmont; three delightful grandchildren, Danielle and Daniel Wallace and Daniel McKay; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends were received at the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC. AT TWIN VALLEY, 463 Athena Drive, Delmont, (724) 468-1177, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Donald's funeral service will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Frederick Heitzenroder officiating. Interment will follow in Twin Valley Memorial Park with full military rites accorded by the U.S. Marine Corps, Pittsburgh. Kevin P. Altman, supervisor, in charge of arrangements.

JOHN E. ANKENY
John E. Ankeny, 91, of Bolivar, formerly of Ligonier, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 1999, in the Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. He was born Oct. 8, 1908, in Ligonier Township, a son of the late John C. and Mary (Dennison) Ankeny. Prior to his retirement, he was a farmer in the Ligonier Valley for years. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army. Husband of the late Gilberta (Sheffler) Ankeny, who died in 1956, and the late Nettie A. (Henderson) Ankeny, who died in 1988; also preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Owen, Frank, and William Ankeny; and a sister, Margaret Henderson. He is survived by two stepsons, Ernest G. Henderson of New Florence RD1 and Clifford (and his wife, Sherry) Henderson of Ligonier RD1; three step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Anna Mary Mulligan of New Florence RD1; a brother, James Ankeny of Florida; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the J. PAUL McCRACKEN FUNERAL HOME, Bolivar, where services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jim Tomb officiating. Interment Fort Palmer Cemetery, Bolivar.
