JEAN L. MICKEY
Jean L. Mickey, 73, of Level Green, died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, in her home. She was born Nov. 11, 1925, in Turtle Creek, a daughter of the late Francis "French" and Florence Johnston Horner. She was a volunteer member of the Association of Retarded Citizens of Westmoreland County. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John B. Mickey, in 1980; a son, John "Jack" Mickey; a brother, Robert Horner; and a sister, Pauline Brown. She is survived by three sons, Gary Mickey of Valley Forge, Robert and wife, Maryanne Mickey, of Level Green, and Scott and wife, Megan Mickey, of Penn Township; three daughters, Claudia and husband, Jim Matarazzo, of Penn Township, Barbara and husband, Mark Vallozzi, of Greensburg, and Beth Ann Mickey of Level Green; a brother, Eugene Horner of Plum; and 12 grandchildren. Friends were received at the JAMES E. LINDSAY FUNERAL HOME INC., Main Street, Harrison City, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Frank Podolinski officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park, Monroeville. Donations may be made to the ARC Westmoreland, RD12, Box 179, Greensburg, PA 15601.

MICHAEL GORDON PETERSON
Michael Gordon Peterson, 19, of Hempfield Township, died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999. He was born July 31, 1980, a son of Donovan and Judith Gordon Peterson of Greensburg RD9. He was a student at Penn State University, New Kensington. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg, where he also was an altar server for 10 years. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Merton D. and Frances L. Peterson. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Donovan M. Peterson, at home; two sisters, Dr. Christine M. Peterson, D.P.M., and her close friend, Dr. George Emmons, D.P.M., of Mamaroneck, N.Y., and Elizabeth M. Peterson of Philadelphia; his maternal grandparents, John J. and Mae Gordon of Castle Shannon; and a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends. Friends were received at the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 9:45 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. in the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, Greensburg. Interment will follow in the Greensburg Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lupus Foundation or Community HomeHealth Care of Jeannette, 1170 Greengate Mall, Greensburg, PA 15601.

GRACE W. SMITH Grace W. Smith, 86, of Bridgeville, formerly of Uniontown, died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, at St. Clair Hospital, Mt. Lebanon. Friends will be received at the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, 80 Morgantown St., Uniontown, Wednesday, when a blessing service will be held at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass and Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. in St. Therese Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Kenneth G. Zaccagnini, V.F., as celebrant. Interment will follow in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Uniontown.

LLOYD FRANKLIN STAMY
Lloyd Franklin Stamy, 78, of Fox Chapel, on Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, after an extended illness. He was the beloved husband of 50 years of Barbara Lee Owens Stamy; devoted father of Lloyd Franklin Stamy Jr. of Shadyside, Stephen Reese Stamy of Shadyside, Cynthia Scott Stamy of London, England, and Susan Blythe Stamy Peterson (Mrs. Charles J. Peterson III) of Sullivan's Island, S.C.; and the proud grandfather of Caroline MacLauchlin Stamy of Shadyside and Hayden Grace Stamy of London, England. An eighth-generation Pennsylvanian, Mr. Stamy was born in Greenspring, Cumberland County, Jan. 16, 1921, and graduated from Shippensburg University in 1942 with a B.S. degree in business administration. Although he worked on several major construction projects, including the building of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, the majority of his career involved the sale of heavy earth-moving equipment. He joined Beckwith Machinery Co. in 1944 and was named sales manager in 1949. In 1952, he founded the Lloyd F. Stamy Co., a construction equipment dealer and real estate developer. A deacon, elder, and Sunday school teacher at the Shadyside Presbyterian Church, Mr. Stamy was a member of Masonic Lodge 45, and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite of Free Masonry, Valley of Pittsburgh, and a member of the Syria Shrine. He was also a member of the University Club and Wahnita Lodge Hunting and Fishing Camp. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 4, at Shadyside Presbyterian Church. Friends will be received in the church parlor Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Thursday following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Shadyside Presbyterian Church, 5121 Westminster Place, Pittsburgh, PA 15232. Arrangements by JOHN A. HELEN (ROHALL) STASHICK
Helen (Rohall) Stashick, 82, of Uniontown, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, in the Uniontown Hospital. Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOMES INC., 139 W. Fayette St., Uniontown, Wednesday until 9 a.m. when a blessing service will be held, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown, with the Rev. Father Alexander L. Pleban as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

WILLIAM A. THOMAS SR., O.D.
William A. Thomas Sr., O.D., 73, of Connellsville, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 1999, at home with his loving family at his side. He was born Jan. 17, 1926, in Uniontown, a son of the late George and Anna (Matthew) Thomas. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Hazel George; and a brother, Thomas J. Thomas. Dr. Thomas was an optometrist for over 45 years with his office located on Pittsburgh Street in Connellsville. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the U.S. Army Air Corps (African Theater), attended Waynesburg College, was a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, and was a member of St. Rita's Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville, and St. George Maronite Catholic Church, Uniontown. He was the president of the Newman Club, the Youth Center, the Lebanese Club, the Kiwanis Club, and the Lions Club; regional vice president of the Jaycees; vice president and director of the Pleasant Valley Country Club; a director of the Yough Valley National Bank, and the Scottdale Bank and Trust; and served on the Penn State University, Fayette Campus, Advisory Board. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Florence M. (Koury) Thomas; four children, Karen A. Galderisi and husband, Carmen M. Galderisi, of Hopwood, Garry J. Thomas, M.D., and wife, Mary Jo Thomas, O.D., of Berwyn, Pa., Denise Thomas Wilcox, O.D., Ph.D., and husband, David Wilcox, Ph.D., of Doylestown, and William A. Thomas Jr., M.D., and wife, Michelle Thomas, M.D., of Lewes, Del.; seven grandchildren, Chad D. Galderisi, Carmen Brittaney Galderisi, Kimberly Thomas, Koury Thomas, Kathryn Wilcox, Zachary Wilcox, and William A. Thomas III; four brothers and sisters, Abraham Thomas of Melbourne, Fla., Elizabeth Molnar of Uniontown, Joseph Thomas of Parma, Ohio, and Mary Mosako of Uniontown; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends were received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC. AT SYLVAN HEIGHTS CEMETERY, 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown, Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be held Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in St. George Maronite Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Joseph R. David and the Rev. Father Michael Bucci as celebrants. Entombment will follow in the Sylvan Heights Cemetery Mausoleum where military honors will be accorded by Hopwood AMVETS Post #103. The Ladies of the Parish will recite the rosary Wednesday at 4 p.m. The service of Ginnaz will be held at 8 p.m.

CLARENCE H. WOODWARD
Clarence H. Woodward, 92, of Greensburg, died Monday, Nov. 1, 1999, in the Westmoreland Regional Hospital, Greensburg. He was born in Lloydsville, Sept. 18, 1907, a son of the late Frederick and Caroline Green Woodward. He was a retired sales representative with the Limbach Co. in Pittsburgh. He was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church and its Sunday school class. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers. He is survived by his loving wife, Jean L. Woodward; two sons, Cortland D. of Horseheads, N.Y., and Bruce C. Woodward of Greensburg; seven granddaughters; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Caroline Harris of Syracuse, N.Y., and Pearl Frye of Irwin; and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends received Wednesday at the KEPPLE-GRAFT FUNERAL HOME, 524 N. Main St., Greensburg, from 11 a.m. until noon, at which time services will be held with the Rev. Scott Peterman officiating. Private entombment will follow in the Twin Valley Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be given to the Otterbein United Methodist Church.

RUBY AARTHUN
Ruby Aarthun, of the South Side, on Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999. Wife of the late Sverre. Beloved mother of Charlotte Campbell, Stina Levithan, and Roland Oslund. Grandmother of Ernest Tack, Lisa Shemasek, Joseph Slick, Erik Slick, and Evan Oslund. Also, survived by eight great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the WENSLOVAS MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 79 S. 19th St., South Side, where services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. Ruby was a member of the Scandinavian Society of Western PA, Sons of Norway, Humane Society, Farm Animal Sanctuary, and Native American Indians Rites.

CAROLYN MARIE SUPANCIC BOLD
Carolyn Marie Supancic Bold, 86, of Penn, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, in Beverly Healthcare, Murrysville. She was born Jan. 28, 1913, in Claridge, a daughter of the late Frank and Anna Lazar Supancic. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church of Penn. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Leo Bold; a son, Alan; two brothers, John and Frank Supancic; and a sister, Mollie Supancic. Survived by two daughters, Mary Ann Price and her husband, Richard, of Forest Hills and Alberta Cervenak and her husband, Ron, of Murrysville; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Pete and Bill Supancic, both of Claridge; two sisters, Annie Rednock of Export and Elsie Freustorfer of Bethel Park; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the MASON-GELDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 201 N. First St., Jeannette, Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Boniface Church, Penn. Interment will follow in St. Boniface Cemetery, Hempfield Township. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Beverly Healthcare, Logans Ferry Road, Murrysville, PA 15668.

JOHN W. BURWINKEL SR.
John W. "Jack" Burwinkel Sr., died suddenly Friday, Nov. 19, 1999. Beloved husband of Lois Ifft Burwinkel. Father of John W. Burwinkel Jr., Beth Burwinkel Shafer, and the late Loann Burwinkel. Brother of Lawrence G. Burwinkel and the late Kenneth C. Burwinkel. Also, survived by seven grandchildren. Friends will be received at the JOHN A. FREYVOGEL SONS INC., 4900 Centre Ave. at Devonshire Street, Pittsburgh, Monday and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Wednesday.
