Diane (Johnson) Cole
Diane (Johnson) Cole, 66, of Leisure Drive, an employee of AAA, died August 3, 2000, at Kent County Memorial Hospital, Warwick. She was the wife of Frank Cole. Born in Wakefield, a daughter of the late Donald H. and Irene D. (Austin) Johnson, she had resided in Warwick for 35 years before moving to South Kingstown seven years ago. She was an operator employed by American Automobile Association in Warwick for 10 years until she became ill. She was a communicant of St. Luke Episcopal Church, East Greenwich, and an active member of the Episcopal Cursillo movement. Besides her husband, she leaves two daughters, Karen J. Millette of Wesley Chapel, Fla., and Pamela J. Cole of East Lyme, Conn.; a sister, Karen Lawson of Hazel Park, Mich.; and two grandchildren. A funeral service was held in Urquhart-Murphy Funeral Home, 800 Greenwich Ave., Route 5, Warwick. Burial was in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.

Donald J. “Bones” McLeod
Donald J. “Bones” McLeod, 68, of North Fair Street, a retired chemical operator, died August 3, 2000, at home. He was the husband of Patricia (Grossguth) McLeod. Mr. and Mrs. McLeod were married for 43 years. Born in Providence, a son of the late Anna McGovern, he lived in Warwick all his life. Mr. McLeod was a chemical operator for Northland Chemical Co., Providence, for six years, retiring in 1988. He had been a chemical operator at the Fields Point Mfg. Co., Providence, for 13 years. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a life member of the Pawtuxet Athletic Club and had been its social chairman. A longtime member of the Gaspee Days Committee, he was the recipient of its Abraham Whipple Award for service. He was a member of the Johnson Post VFW, and Teamsters Local 251. He was a former member of the Pawtuxet Rangers. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, Michael A. McLeod of Girard, Kan.; three daughters, Katherine A. McLeod, Barbara E. Gomes and Tricia D. Phillips, all of Warwick; two brothers, John J. McLeod of Providence and Joseph McGovern of Providence; a sister, Mary Jane Fitzgibbons of Cranston; five grandchildren, David J. Pombo III, Jessica and Sean McLeod, Christian and Dylan Gomes; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral was held in Frank P. Trainor & Sons Funeral Home, 982 Warwick Ave. Burial with military honors was in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Meeting Street School, 667 Waterman Ave., East Providence, RI 02914.

Blanche Zeobrowski-Ramos
Blanche Zeobrowski-Ramos, 81, of Oaklawn Avenue, Cranston, a retired data processor and former Providence crossing guard, died August 3, 2000, at Kent County Memorial Hospital, Warwick. She was the wife of Emilio T. Ramos and the late Matthew F. Zeobrowski. Born in Fitchburg, Mass., a daughter of the late Joseph and Rosae (Bormida) Anoskivtsky, she had been a Providence resident for many years, moving to Cranston in 1990. She was a data processor for Fleet Bank in Providence for 10 years, retiring in 1989. She was one of the first crossing guards in Providence, from 1952 to 1960. She was a member of the Cranston Senior Center. Besides her husband, she leaves two sons, Matthew F. Ziobrowski of Northborough, Mass., and Daniel M. Ziobrowski of Warwick; two daughters, Jean A. Parrillo of Johnston and Theresa D. Ramano of Providence; a brother, Albert Anoskopey of Middleboro, Mass.; a sister, Bladge Beaudry of Providence; and nine grandchildren, MaryBeth Fiore, Daniel, Dina, Darren Parrillo, Dana Palangio, Shane Romano, Daniel, Jonathan and Briana Ziobrowski; and two great-grandchildren, Derek and Devon Parrillo. The funeral was held from Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick, with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Rocco Church, Atwood Avenue, Johnston. Committal prayers followed in Swan Point Cemetery Chapel, Blackstone Boulevard, Providence. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Assoc., 245 Waterman St., Providence, RI 02906 will be appreciated.

William J. Allen Jr.
William J. Allen Jr., 82, of Williamsburg Circle, a retired railroad car inspector, died August 4, 2000, at Cedar Crest Nursing Home, Cranston. He was the husband of Mildred L. (Boyce) Allen of Warwick. Born in Providence, a son of the late William J. and Mary Allen, he was a resident of Warwick for 43 years, previously residing in Providence. He was a rail car inspector for 43 years with Penn Central, New Haven/New York/Hartford Railroads and CONRAIL, retiring in 1976. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, William J. Allen of Woonsocket; three daughters, Judith M. Zabbo and Barbara E. Walaska, both of Warwick, and Mary A. Waite of Georgia, Vt.; and 11 grandchildren and a great-grandson. He was the brother of the late Joseph Allen and Agnes Sliney. The funeral was held from Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. William Church, Pettaconsett Ave., Warwick. Burial with full military honors was in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Alopecia Areata Foundation, PO Box 150760, San Rafael, CA 94915-0760, will be appreciated.

Robin Ann Pellegrino
Robin Ann Pellegrino, 35, formerly of Cove Avenue, died August 4, 2000, at Pine Grove Health Center, Pascoag. Born in Warwick, a daughter of the late Albert and Rose (Muscente) Pellegrino, she had lived in Warwick before moving to the health center last year. She leaves a sister, Traci A. Pellegrino of West Warwick; and three brothers, Edward Pellegrino of West Warwick, and Steven and David Pellegrino, both of Warwick. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Clement Church, Long Street. Burial was in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.

Teresa L. (Caiazza) Pirraglia
Teresa L. (Caiazza) Pirraglia, of Hesperia, Calif., died August 4, 2000, in Foremost Care Center in Hesperia. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Antonio and Filomena (Bonafigilia) Caiazza, she was a long time resident of Warwick. She had also resided at the Sparrows Point assisted living center in East Greenwich. She leaves a daughter, Bianca G. Feroce of Punta Gorda, Fla.; a son Walter C. Caiazza of Moreno Valley, Calif.; and five grandchildren.

Charlotte G. Rogers
Charlotte G. Rogers, 83, of Commonwealth Avenue, formerly of Fairway Drive, Cranston, died August 4, 2000, at Kent Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late James F. Rogers Jr. Born in Providence, a daughter of the late Herbert S. Stewart and Emily (Hoyle) Stewart-Ward, she had lived in Cranston most of her life. An avid golfer, Mrs. Rogers was a charter member of the Quidnessett Country Club, North Kingstown. She enjoyed painting and traveling. She leaves a daughter, Linda A. Nash of Coventry; a son, James F. Rogers III of Derby, Conn.; and four grandsons, James F. Roberts IV, Matthew R. Rogers, Timothy D. Nash and Jaime Rogers-Nash. She was the sister of the late Bertha A. Howe. A committal service was held in the St. Ann Cemetery Chapel, Cranston. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Summertime Fund, c/o Providence Journal, 75 Fountain St., Providence, RI 02902.

Irene D. (Pulde) Wilfand
Irene D. (Pulde) Wilfand, 69, of First Street, Worcester, Mass., a retired bookkeeper, died August 4, 2000, at Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Boston. She was the wife of Frank M. Wilfand. They were married for 49 years. Born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Joseph and Bessie (Ulman) Pulde, she was a lifelong resident of Worcester. She was a bookkeeper for Lerner Shops and Martin Wallpaper, both in Worcester, for many years, retiring in 1980. Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Wayne L. Wilfand of Warwick; a brother, Nathan Pulde, and a sister, Toby Lapin, both of Worcester; and three grandchildren. The funeral was held in Perlman Funeral Home, 1026 Main St., Worcester. Burial was in Worcester Hebrew Cemetery.

J. Henry Buote
J. Henry Buote, 84, of Calderwood Drive, a former television shop owner, died August 5, 2000, at Kent Regency Nursing Home. He was the husband of Ethel L. (Veasey) Buote. Born in Providence, a son of the late Peter J. and Maude (Gervais) Buote, he lived in Warwick since 1949. He had owned Buote Television from 1954 to 1976, and had been an auto mechanic for the former Hurd and Goldberg auto dealership from 1946 until 1954. He was a Marine veteran of World War II. An avid bowler, he was a member of various local bowling leagues. Mr. Buote was a member of St. Rose and Clement Parish and Warwick Senior Citizens. Besides his wife, he leaves three sons, Jerry Buote of Warwick, Peter Buote of Annapolis, Md., and Paul Buote of Moorestown, N.J.; a sister, Mary Dunphy of Providence; and seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Francis and Albert Buote. The funeral was held from Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Home, 2435 Warwick Ave., with a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Clement Church, Long Street. Burial with military honors was in Rhode Island Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.

Harvey H. Willard Sr.
Harvey H. Willard Sr., 75, of Wauregan, Conn., a machinist at Pervel Industry in Plainfield for more than 20 years before retiring in 1983, died August 4, 2000, at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center, Worcester. He was the husband of Ella (Carrier) Willard. Born in Providence on July 4, 1925, he was a son of the late Howard and Myrtle (Reed) Willard. A Navy veteran of World War II, he saw action in the Pacific and received a number of medals. He was a former post commander of the Wauregan VFW Post 6875. He was a former member of the Teamsters union. Mr. Willard was a dealer at flea markets around New England, and enjoyed playing cards and doing crossword puzzles. Besides his wife, he leaves four sons, Harvey Willard Jr. and Dennis Willard, both in Connecticut, David Willard of Wauregan and Steven Willard of Moosup, Conn.; five stepsons, James Mazzarella Jr. of Danielson, Conn., Rene Mazzarella and Mark Mazzarella of Rogers, Conn., Brian Mazzarella of New Britain and Michael Mazzarella of Cheshire; four stepdaughters, Ella Grimshaw of Rogers, Bernice Harding in Florida, Ann Delaurentis of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Tammy Steinbrick of Putnam; four brothers, Frank V. Leonard Jr., Norman Leonard and Keith Leonard, all of Warwick, and Arthur Leonard in Texas; a sister, Virginia Remington of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. He was the father of the late James Willard and the brother of the late Richard Leohard.
