GLORIAN E. WALL
Mrs. Glorian Easterling Wall, widow of Leonard Cooper Wall Sr., died Friday night in a Columbia hospital. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2001, at 2 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Hartsville. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Lung Association.
Mrs. Wall died Friday, Jan. 26, in a Columbia hospital.
She was born in Hartsville, a daughter of the late John Lawrence and Lena Fisher Easterling.
Surviving are two sons, Leonard Cooper Wall Jr. and Stephen Fisher Wall, both of Columbia; one sister, Mrs. Edith Bourne Blizzard of Georgetown; and one brother, John Lawrence Easterling Jr. of Spartanburg; three nieces and three nephews, Julian Bourne Horst of Columbia, Cmdr. William Davis Bourne Jr. of Nasvhille, Tenn., Beth Easterling Smoak of Pinopolis, Glorian Easterling Hayes, John Lawrence Easterling III, and William Fisher Easterling of Spartanburg.

WILLIE J. WHITE
LAMAR – Services for Willie James "Bill" White, 69, were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2001, in Lamar Church of God with the Rev. Leverene Kirkland, pastor, officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery directed by Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home. Mr. White died Saturday, Jan. 20, 2001, in a Florence hospital after an illness. He was born in Darlington County, a son of the late Ed and Annie Josey White. He was a member of and attended Lamar Church of God all his life. He lived all his life in the Darlington County (Lamar) area.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted family; two sisters, Fannie (Roland) Andrews of Lamar and Mrs. Tomia Cener Small of Kansas City, Mo.; a brother, Charlie (Helen) White of Newark, N.J.; nieces and nephews.

DANNIE DOUGLAS SR.
DOVESVILLE – Services for Dannie Douglas Sr. were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2001, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Miller, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in the church cemetery directed by Mitchell-Josey Funeral Home.
Mr. Douglas died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2001, at his residence after an illness. He was born in Darlington County, a son of the late Sampson and Hattie Davis Douglas. He was the widow of Mrs. Evelyn McKeiver Douglas. Mr. Douglas lived all his life in the Dovesville community where he was a life member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
Survivors include six loving children, Merideth (Nehemiah) Robinson, Dannie (Grace) Douglas, Annie (Henry) Jett, Linda Byrd, Cathrine Douglas, all of Darlington, and Patricia Douglas of Washington, D.C.; a brother, Arthur Douglas; 18 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law; a host of nieces and nephews.

RICH EASTERLING
Services for Leland Rich Easterling Sr., 75, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Jan. 31, 2001, at the Rivers of Living Water Church. The Rev. Tom Gainey will officiate with burial in Magnolia Cemetery directed by Brown-Pennington-Atkins Funeral Home.
Mr. Easterling, widower of Louise Mottershead Easterling, died Monday, Jan. 29. Born in Darlington County, he was a son of the late James William and Margaret Johnson Easterling. He was owner and operator of Rich's Auto Mart. He was a veteran of World War II and an avid supporter of the Hartsville Red Foxes.
Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Tommy and Gina Easterling, Mark Easterling, Rich and Gaye Easterling Jr., all of Hartsville; daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy Griggs, Bonnie and James Woods, Harold Griggs, all of Hartsville; brother, Lorraine Easterling of Hartsville; sister, Jewel Jacobs of Hartsville; grandchildren, Jeannie Porter, Barbie Wilks, Richie Griggs, Tommy Easterling Jr., Tony Easterling, Betsy Easterling, Daniel Easterling; great-grandchildren, Cody Porter, Cricket Porter, Ashley Kelly and Michael Kelly.

EDWINA F. MIOT
COLUMBIA – Services for Edwina Fitler Miot, 84, were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, 2001, at Richland Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Gadsden. Memorials may be made to Forest Lake Presbyterian Church, 6500 North Trenholm Rd., Columbia, SC 29206 or Palmetto Health Hospice, PO Box 7275, Columbia, S.C. 29202. Dunbar Funeral Home, Gervais Street Chapel, is in charge.
Mrs. Miot, wife of the late Joseph D. Miot Jr., died Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2001. Born in Bryn Mawr, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Edwin H. and Elisa Wirth Fitler, formerly of Rosemont, Pa. She attended Miss Porter's School in Farmington, Conn. and was a member of Forest Lake Presbyterian Church, Forest Lake Country Club, the Pine Tree Hunt Club, a former member of the Junior League of Columbia and the Columbia Garden Club.
Surviving are her son, Joseph D. Miot III, and his wife, Marianne C. Miot of Columbia; daughters, Glenn Miot Cannon and her husband, James W. Cannon of Hartsville, Andrea Miot Garrett and her husband, Frederick L. Garrett III of Essex County, Va.; eight grandchildren, Frederick L. Garrett IV, James W. Cannon Jr., Louise G. Andrews, Charles M. Cannon, Andrea C. Little, Mary Campbell Miot, Elisa Fitler Miot and Laura Cole Miot; and two great-grandchildren, Frederick L. Garrett V and William F. Andrews III.

KENNETH C. ADAMS
DARLINGTON – Grave-side services for Kenneth Conrad Adams, 55, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Feb. 2, 2001, in Grove Hill Cemetery directed by Kistler-Hardee Funeral Home.
Mr. Adams died at his residence after an illness. Born in Darlington County, he was the son of the late Hadley and Verona Beatrice Reid Adams. Mr. Adams was retired from Jack's Cookies.
Survivors include one son, Eric (Melody) Adams of Florence; four brothers, David H. (Earlene) Adams of Florence, Alvious J. "Al" (Penny) Adams of Hartsville, William H. "Billy" (Diane) Adams of Silver Springs, Md., and G. Ray (Ernestine) Adams of Darlington; one sister, Beatrice Adams (James) Cook of Florence; and one granddaughter, Alexis Nicole Adams of Florence.

VIRGINIA McDOUGALD
Services for Virginia Mixon McDougald, 63, will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, at the Bible Truth Holiness Church. The Revs. James Atkinson, Robert Winburn and Hazel Mixon will officiate. Burial will be in the Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery directed by Norton Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Bible Truth Holiness Church, P.O. Box 124, Lydia, S.C. 29079.
Mrs. McDougald was born in Darlington County, a daughter of the late Tommy and Ruth Beasley Mixon. She was a member of the Bible Truth Holiness Church where she served as secretary for 20 years and was retired from A.O. Smith.
Surviving are her husband, Minor McDougald of Hartsville; three daughters, Regina Parker, Diane Walters, both of Hartsville, and Blanche Ferguson of Patrick; five sons, Leslie (Cooney) McDougald and David McDougald of Bishopville, Matthew and Tyler Ferguson of Hartsville, and Carroll Walters of Hartsville; six sisters, Linda Barr, Paula Galloway, Annie Mae Johnson, Alice Kelly, the Rev. Hazel Mixon and Kaye Woods, all of Hartsville; four brothers, Allen Mixon, Billy (Bud) Mixon and Edward Mixon, all of Hartsville, and Donnie Mixon of Dovesville; and 11 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Patridge, and two brothers, Wilbur and Robert Mixon.

ROBERT D. BROWN
MYRTLE BEACH – Services for Robert Dewey Brown Jr., 76, will be held at 11:30 a.m. today, Jan. 31, 2001, at McMillan-Small Funeral Home Chapel in Myrtle Beach with the Rev. Dr. Wayne Brown officiating. Burial will be private in Florence National Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. today at McMillan-Small Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church seniors, 500 4th Ave. N., Myrtle Beach, S.C. 29577.
Mr. Brown died Monday, Jan. 29, 2001 at Grand Strand Regional Medical Center.
He was born May 18, 1924, in Hartsville, a son of Robert Dewey and Mattie Christine Warren Brown. He was the widower of Jean Brown. He was a retired manager of an Esso Service Station in Hartsville, a veteran of World War II and had moved to Myrtle Beach from Johnson City, Tenn., four years ago.
Survivors include a son, Frankie Brown of Florence; a sister, Mildred Bitterman of Myrtle Beach; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

EVELYN E. MILLER
Evelyn Ellison Miller, who grew up in Hartsville and graduated from Hartsville High School in 1954, died in Danville, Va., on Jan. 30, 2001. She was the daughter of the late W. Jones Ellison (the long-time manager of the J.C. Penney Co. store in Hartsville), and Novice Ellison of Danville, who survives. She leaves her husband, Kenneth M. Miller of Danville, and one brother, R. Curtis Ellison, who lives in Massachusetts.
A graduate of Furman University, with a master's degree from Duke University, Evelyn lived most of her adult life in Danville, where she taught for many years in the high school and then became Chair of the Education Department at Averett College. She was active in her church and choir and in many community organizations. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Townes Funeral Home in Danville. The funeral will be held at the Mount Vernon United Methodist Church on Friday, Feb. 2. Memorials may be sent to Mount Vernon United Methodist Church Foundation - Music; 107 West Main Street, Danville, Va., 24541.

CHARLES R. BANKS
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Charles Richard Banks, 58, died Thursday, Jan. 25, 2001, in Gainesville, Fla. after an illness. Arrangements were made by Williams Thomas Funeral Home.
Mr. Banks was born in Darlington County and lived in Hartsville until about six years ago where he was previously employed by Sonoco Products.
Living relatives include a daughter, Stacie Woodham of Hartsville; two brothers Junior Banks of Tennessee and Terry Banks; a sister, Diane McCarthy of Myrtle Beach; and two grandchildren. Mr. Banks was preceded in death by his parents, McLeod Banks and Annie Mae Ganie Banks.
