HILL, Dorothy
Dorothy Gertrude Poston Hill, 90, died Saturday, June 1, 2002 after an extended illness. Mrs. Hill was born in Charleston, S.C. on August 29, 1911. She was the widow of Dock Aimar Hill and the mother of Al L. Hill and Harold A. Hill, both deceased.
Mrs. Hill is survived by one granddaughter, Allison H. Cook (Marty) of Gray Court, S.C.; and one grandson, L. Glenn Hill (Kelly) of Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; a daughter-in-law, Dorothy Hunt Hill of North Charleston, S.C.; five great-grandchildren, Lauren, Drew, and Curry Cook of Gray Court, and Samuel and Oliver Hill of Mt. Pleasant; three nieces, Lula White (Blair) of Isle of Palms, S.C., Virginia Young (Bob) of Moncks Corner, S.C., and Geraldine Short (Merle) of Old Hickory, Tennessee; several grandnieces, great-grandnieces, grandnephews, great-grandnephews, and many wonderful friends and neighbors.
Family, friends and neighbors are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, June 4, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's Catholic Church, St. John's Avenue, North Charleston, S.C. Interment will be in Riverview Memorial Park, Azalea Drive, North Charleston.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. John's Catholic Church, 3921 St. John's Avenue, North Charleston, S.C., 29405.

GREENE, Edward
Entered into eternal rest on Friday, May 24, 2002, Mr. Edward (Skinny-PaPa) Greene, residence, Manhattan, New York, formerly of Charleston, S.C. The father of Stephanie Greene of New Jersey, Aliesha Greene of New York, the son of Julia Greene and the late Edward Greene, the brother of Richard Greene, (Elaytina), Bronx, NY, Vermell Greene Simmons, the nephew of Atkins Greene of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Richardine Wright and Mildred Wilder, nieces and nephews, grand nieces and nephews and cousins.
The relatives and friends will pay their last tribute to him today, June 4, 2002, New York.

MACK, Patricia
The relatives and friends of Mrs. Patricia Ann Gailliard-Mack, those of her children, Mrs. Yvette Ladson (Miles) and Ms. Kenya Mack, sisters and brothers, Elder Fred Gibbs, Mr. Frank Gailliard Jr., Rev. Gerald Gailliard (Florence), Mr. Jonathan Gailliard (Calanthia), Mrs. Gladys Pettigrew, Mrs. Mary Vanderhorst, Ms. Juanita Gailliard, and Mrs. Elsie Brown (Keathan) are invited to attend her funeral services, Wednesday, July 24, 2002, at First Baptist Church, James Island, S.C. CHAMBERS, Egbert
PIEDMONT - Egbert Lee Chambers, 79, of 211 Westridge, died Sunday, July 21, 2002. Born in Atlanta, Ga., he was the son of the late Levi Egbert and Vora Leming Chambers. He was retired from Honeywell as a project manager and served in the U.S. Army Air Corp, WWII. Mr. Chambers was a member of West Gantt First Baptist Church where he was a deacon and a Sunday school teacher for 38 years. He loved his family, his church, and visiting shut-ins.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Howard Chambers; a daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Claude Blanchard of Mt. Pleasant; two sons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Margaret Chambers of Easley and Garry and Karin Chambers of Simpsonville; six grandchildren, Lee Blanchard, Wright Blanchard, Elizabeth Daniel, Charles Chambers, Jordan Chambers, Patric Chambers; a sister, Doris Bennett of College Park, Ga., and a brother, Virgil Chambers of McDonough, Ga. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to West Gantt First Baptist Church Building Fund, 1452 White Horse Road, Greenville, S.C. 29605.
The visitation will be held Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m., at THOMAS MCAFE FUNERAL HOME, DOWNTOWN. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 12 o'clock noon at West Gantt First Baptist Church with Dr. Marion Hare, Rev. Todd Sutton, and Rev. James Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Greenville Memorial Gardens, Mausoleum.

LANDRY, Andree
The relatives and friends of Mrs. Andree Bordelon Landry of Mount Pleasant, S.C., are invited to attend her Funeral Mass in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Marrero, La., Thursday, July 25, 2002. Entombment will be held in West Lawn cemetery Mausoleum, Gretna, La., directed by Mothe Funeral Home, 2100 Westbank Exy., Harvey, La. 70058. Local arrangements by J. SHORTRIDGE, Margaret
The relatives and friends of Margaret Anderson Shortridge, of Mount Pleasant, S.C., widow of Kenneth Wayne Shortridge, are invited to attend her funeral service, Tuesday, July 23, 2002, at the graveside, Mount Pleasant Memorial Gardens at 10 o'clock. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.

MILLS, Jessica
TRYON, N.C. - Jessica Lauren Mills, 19, of Garden Hill Drive, Raleigh, N.C., and formerly of Tryon, N.C., died Saturday, July 20, 2002, as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident.
Born in Augusta, Ga., she was the daughter of Andrea Wade Oswald of Raleigh, N.C., and step-father, Byron Oswald and father Daniel Lee Mills of Trenton, S.C. She was a member of the Y-Spartaquatics, of Spartanburg, S.C., and competed with their national championship swim team. Jessica was a 2000 honor graduate of Polk County High School where she was a member of the Beta Club, a Junior Marshall, and Senior attendant on the homecoming court. She participated in cross country, soccer and was instrumental in founding the High School Swim Club. Ms. Mills was a rising sophomore at the College of Charleston where she was a member of the Cougar Swim Team and was to be inducted into the National Collegiate Honor Society in the fall of 2002. She attended the Congregational Church of Christ, Tryon, N.C.
Surviving beside her mother and father are, a sister, Ashley E. Mills and a niece, Alaina C. Mills both of the home, a brother, Kris Mills of Charleston, S.C.; step-brother, Alan Oswald of Charlotte, N.C., and step-sister, Katie Oswald of Augusta, Ga.; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Franklin Hyers of North Augusta, S.C.; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lee Mills, both of North Augusta, S.C., and maternal grandfather, Art C. Wade of Homestead, Fla.; paternal great-grandmother, Mary Evelyn Ward of Metter, Ga.; also surviving are several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 23, 2002, in the Congregational Church of Christ, Tryon, N.C., with Rev. Clairnel Nervik officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Polk County Swim Program, c/o the Finance Officer, Stearns Education Center, P.O. Box 638, Columbus, N.C. 28722.

DICKS, Dorothy
Mrs. Dorothy Stoney Dicks, 70, of 731 Union Church Lane entered into rest July 19, 2002, at Palmetto Richland Memorial Center, Columbia, S.C. Funeral service will be 12 noon at the Welcome Traveler Baptist Church with the Rev. Leander Jones officiating. Burial will be in Aiken Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include, two daughters, Margaretta Richardson, Aiken, and Cora (Dee) Smalls, Charleston; three sons, Timothy (Abbie) Dicks, Hopkins, and Roosevelt Hayes, Aiken, Terry Dicks, Jacksonville, Fla.; ten grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will assemble at her residence at 11:15 a.m. Friends may call at her residence or the funeral home after 1 p.m., Tuesday.

MCCUE, Louise
Louise Patricia "Ms. Pete" McCue of Snee Farm, Mt. Pleasant, S.C., formerly a registered nurse for over 30 years, died Saturday, July 20, 2002, in a local hospital.
"Ms. Pete" as she was known to most of her friends in Charleston, was born October 3, 1926, near Clearspring, Md. She was the daughter of the late Jennie Venette Repp Poole and John William Poole, and was preceded in death by her husband, John Earl McCue, three brothers, Robert, Alfred and Elmer Poole, and two sisters, Dorotha Faust and Vera Toston. She is survived by one brother, Woodrow Poole of Clearspring, Md., a son, George C. McCue and his wife, Patti, of Tupelo, Miss., a daughter, Karen M. Paulick and her husband Bill, of Juneau, Alaska, and one grandchild, Kristina Paulick.
"Ms. Pete" was best known for her volunteer work at the former Charleston Naval Hospital and most particularly at the Sandpiper Convalescent Center in Mt. Pleasant. In 1992, she received the S.C. State Health Care Association Volunteer of the Year Award, and was inducted into the WCSC (Channel 5) Hall of Fame for her volunteer work.
The funeral will be private. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 23, 2002, in J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL, from 4:30 until 7:00 o'clock.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to either: Roper Hospital ICU Education Fund, c/o David Bailey, ICU Manager, 316 Calhoun Street, Charleston, S.C. 29401, or Sandpiper Convalescent Center, "Ms. Pete's Resident Activities Fund, " 1049 Anna Knapp Blvd., Mt. Pleasant, S.C. 29464.
She will be missed by many, and remembered by all.

BROWN, Robert
Mr. Robert Mayes Brown, 74, of 346 Sheep Dog Lane near Lodge, died Sunday afternoon in the Colleton Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. Mr. Brown was born in Beaufort County, June 29, 1928, a son of the late Joseph Edward Brown and Aniah Elizabeth Fennell Brown. He was a self-employed Automobile Mechanic and was a member of the Great Swamp Baptist Church in Walterboro.
Surviving are, his wife, Janie Boyles Brown of Lodge; six sons, Robert M. Brown, Jr., Bobby Joe Brown, James Brown, Ricky Brown, Jimmy Lee Brown and David Brown; three daughters, Janie B. Wilson, Patricia Beaupre, and Darlene Walling; four sisters, Louise Davis, Sadie Steadman, Jessie Mae Cook, and Inez Stanley. There are 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, in the Chapel of PEEPLES-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME IN HAMPTON, conducted by Rev. Jack Padgett, with burial in the Johnson-St. Paul cemetery in Hampton.
Friends may call at the Chapel in Hampton from 6 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, and Wednesday until the hour of services.
