The relatives and friends of Mr. Joseph Payton and of his wife, Mrs. Vernell S. Payton, children, Mr. Mathew McKinney, Mr. Darryl McKinney (Arlene) and Mrs. Shantay Young (Raymond), grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins are invited to attend his funeral services on Saturday, May 11, 2002 at 1 p.m. in Mount Sinai Holiness Church of Deliverance, 1216 5th Ave., (Maryville subdivision), Charleston, S.C. Apostle C.A. Keith, pastor with inhumation following in Johnson cemetery, Stall Rd., North Charleston, S.C. Friends may call in the chapel at HARLESTON-BOAGS FUNERAL HOME, INC., on Thursday afternoon May 10, 2002 from 2 until 5 p.m. Mr. Payton will repose in Mount Sinai Church, 5th Avenue (Maryville) from 6 until 8 p.m. Visitation with family members from 7 until 8 p.m. Arrangements are announced by HARLESTON-BOAGS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 121 Calhoun St., (Downtown) Charleston, S.C. DORRELL, Jr., Ralph
KINGSTREE - Ralph M. Dorrell, Jr., 66, died Thursday at his residence.
Mr. Dorrell was born in Florence, S.C., a son of Ralph M. and Elizabeth Grimsley Dorrell. He graduated from Kingstree High School and was a farmer and a farm equipment mechanic. Mr. Dorrell was a Baptist.
Surviving are his wife, JoAnn Dorrell of Kingstree; two daughters, Deborah Catoe of Kingstree and Terri Bowen of Greer, S.C.; one son, Rusty Dorrell of Kingstree; two sisters, Imogene Hagwood of Orangeburg and Lizzie Dell McDonald of Kingstree; three brothers, James Ollie Dorrell of West Columbia, William Roland Dorrell of Albuquerque, N.M., and Archie Laverne Dorrell of Lexington and ten grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Saturday at Williamsburg Funeral Home with interment at Kingstree Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home Friday evening from 7 to 9. Memorials may be made to Tidelands Hospice, 2591 N. Frasier Street, Georgetown, S.C., 29440. WILLIAMSBURG FUNERAL HOME of Kingstree is in charge.

VENNING, Oliver
Entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, May 9, 2002, Mr. Oliver Venning, Sr. Residence, 1737 Labor Camp Road, Mt. Pleasant, S.C. He was the widower of Mrs. Virginia C. Venning.
The relatives and friends of Mr. Olive Venning, Sr., are invited to attend his funeral services on Saturday, May 11, 2002, at 11 a.m., at Olive Branch AME Church. Interment, Church cemetery. Rev. Dr. Daniel Simmons, Pastor.
Mr. Venning is survived by five sons, Mr. Edward Venning (Brenda) of Atlanta, Ga.; Mr. Oliver Venning, Jr. (Rosetta) of North Charleston, S.C.; Mr. Irvin Venning (Jacqueline) of Richmond, Va.; Mr. Benjamin Venning (Gladys) of Richmond, Va. and Mr. William Venning (Elizabeth) of Richmond, Va.; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Alice Vanderhorst (Robert "Bobby") and Mrs. Elizabeth Fleming (Thurmond) both of Mt. Pleasant, S.C., three step-sons, four step-daughters and a host of grandchildren and cousins. Viewing for Mr. Venning will be at the W.M. Smith Funeral Home, 4129 Hwy. 17 North, Awendaw, S.C., on Friday, May 10, 2002, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and at the church from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. where the family will be receiving friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Arrangements by W.M. KUNZ, Eileen Catherine
Eileen Catherine Kunz, 74, of Summerville, widow of Peter Joseph Kunz died Thursday morning in a North Charleston hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 11, 2002, at 11 o'clock in St. John the Beloved Catholic Church. Rite of Committal will Final Commendation will be in Summerville cemetery.
Friends may call James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville, from 5 until 8 o'clock this evening.

Born on February 8, 1928, in Brooklyn, N.Y., a daughter of the late Clifford and Clara Rutherford. She attended schools in Brooklyn, N.Y. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John the Beloved Catholic Church.
Surviving are, one daughter, Kathryn Reilly of Summerville; one son, Peter Kunz of Edison, N.J.; six grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.

JONAS, James
James H. Jonas, 84, of Barnwell, S.C., died Thursday, May 9, 2002, at a local nursing home. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements by J. HENRY STUHR, INC., MOUNT PLEASANT CHAPEL.
Mr. Jonas was born May 10, 1917, in Dayton, Ohio, the son of Edwin Rudolph and Matilda Blaser Jonas. He served in the U.S. Navy in W.W.II. He was a Plant Supervisor with Shuron Company.
Surviving are two daughters, Beth Michi of Mount Pleasant, S.C., Jackie Jonas of Elko, Nev., two sisters, Doris Cerosky and Geneva Ventura both of Santa Anna, Calif., and a Dear Friend, Bunny Shepherd of Barnwell, S.C. He had five grandchildren.
