LYONS, Pearl
RUFFIN - Mrs. Pearl Given Lyons, 85, of 723 Schoolhouse Road, entered into eternal rest Monday at Oakwood Health Care Center. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, at Pine Grove Baptist Church #1 with Rev. Ralph Warren officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery, directed by the BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME.
Mrs. Lyons was born in Colleton County, the oldest daughter of the late Lee and Florence Crosby Givens. She was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church, where she served in several leadership roles over the years. She was retired from Walterboro Dress Plant, where she worked for 28 years. She was the widow of Leroy Lyons.
Surviving are, a daughter, Vicki Irby of Norcross, Ga., granddaughters, Dena Crosby of Richmond, Va., and Tracey Crosby of Atlanta, Ga., a sister, Ruth Hudson Busch of Summerville, a brother, Marshall Givens of Ruffin, step-children, Mozelle Epp of Lincoln, Neb., J.A. Trippe, Jr., of Greenville, Mary Stokes of Salley, and Lillian Harnsberger of Fort Mill.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Wednesday, at the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to Pine Grove Baptist Church #1, 99 Pine Grove Road, Walterboro, S.C. 29488.

HARRISON, Opal
WALTERBORO - Mrs. Opal McGee Harrison, 74, of 533 Center St., entered into eternal rest Monday in Washington, D.C. Her son Heyward Baker was by her side when she died. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, at the Chapel of the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial cemetery.
Mrs. Harrison was born in Lake City, S.C., a daughter of the late Samuel Heyward McGee and Reatha Floyd McGee. She was a former insurance office manager, and retired from the Federal Land Bank Association in Walterboro. She was a member of Northside Christian Church and was a member of Senior Friends. She was first married to the late Emiel C. Baker and then to the late Paul O. Harrison.
Surviving are, two sons, F. Heyward Baker of Cheverly, Md., and Emiel C. Baker, Jr., of Kingstree, S.C., step-children, Verlillian Riddle of Spartanburg, Inez Soland of Columbia, and Ben Harrison of Walterboro, a sister, Mickie Hanniford of Lake City, S.C., two grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, and five step-great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m., Saturday, at the BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME.

HERNDON, Sr., James
James Seborn Herndon, Sr., 64, died Monday, April 1, 2002, at his home in Goose Creek. Born February 9, 1938, in Poplarville, Miss., he was the son of Flemong and Burna Mae Herndon (nee Davis). Mr. Herndon retired as a Tech Sergeant after 22 years of service in the U.S. Air Force that included two tours in Vietnam and one in Thailand. He was a former member of the American Legion Post 166. Later he was employed by the City of Hanahan. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cora; four children and their spouses, Ricky P. Herndon (Eva Marie Herndon), Moncks Corner; Barbara Everett (John Christopher Everett), Macedonia; Lolita Cordovez (Brian Magargal) Goose Creek; James S. Herndon, Jr. (Angelia Medina Herndon), Harleyville; five brothers and sisters, Norma Jean Clinton, Hattiesburg, Miss.; Margie Bullen, Pat Herndon, and Josephine Bullen, all of Poplarville, Miss.; and E.J. Herndon, Bay St. Louis, Mo.; eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Huey Garvin Henderson. A Mass of Christian Liturgy will be held 11 a.m., Friday, April 5, 2002, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Entombment with military honors will follow at Plantation Memorial Gardens. A vigil service will be held, Thursday, April 4, 2002, at 7 p.m. with visitation to follow until 9 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Memorials may be made to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 510 St. James Ave., Goose Creek, S.C. 29445. Arrangements by MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 100 S. Goose Creek Blvd., Goose Creek, S.C.

BROOKS, Terry
Mr. Terry Michael Brooks, age 62, of Charleston, S.C., died March 31, 2002. Mr. Brooks was a graduate of the Citadel and the University of South Carolina Law School. While serving in the 101st Airborne Division of the U.S. Army, he was a member of the Judge Advocate General's Corps. He continued his legal career with the U.S. Department of Labor and later as an attorney in private practice in Nashville, Tenn., specializing in Labor and Employment Law.
Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his parents, Lovic Alton Brooks, Sr., and Margaret Haley Brooks.
Survivors include his son, Dr. Terry Michael Brooks, Jr., and daughter-in-law, Leslie Denton Brooks of Birmingham; sister, Shirley Brooks Hildebrand (Jack) of Alexandria, Va.; brothers, Lovic Alton Brooks, Jr. (Carrie Alice) of Atlanta, Ga., Dan Winston Brooks (Joyce) of Westminster, S.C., and numerous nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2002, at Ridout's Valley Chapel (205-879-3401) in Homewood, Ala.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to Mr. Brook's favorite charities, the Alzheimer's Association or the Martha O'Bryan Center, 711 South 7th St., Nashville, Tenn. 37206. RIDOUT'S VALLEY CHAPEL, directing.

MILLIGAN, SR., Ezekiel
Entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 1, 2002, Mr. Ezekiel Milligan, Sr. of Pineville, S.C., husband of Mrs. Emmajean Milligan of Pineville, S.C., father of Ezekiel Milligan, Jr. of Atlantic City, N.J. and Robin Gwaltney of Moncks Corner, S.C.; brother of Juanita White, Emmaline White, Elizabeth Jenkins, Annie R. MIZZELL, Alida
SUMMERVILLE, S.C. - Alida Rollins Arrants Mizzell, 82, died Monday, April 1, 2002, at a Charleston hospital.
Born in Lee County, she was a daughter of the late George O. Rollins and the late Aline Woodham Rollins.
Surviving are a daughter, Marie de Tournillon; and a sister, Beaney Lee Polin both of Charleston.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, at Tillers cemetery in the Turkey Creek Community with Rev. Dale Warren officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Society.

WEST, Wilfred
The relatives and friends of Mr. Wilfred Lee West, and those of his son, Mr. Jamie Gardner, those of his mother Mrs. Carrie Lee West; those of his brothers and sister, Mr. Nick West, Mr. Donaver West (Veronica), Ms. Linda Carter, cousins are invited to attend his Home Going services on Thursday, April 4, 2002, 11:30 a.m. at Campbell Hill UM Church, Summerville. Ancrum, III, Kyren Ancrum both of Mount Pleasant, S.C., sister of Leroy Ferguson, Julius Ladson (Carrie), Ricky Ladson, Theola Ladson, Marie Ladson, Voila Hardaway all of Charleston, S.C. and Jenetta Nelson (Richard) of Jersey City, N.J. TRULUCK, Carrol
Carrol Douglas Truluck, 73, died Monday evening in a Charleston hospital after an illness. Graveside funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Bethel Baptist Church cemetery in Olanta directed by BELK FUNERAL HOME of Darlington.
Mr. Truluck was born in Florence County the son of the late Carl Darby and Mary Lee Segars Truluck. He was employed in construction for most of his life.
Surviving are four sons, Robert Truluck of Charleston, S.C., Carl Joseph Truluck of Charleston, W.Va., Raymond Douglas Turluck of Charleston, W.Va., and Danny Ray Truluck of Brandenburg, Ky.; three daughters, Judy Truluck Shokes of Charleston, S.C., Gail McClaskey Eminence, Ky. and Robin Ogren of Brandenburg, Ky.; 15 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mary Truluck Byrd and Ellen Truluck Thomas both of Darlington.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times at 321 Spring Street, Darlington.

GOODWIN, Robert
Entered into eternal rest on the morning of April 2, 2002, Robert "Bob" Conley Goodwin, widower of Darlene "Dolly" Weinke Goodwin. Residence, James Island, S.C. Friends may call at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, Thursday evening between 6 and 8 o'clock. The time of the funeral service will be announced later.

KNIGHT, C. Tillman
Entered into eternal rest on the morning of April 2, 2002, C. Tillman Knight, husband of Gladys Brown Knight. Residence, Charleston, S.C. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. C. Mr. Knight was born in Charleston, South Carolina, the son of Clarence Allen Knight and Emmie Knight Knight. He was a retired furniture salesman. He was a member of St. Andrew's Parish Unite Methodist Church, where he was a member of United Methodist Men's Club and a church usher for many years. He served in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II and Korean.
Surviving are his wife of Charleston, S.C.; one daughter, Lynn Knight O'Quinn of Ladson, S.C.; one brother, Rev. Norman L. Knight of Charleston, S.C.; one sister, Evelyn J. McMillen of Charleston, S.C.; two grandchildren, Eric K. Knight and Rebecca N. O'Quinn.
Memorials may be made to St. Andrew's Parish United Methodist Church, 3225 Ashley River Road, Charleston, S.C. 29414.
