Doris E. Jardula

SAVANNAH -- Doris Evelyn Jardula, 80, of Sun City Hilton Head died Monday, April 22, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah.

She was born Feb. 6, 1922, in Brooklyn, N.Y.

She was married for 53 years to the late Adam C. Jardula.

She moved to Sun City from Port Jefferson N.Y., in 1995. She was an insurance administrator for 15 years before her retirement.

Surviving are a son, Michael Jardula of Bluffton; a daughter and son-in-law, Amy and Alan Hare of Hilton Head Island; a grandson, Andrew Hare; and an adopted son, Harvey Stem.

Visitation will be held at St. Andrew's Chapel on Pinckney Colony Road in greater Bluffton from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, where a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Friday, with the Rev. Gregory West officiating. A graveside service will follow at Beaufort National Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the St. Gregory the Great Building Fund, 333 Fording Island Road, Bluffton SC 29910.

The Island Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Sal Altoriso

Sal Altoriso, 48, of Hilton Head Island, died Sunday, April 21, at his home.

Mr. Altoriso was born May 1, 1953, in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of Norma Vinas Pilnacek and the late Gaetano Altoriso.

He moved to Hilton Head in 2000 from Arizona.

He attended The Sorbonne in Paris.

In addition to his mother, surviving are two sisters and brothers-in-law, Cynthia and Charles Broderson of New York and Tara and Sergey Panin of Moscow; a brother and sister-in-law, Antony and Rachael of Beaufort, and a nephew, Reily Broderson.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis By the Sea Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael McCafferty officiating. Interment will be in the St. Francis Columbarium.

Memorials may be made to St. Francis By the Sea Catholic Church, 45 Beach City Road, Hilton Head Island, SC 29926.

The Island Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.

Homer Cornelius Hagman

Beaufort, South Carolina Homer Cornelius Hagman, 83, of Beaufort, died Sunday, April 14, 2002, at Beaufort Memorial Hospital.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 8 PM at Copeland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11:00 AM at Copeland Funeral Home. Interment, with military honors, will be at the Beaufort National Cemetery.

Mr. Hagman was born September 16, 1918, in Gideon, Missouri, a son of Anna Sweeney Hagman and Augustus Hagman.

He was a retired US Navy Chief Warrant Officer. He later was the Savannah area pharmaceutical representative for Pen Walt Pharmaceuticals. He was a former member of the Savannah Kiwanis Club, the Knights of Columbus, the Savannah Elks Club, the Submariners Association and The Retired Officers' Association.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Adeline Dias Hagman and his second wife, Gladys Rumple Hagman.

Surviving are: four daughters, Barbara Pelli of Beaufort, Mary Hagman-Salter of Atlanta, Bobbi Coulter of Beaufort and Jennifer Preik of Amelia Island, Florida; one son, Edward J. Hagman of Savannah, Georgia; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

The family suggests that memorials be made to Friends of Caroline Hospice, 1110 13th Street, Port Royal, South Carolina 29935.

Alberta Davis Fleming

ADAMS RUN -- Alberta "Tiny" Davis Fleming, 93, of Adams Run, formerly of Beaufort, widow of Duncan Leroy Fleming, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, in St. Francis Hospital, Charleston.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday with burial in Ridgeland City Cemetery.

Mrs. Fleming was born Sept. 17, 1908, in Smoaks, a daughter of Mattie Roberts Davis and Leroy Davis. She retired as an administrative clerk with Seaboard Coast Line Railroad Co., and was a member of Carteret Street United Methodist Church.

Anderson Funeral Home is in charge.

Myrtle Marea King Jones

Myrtle Marea King Jones, 79, of Port Royal, died Tuesday, July 30, 2002, in the Medical University of South Carolina.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Anderson Funeral Home.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Port Royal Baptist Church, with burial in Beaufort National Cemetery.

Mrs. Jones was born Nov. 6, 1922, in Fernandina Beach, Fla., a daughter of Mettie Davis King and Charles Andrew King. She was a clerk for Premier Cleaners for several years, and was a member of the Daughters of America and Port Royal Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emory H. Jones Sr.

Survivors include a son, Emory H. Jones Jr. of Aiken; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 443, Beaufort, SC 29901.

Norbert E. Andres Jr.

Norbert E. Andres Jr., 77, of Port Royal Plantation died Tuesday, July 30, at Hilton Head Medical Center and Clinics.

Mr. Andres was born in Buffalo, N.Y., the eldest son of Irma and Norbert E. Andres.

He served in the Navy in World War II and the Korean conflict. He was a graduate of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and received a master's degree in business administration from the University of Michigan.

He was a former member of the Wellesley Country Club in Wellesley, Mass., and The Yahnundasis Golf Club in New Hartford, N.Y. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, SCORE and the Port Royal Plantation Club. He loved skiing, tennis, golf and biking.

Mr. Andres is survived by his wife of 50 years, Pauline; daughters Julia Cort, Jacqui Gopstein, Beth McPartlan, Yvonne Chief and Polly McCooey; son Norbert E. Andres III; brother Kevin; sisters Carole Weber, Pat Propster and Gail Beck; and 10 grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis By the Sea Catholic Church, with the Rev. Michael McCafferty officiating. Inurnment will follow in the St. Francis Church Columbarium.

Memorial contributions can be made to the charity of one's choice.

The Island Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
