MILLER, Corrie
RICHBURG, S.C. - Mrs. Corrie Lee Zeigler Miller, age 92, of 120 S. Main St., Richburg, S.C., died Thursday at a health facility in Rock Hill, S.C.Born July 20, 1909, in Bamberg, S.C., she was a daughter of the late James Zeigler and the late Martha Murray Zeigler. She was the widow of Cecil P. Miller.Mrs. Miller was the oldest member of the Lando Baptist Church and was a former member of the Dorchester Waylyn Baptist Church where she served as Sunday School Teacher and within the Homebound Ministry; she was a past member of Senior Services in Edgemoor and was a member of the Ladies Bible Class and Women in Mission of the Lando Baptist Church.Surviving are, daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. James (Jeanine) Turner of Richburg, S.C.; son and daughter-in-law, Hershel and Geraldine Miller of Goose Creek, S.C., and Johnny I. Miller of Riverside, Calif.; sisters, Mrs. Sabra Kittrell of Columbia, S.C., and Mrs. Fannie Gandy, Elgin, S.C.; 15 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m., Monday, from the Lando Baptist Church with Dr. Richard Harrison officiating. Rev. St. John Edward Patat, 89, of Charleston, a Roman Catholic Priest of the Diocese of Charleston, died Saturday, November 10, 2001. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, 2001 in the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. The Rite of Committal will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery. The Vigil Service will be held, 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, also in the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. The family will receive visitors following the Vigil Service until 9:00 p.m. Arrangements by JAMES A. RITTER, Annie
WALTERBORO - Mrs. Annie Ramsey Ritter, 83, of 2168 Possum Corner Road, died Friday at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday at Ebenezer United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack Bailey and Rev. David Cox officiating. Interment will be in the church Cemetery, directed by the BRICE W. HERNDON AND SONS FUNERAL HOME.Mrs. Ritter was born in Colleton County, a daughter of the late Earl Ramsey and Junita Jones Ramsey. She was a retired seamstress with Walterboro Dress Plant and was a member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church where she was active in the W.H.F.M. She was the widow of J. Howard Ritter.Surviving are two sons, Alton Ritter and Johnny Ritter, both of Walterboro, two daughters, Kathryn Fennell and Brenda McCants, both of Walterboro, three brothers, Vernon Ramsey, Robert Ramsey, and Raymond Ramsey all of Walterboro, a sister, Alma Kiser of Walterboro, seven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.Memorials may be made to Ebenezer United Methodist Church Building Fund, c/o 109 S. WALTERBORO - Mrs. Mary Ruth Frazier Jennings Davis, 67, of 1543 Keegan Drive, died Friday at a Colleton medical center. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday at the chapel of the Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Randy McDaniel officiating. Interment will follow in Bedon Baptist Church Cemetery.Mrs. Davis was born in Colleton County, a daughter of the late Ashley Frazier and Lori Bazzle Frazier. She was a member of the Holiness Tabernacle in Walterboro and was first married to the late Virgil Jennings.Surviving are her husband, Robert Davis, a son, Jim Jennings of Hampton, daughters, Ruth Smyly and Linda Kay Fletcher, both of Walterboro, a brother, Ashley Frazier, Jr. of Walterboro, sisters, Helen Jennings, Lorene Keegan, Gloria Fletcher, Lucile James and grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Sunday at the BRICE W. LEE, Mary
NEW ZION - Mary Matthews Lee, 85, widow of Andrew Jack Lee, died Friday, November 9, 2001, in Lake Marion Nursing facility after an illness.Mrs. Lee was born in Florence County, a daughter of the late Joe and Minnie Keith Matthews. She was a homemaker and a member of Lee's Tabernacle Pentecostal Holiness Church.Surviving are two sons, Jack M. (Adell) Lee of Goose Creek and Robert E. (Brenda) Lee of Lake City; one daughter, Mary Nell (Ben) Floyd of New Zion; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Faye Beard Lee of Lake City.Mrs. Lee was predeceased by a son, James Rondel Lee.Funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, November 11, 2001 in the Brockington Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Lake City Memorial Park.Memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.BROCKINGTON FUNERAL HOME, Lake City, is in charge.

MATHIAS, Robert
KNIGHTDALE, NC - Robert James "Bob" Mathias, 47, of 1208 Laurens Way, died suddenly Friday, November 9, 2001 at Wake Medical Center. Bob was a sales representative with United Paper Company. Robert J. Mathias was a very special human being who lived life to its fullest, and who was beloved by the thousands of people whose lives he touched. Whether it was coaching kids basketball teams, organizing golf tournaments for the community, or spending times with his friends and family, everyone knew they were lucky to have met this warm, gracious, giant of a man. Everyone who was fortunate enough to have encountered Bob will miss his sense of humor and gregarious nature. Bob had a God given gift for bringing people together, a gift that is not likely to be seen again in our lifetime. Bob was one of kind, a gentle giant. As a young man, he was a High School All American basketball player at Clarkstown North High School, Rockland County Hall of Fame, and later into the Clarkstown North Hall of Fame. He had an outstanding athletic career at the University of South Carolina, and in 1991 Bob and his family moved to Knightdale, NC. He quickly established himself as a community leader. He was awarded the Presidents Award for community service by the Planters Walk Homeowners Association. Bob loved volunteering his time coaching both Varsity and JV boys' basketball teams at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Raleigh. He was a dedicated father and husband; his greatest love was his wife and two girls. For his friends and family the world will never be the same without Big Bob.Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 12, 2001 at Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, 219 West Edenton Street, Raleigh, with Father Girard Sherba officiating. Burial in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Highway 97, Zebulon.Surviving are his wife, Ruth Whittington Mathias; children, Catherine Katie and Lindsey Mathias of the home; father, Richard Mathias of Blowing Rock, NC; mother, Joyce Barton Mathias of Nanuet, NY; two sisters, Judy M. Helen Theresa Giambertone, 86, of Mt. Pleasant, SC died Friday, November 9, 2001 in a local nursing home. Friends may call at J. The Rosary will be recited at 2:30 p.m. Prayers of Final Commendation and Farewell will be in Meadow Lawn Cemetery, New Port Richey, Florida.Mrs. Giambertone was born June 13, 1915 in New York City, NY, a daughter of Rocco and Rose C. Giambertone. She was a seamstress.Surviving are several cousins, Mr. and Mrs. James McLellan of Mt. Pleasant, SC. Mr. and Mrs. Mariol Ciappa of Mt. Pleasant, SC, her niece, Carolyn Amorluz of San Diego, CA and her nephew, Louis Giambertone of Scottsdale, Arizona.

Martin, one son, Michael Goblet, all of Charleston, SC, two sisters, Claudia Brown of Macedonia, SC and Tina Towles of Macon, GA, one brother, Malcolm Wyndham of Johnston, SC, six grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by a son Charles M. Goblet, Jr.

MYRTLE BEACH - Robert Clyde "Bobby" Bacot, 50, of 63rd Ave. North, died Friday November 9, 2001 at his residence.Mr. Bacot was born October 10, 1951 in Charlotte, NC, a son of Lewis and Juddie Hunter Bacot.Bobby moved to Myrtle Beach from Memphis, Tenn. in 1984, graduated from Garinger High School in 1969 where he was All County in football. He graduated from the University of Tennessee and was a four year walk on starter as a member of the Volunteer Football team. In 1975 he placed second in the National Karate Championships. He also ran a web site called SCPrepfootball.com Most importantly a loving husband and devoted father to his four sons.Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Kay S. Bacot of Myrtle Beach, his parents of North Myrtle Beach, four sons, Robert "Bo" Clyde Bacot, Jr., Benjamin Hunter Bacot, Andrew Micah Bacot and Toby Bryan Bacot all of Myrtle Beach, a sister, Denise Bacot Saunders of King, NC, two brothers, Jack Lewis Bacot of Charleston and A. Carole Griffin Lafon, 56, of Hanahan, a dispatcher for area law enforcement agencies, died Thursday in a North Charleston hospital. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday in Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Carolina Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Lafon was born in Charleston. She was a member of We Care Ministries. Survivors include a son, Brian Lafon of Lakeland, Florida and ten grandchildren. FISHER, JR., Lawrence
PAWLEY'S ISLAND - Lawrence John "Jack" Fisher, Jr., 80, died Friday, November 9, 2001, at a Georgetown hospital.Mr. Fisher was born in Courtland, Va. on July 17, 1921, a son of the late Lawrence John Fisher and Helen Owens Fisher of Franklin, Va. He was an Eagle Scout at the age of fourteen. Mr. Fisher graduated in the class of 1942 from Washington and Lee University. While at Washington and Lee, he was a member and president of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity and captain of the baseball team.Mr. Fisher served in the Army Air Corps during World War II as an officer and a bomber pilot. Following his Air Corps service, he began his dynamic career in the textile industry working for Milliken and Company. Mr. Fisher retired from Wellman Industries in 1991. He was the widower of Louise Armstrong Fisher of Greenville.Surviving are four sons, Lawrence John Fisher, III of Charlotte, N.C., Frank Armstrong Fisher of Pawley's Island, James Hagood Fisher of Greensboro, N.C. and George Lenoir Fisher of Richmond, Va.; and eight grandchildren.Funeral services will be Monday afternoon, November 12, 2001 at one o'clock at the graveside in All Saints Church, Waccamaw, Churchyard. Burial will follow under the direction of the Georgetown Chapel of MAYER FUNERAL HOME.The family suggests memorials to Washington and Lee University or the charity of one's choice.

SPENCER, Michael
Michael David Spencer, 43, died Thursday, November 8, 2001, at his residence. Mr. Spencer was born December 8, 1957 in Charleston, S.C. He was the son of Marian Johnston Spencer and Alfred E. Spencer both of Charleston, S.C. Mr. Spencer was formerly a security guard for Kiawah Island and Seabrook Island. He was a Catholic and member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. He was a graduate of Middleton High School and attended Trident Community College and the University of South Carolina. Mr. Spencer is survived by his parents and one brother, Col. Richard Spencer, USMC of San Diego, California. Graveside services will be held today, Saturday, November 10, 2001 at Live Oak Memorial Gardens, 3093 Ashley River Road at 2:00 p.m., Chaplain Taylor officiant. Flowers will be accepted and memorials to charity of one's choice. MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 150 Wentworth Street, Charleston, S.C. is assisting the Spencer family.
