WEATHERLY, Sara
Services for Sara Betty Weatherly will be held, 2 p.m., Saturday, December 22, 2001, in COOPER FUNERAL HOME CHAPEL, with burial in Alford Cemetery. Visitation will be held, 7 to 9 p.m., Friday, in the funeral home.
Mrs. Weatherly, 88, died Thursday, December 20, 2001, at her residence.
Born in Dillon County, June 6, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Victor Berry Sr. and Edna Hayes Berry. She was a member of Reedy Creek Presbyterian Church where she was Treasurer of the Women of the Church for 45 years, member of the Dillon Garden Club and was a Homemaker and a retired Farmer. She was the widow of the late Thad Weatherly.
Survivors include her daughter, Frances Weatherly Hayes of Dillon; grandchildren, Chris (Kristi) Hayes of Mulins, Jason Hayes of Mt. Pleasant, Darryl (Kathy) Fore of Florence, Dixie Weatherly of Minturn, and Deann Weatherly of Florence; daughter-in-law, Lutie Weatherly of Minturn; great-grandchildren, Alexis Hayes and Dylan Hayes, both of Mullins and Nolan Fore of Florence.
Mrs. Weatherly was preceded in death by her son, Legrand Weatherly; brothers, Henry, Carlysle, Walter and Victor, Jr.
The family would like to give special thanks to Jackie Harley, Beatrice Rogers and Bessie Reaves for the kind and compassionate care given to "Miss Sara."
Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Pee Dee, 555 E. Chaves St., Florence, S.C. 29501.

The relatives and friends of Mrs. Harriett Barnwell Pinckney and those of her husband, Frank Pinckney; their daughter, Crystal Pinckney; her mother, Mrs. Lavina Nelson; her sisters, Mary McAlister, Lavita Foy, Kathleen Manigault; her brothers, William (Ivie) Barnwell, James (Janie) Nelson, Jack (Jeanette) Nelson, Alex Nelson, Benjamin Nelson, Leroy Coakley, and adopted brother, Leroy Seabrook; brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews, are invited to attend her funeral services, Saturday, December 22, 2001, 1 p.m., in Greater Goodwill A.M.E. Church 4174 Highway 17 North, Mount Pleasant, S.C. Interment, church cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home this afternoon from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. There will be no family hour. EADIE, Keith
Keith Eugene Eadie, of 1468 Russelville Road, husband of Azlee Taylor Eadie, died Monday, December 17, 2001, at his residence.
Funeral services will be Saturday, December 22, 2001, at TEW COMMUNITY FUNERAL HOME, 445 North Hwy. 52. Burial in Zion UM Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited at Zion UM Church, Russelville Road.
Mr. Eadie was born October 21, 1952, in Russelville, S.C., a son of Austroila Eadie Mortor. He attended St. Stephen High School. He was a member of Zion UM Church.
Survivors include, wife, Azalee Taylor Eadie, brother of Julia, Thelia, Filicia, Juanita, Odell, David and Garret.
Family is receiving friends at the home of his aunt, Helen Eadie, St. Stephen, S.C. Viewing will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday evening at Tew Funeral Chapel.

HEYWARD, Leon
Entered into eternal rest on the evening of Wednesday, December 19, 2001, Mr. Leon Delmon Heyward (Dale) of 211-B Congress St., Charleston, S.C. He is the beloved son of Mrs. Margie H. Heyward; father of DeShawn Heyward and Christian Heyward; brother of Tara Heyward and Arthur Heyward. Funeral arrangements will be announced by DOROTHY'S HOME FOR FUNERALS.

SANDERS, Katherine
Entered into eternal rest, Thursday, December 20, 2001, at her residence, 4839 Sam King Road, Hollywood, S.C., Mrs. Katherine C. Sanders. She is the beloved mother of Barbara Smalls (Jackie), Ethel Grant (Leroy), James Sanders, Jr. (Vergie), Susan James (Daniel), Flora Sanders, David Sanders and Michael Sanders; sister of Mrs. Julie Williams (Rev. David), Mr. William Pinckney (Gertie), Mrs. Albertha Harrison, Mrs. Rita Harrison, Mr. Edie Harrison and Mr. Paul Harrison; sister-in-law of Mrs. Gladys Green, Mrs. Cecelia Pinckney and Mrs. Bessie Pinckney. Funeral arrangements will be announced by DOROTHY'S HOLLYWOOD CHAPEL.

CANADAY, Harry
ANDREWS - Harry Franklin Canaday, 66, died Wednesday, December 19, 2001, in a Georgetown hospital.
Mr. Canaday was born at Adams Run in Charleston County on July 20, 1935, a son of the late John D. Canaday and Laura Catherine Cales Canaday. He retired in 1993 as a member of the International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Asbestos Workers Local No. 92 in Columbia. Mr. Canaday was also a past president and business agent for the union's former Local No. 77 in Charleston. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Andrews.
Surviving are, his wife, Louise Etheridge Canaday of Andrews; a son, Bruce F. Canady of Andrews; a daughter, Harriet C. Mercer, R.D.II. of Andrews; two sisters, Annie C. Hallex of Ravenel and Sandra C. Loper of Fernandina Beach, Fla.; and five grandchildren.
Mr. Canaday was predeceased by a brother, John William Canaday of Adams Run.
Funeral services will be Saturday morning, December 22, 2001, at 11 o'clock at First Baptist Church of Andrews. Burial will follow in Andrews Memorial Cemetery under the direction of the Andrews Chapel of MAYER FUNERAL HOME.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9, Friday evening, December 21, 2001.

CRAIG, Junior
GREENSBORO, N.C. - Junior V. Craig, 84, of Greensboro, died December 19, 2001, at a South Port, N.C., hospital. He was born March 14, 1917, in Greensboro, the son of the late Vestus J. and Mary Herrin Craig. Mr. Craig was the owner of Modern Garbage Services, Inc., for over 36 years and was also a World War II Army Veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Madeline Royal Craig.
A graveside service will be 11 a.m., Friday, December 21, 2001, at Guilford Memorial Park.
Survivors include his daughter, Linda C. Oldham and husband, Billy of Oak Island, N.C.; son, Dr. Jerry W. Craig and wife, Nanci of Charleston, S.C.; sister, Helen Gupton of Greensboro; brother, Harold Craig of Garden Grove, Calif.; two grandchildren, Alyson H. Craig and Justin T. Craig; two step-grandsons, David and Doug Oldham.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday, December 20, at Hanes-Lineberry, Vanstory St.

PARKER, George
HAMPTON - George Robert "Bob" Parker, Sr., 81, died on Tuesday, December 18, 2001, as the result of an automobile accident that occurred in Palm Coast, Fla.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Harmony Presbyterian Church in Crockettville, S.C.; directed by the FRED PARKER FUNERAL HOME of Walterboro, S.C. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Parker was born November 20, 1920 in Crocketville, a son of the late Brian and Eunice Parker. He and his wife, Dorothy Rhodes Parker owned Parker Brothers Dept. Store in Hampton for 30 years before retiring to Palm Coast, Fla.
Surviving are two sons, George Robert "Bobby" Parker, Jr. of St. Augustine, Fla., Benjamin "Benny" Rhodes Parker of Bluffton, S.C.; a brother, David Kennedy Parker of Crestview, Fla. and many grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton.

PARKER, Dorothy
HAMPTON - Dorothy Rhodes Parker, 76, died on Tuesday, December 18, 2001, as the result of an automobile accident that occurred in Palm Coast, Fla.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Harmony Presbyterian Church in Crocketville, S.C., directed by the FRED PARKER FUNERAL HOME of Walterboro. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Parker was born Feb. 16, 1924 in Walterboro, a daughter of the late Ben and Leila Rhodes.
Surviving are two sons, George Robert "Bobby" Parker, Jr. of St. Augustine, Fla., Benjamin "Benny" Rhodes Parker of Bluffton, S.C.; two brothers, Thomas Lee Rhodes, Sr. of Edisto Beach and Johnny Rhodes of Walterboro; a sister, Carolyn Ramsey of Walterboro and many grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton.

STRICKLAND, Zell
Mr. Zell Thomas Strickland, 78, of Charleston, died Wednesday at a local hospital.
Born March 30, 1923 in Climax, Georgia, he was a son of the late George T. and Goldie Boyette Strickland. He was a WWII U.S. Navy veteran. Mr. Strickland was the owner of Zell's Decorating Services.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Carolina Memorial Gardens, directed by Carolina Memorial Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Survivors include three sisters, Margie Jean Kelly of Hartsville, S.C., Georgia Ann Miller of York, S.C., Catherine Kay Muething of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; a brother, Patrick Strickland of New Orleans, Louisiana; and a niece, Crystal Byrd of Huntsville, Tennessee.

Entered into eternal rest on Thursday December 20, 2001, Mr. Eugene Gethers Jones, Jr. Residence 40-B Grove Street, Charleston, S.C. formerly of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. The father of Mr. Joseph Eugene Davis, Ms. Melody Cummings, and Ms. Tamieka Flowers. The devoted son of Mrs. Victoria J. Gethers and the late Mr. Eugene Gethers, Sr. The brother of Mr. Andrew Gethers (Bertha), Mrs. Marie White, Mrs. Dorothy Nelson, Ms. Jennifer Gethers, Mr. James Gethers, Mr. John Gethers, (Deborah) and Mr. Harold Gethers.

RHODES, Lucius
Entered into eternal rest on the evening of December 19, 2001, Lucius Fishburne Rhodes, residence, Folly Beach, S.C. Mr. Rhodes was born December 5, 1957 in Charleston, South Carolina, the son of the late Thomas Wright Rhodes, Jr. and Mary Gelzer Rhodes. He was a retired wood Craftsman. He was a member of Folly Beach United Methodist Church where he sang with the choir. He was a member of the Folly Beach Anglers.
He is survived by his mother of Folly Beach, S.C.; one daughter, Audra C. Rhodes of James Island, S.C.; one son, T. Blake Rhodes of James Island, S.C., formerly married to Carol Bessinger Rhodes; 2 sisters, Mary Glenn Webb and her husband W.E. Webb of Atlanta, Ga. and Emmie R. Hollingsworth and her husband Edward L. Hollingsworth of Folly Beach, S.C.; 2 brothers, Thomas W. Rhodes, III and Daniel B. Rhodes and his wife Diana Rhodes all of Folly Beach, S.C.; several nieces and nephews. His sister, Millie Rhodes, predeceased him.

Mrs. Yarbrough died Thursday, December 20, 2001. Born in Bethune, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Samuel Muriel and Mary Alice West Hough. She was a homemaker, a member of Bethune Presbyterian Church and a member of Bethune Women's Club.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Frances Yarbrough Cagle of Andrews, S.C., a granddaughter, Mary Alice Cagle Young of Lake City, S.C., 2 great-granddaughters, Mary Katherine Young and Ashley Cagle Young of Lake City, S.C., a sister, Clara Frances Hough Howard of Bainbridge, Ga., and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Edwin McKinnon Yarbrough, Jr.

SMITH, Wendy
Wendy Pamela Smith, 46, of Summerville, S.C., wife of Konrad P. Smith, died Friday, December 21, 2001 at her residence.
The funeral mass will be celebrated at St. John The Beloved Catholic Church, Monday morning, December 24, 2001 at 10 o'clock. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. John The Beloved Catholic Church, 28 Sumter Street, Summerville, S.C. 29483.
Mrs. Smith was born December 26, 1954 in Providence, Rhode Island, a daughter of the late Anthony A. Martone and Viola Martini Martone. She was a 1978 Sociology graduate from Rhode Island College and was a fiscal officer with Neilson Electronics Institute.
Survivors include her mother of Providence, R.I., her husband, Konrad Phillip Smith, of Summerville, S.C.; seven sisters, Pat Lupo, Diane Dinobile and Antoinette Lamontaque, all of Johnston, R.I., Sandra Rondina of Middletown, R.I., Marie Martone of Wakefield, R.I., Bernice Mignnanelli of North Scituate, R.I. and Veronica Napolitano of Hope Valley, R.I.
