Sarah Rachel Johnson, 8, of Summerville, S.C., died Sunday, December 23, 2001, at a Charleston hospital.
Funeral services will be held at Summerville Baptist Church, Wednesday afternoon, December 26, 2001, at 3:30 o'clock. Burial will be held at Dorchester Memory Gardens. Friends may call at PARKS FUNERAL HOME, SUMMERVILLE, S.C., this Wednesday afternoon from 1 to 3 o'clock.

Sarah was born on July 22, 1993 in Charleston, S.C., a daughter of Andrew D. Johnson and Susan Wiggs Johnson. She was a 2nd grade student at Knightsville Elementary School. She attended Summerville Baptist Church.
Survivors include her father and mother, Andrew and Susan Johnson of Summerville; her sister, Laura Johnson of Summerville; her maternal grandparents, LaVerne and Bob Wiggs of Goldsboro, N.C.; her paternal step-grandfather and grandmother, Harry and Ann Johnson Randall, both of Eutawville, S.C.; three uncles, Gary Johnson of Virginia, Alan Wiggs of Kansas and Tom Kleinert of North Carolina; and three aunts, Julie Kelley of California, Brenda Wiggs of Kansas and Barbara Johnson of Virginia.

TURKNETT, Gene & Dee
Reginald E. "Gene" and his wife, Delores "Dee" (Willis) Turknett, Jr., formerly of Summerville, died together as a result of an auto accident Saturday evening in Charlotte, North Carolina. They had recently moved to Charlotte where Gene had been transferred as a district manager for Jiffy Lube.
Their funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon on Thursday, December 27, 2001 in Heritage Holiness Church, Ladson Rd., Summerville.
Friends may call Wednesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at J. HENRY STUHR, INC., NORTH AREA CHAPEL, DORCHESTER RD.

KOLB, Dawson
Dawson Bowen Kolb, 84, of Charleston, S.C., a former employee with the Charleston Co. Substance Abuse Commission, died Sunday in a Charleston hospital.
The funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27, 2001, at the graveside in Evergreen Memorial Park, Sumter, S.C. Burial, directed by DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER, will follow.
Mr. Kolb was born March 14, 1917, in Pinewood, S.C., a son of Clifford B. Kolb and Camilla Geddings Kolb. He was a member of the New Covenant Baptist Church, Mt. Pleasant. He was a member of the American Legion. He was a graduate of Sumter High School. He served in the Army in W.W. II in Cattery C. 178th Field Artillery, the first battalion division. He served in 630 days of combat in the invasion of North Africa, Sicily, and Italy.
Surviving are his wife, Doris Earls Smith Kolb; three daughters, Margaret Smith Vilanueva of Moncks Corner, and Cheryl Smith Graves and Karen Smith Mann both of New Smyrna Beach, Fla.; a son, Charles Timothy Smith of Johnson City, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

BODIFORD, Lurline
The relatives and friends of Mrs. Lurline Weatherford Bodiford, of Moncks Corner, S.C., widow of James H. Bodiford, Sr. are invited to attend her funeral services, 3:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, December 26, 2001, in the CHAPEL OF DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. SANSBURY, Douglas
EFFINGHAM - Douglas Bryant Sansbury, 87, died Monday, December 24, 2001, at her residence after an illness.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2001, in John Calvin Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, directed by WATERS-POWELL FUNERAL HOME. The family will receive friends at the residence, 907 McLaughlin Road, Effingham.
Mrs. Sansbury was born in Darlington County, a daughter of the late Grover C. Bryant, Sr., and Ethel Stackhouse Bryant. She was a graduate of Dovesville High School and Winthrop College. She was a retired teacher, having taught 33 years in Florence County schools of Elim, Tans Bay, J.C. Lynch, and Southside.
She was a member of John Calvin Presbyterian Church. She was a member of the Florence County Retired Teacher's Association, a charter and present member of Effingham Post #160 American Legion Auxiliary and a charter and present member of Bannockburn Garden Club.
She was predeceased by her husband, Baron E. Sansbury; four sisters, Mary B. DuRant, Ellen B. Clark, Ruth B. McQueen, and Billie B. DeMaurice; and a brother, Grover C. Bryant, Jr.
Survivors include a daughter, Jane S. (Lenair) Thrower of Effingham; a son, Richard B. "Dick" (Nancy) Sansbury of Effingham; a granddaughter, Rebecca T. (Bill) Barnett of Florence; four grandsons, David Thrower, Steve Sansbury, and Ken Sansbury, all of Effingham, and Bryant (Amy) Sansbury of Florence; two great-grandchildren, Anna Douglas Barnett and John Byrant Sansbury, both of Florence.

WACHSMUTH, George
EUTAWVILLE - Funeral services for Mr. George Aimar "Wac" Wachsmuth, 87, of 272 Belvedere Dr., Eutawville will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, December 26, 2001 at the graveside in Summerville Cemetery.
Mr. Wachsmuth died Saturday, December 22, 2001. He was born in Charleston a son of the late George M. Wachsmuth and Daisy Burbage Wachsmuth. He was a Mason for fifty years, he was a member of Bethlehem Southern Methodist Church, and a former member of the Eutawville Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Celestia Purvis Wachsmuth; daughter, Dr. Kaye Wachsmuth of Washington, D.C.; brother, Herman L. Wachsmuth of McColl, S.C.

SEABROOK, Joseph
Joseph D. Seabrook, 86, of Mt. Pleasant died on Sunday, December 23, 2001. The memorial service will be Friday, December 28, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. in Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church. Inurnment will be private. Friends may call Thursday evening from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at J. HENRY STURH, INC., MT. PLEASANT CHAPEL.
Mr. Seabrook was born June 19, 1915 on Johns Island, the son of John L. and Ethel Guilds Seabrook. A graduate of Johns Island High School, he later attended the College of Charleston. He served in the Air Force Signal Corps during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a retired vice president of Utilities Construction Company. He was a member of Charleston Kiwanis Club, a 60 year life member of Etiwan Lodge #95AFM, and was a past elder at Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Peters Seabrook, his sons, Joseph D. Seabrook, Jr. and William Thornton Seabrook, and his daughter Deborah Ann Seabrook, all of Mt. Pleasant. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joseph D. Seabrook, III and Mackie Dubose Seabrook and his sister, Ada S. Rast of Seabrook Island, S.C.

Mr. Burkett was born April 13, 1920 in Batesburg-Leesville, South Carolina, the son of the late Felder and Sallie Fox Burkett. Mr. Burkett was an active member of Holmes Avenue Baptist Church where he was a Deacon, and past chairman of the Board of Deacons. He was a graduate of Batesburg-Leesville High School and a U.S. Army veteran serving in World War II and was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge, receiving the Purple Heart Medal. He was a retired sheetmetal mechanic and metals inspector with the Charleston Naval Shipyard and also the owner of Bexley Lawnmower Service. Mr. Burkett was a Mason and Life Member of Hammerton Lodge #332, a member of the York Rite, V.F.W., American Legion, National Association of Retired Federal Employees, Disabled American Veterans and a past member of the North Charleston Exchange Club.
Surviving are his wife of North Charleston, son, Ronnie Burkett of Goose Creek, S.C.; daughter, Dianne B. Johnson of Vienna, Va.; stepson, Billy M. Miller of Pascagoula, Miss.; stepdaughter, Lyndia M. Crotteau of Lookout Mountain, Tenn.; brother, Carl Burkett of Cayce, S.C.; sister, Mae B. Matthews of Batesburg, S.C.; four grandsons, Patrick Johnson and Erik Johnson of Vienna, Va., Jake Burkett and Jordan Burkett of Goose Creek; five step-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris Cockrell Burkett.

KINGSTREE - Mr. Henry Ernest Burrows, 53, died Monday in Moncks Corner.
Mr. Burrows was born in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Belton and Mettie T. Burrows. He attended school in Kingstree and was a forklift operator at Andrews Wire. Mr. Burrows attended the Pentecostal Holiness Church.
Survivors include, a brother, James Arness Burrows of Kingstree, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, at the graveside in the Kingstree Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at WILLIAMSBURG FUNERAL HOME, from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday.

He was a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W.

BESHERE, Roseva
Roseva Shumpert Beshere, 90, of Charleston, a retired teacher with the Charleston County Schools, died Saturday, December 22, 2001 at a local hospital. Visitation will be Wednesday 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at MCALISTER-SMITH FUNERAL HOME, DOWNTOWN CHAPEL, 150 Wentworth St., with a vigil service beginning at 6:00 p.m. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, December 27th at The Cathedral of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church with interment in Holy Cross Cemetery.
Mrs. Beshere was the widow of Joseph William Beshere. She was born in Pelion, S.C. to the late Daniel Franklin and Sarah C. Lybrand Shumpert.
She is survived by two daughters, Rose Marie (J. Peter) Murphy of Winston-Salem, N.C. and JoAnn (Kenneth E) Kosobud of Goose Creek, eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Beshere attended Chicora College in Columbia and was a graduate of Limestone College. She was a retired teacher of Memminger Elementary School. Past president and reserve member of Delta Kappa Gamma International Educators Society. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist and the Catholic Women's Club.

Mildred Porter Duane, 81, James Island, died Friday, December 21, 2001, at her residence. She was born in Phenix City, Ala., to Wilbur and Jewel Newsome Porter, a graduate of Central High in Phenix City, Ala. Mildred was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the proud mother of nine children, she was also previously on the PTA at Bishop England High School and Cathedral School. She was the widow of William M. Duane. She is survived by four sons, William M. Duane of Charlotte, N.C., and Martin J. Duane of Charleston, Christopher C. Duane of Charlotte, N.C., and John W. Duane of Charleston, five daughters, Michele Kelly of Riva, Md., Denise Davis of Lithonia, Ga., Patricia A. Duane of Charleston, Sylvia Molley of Jacksonville, Fla., Rebecca McIntosh of Lake Weir, Fla., three sisters, Martha Webster and Mittie Sanders, both of Phenix City, Ala., Mary Dotson of Albuquerque, N.M., nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.
