Entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 28, 2001. Mr. Joseph E. Russell, of Charleston, SC. Father of Ms. Tabatha D. Green, Mr. Devonne Henfield, Ms. Swantell Henfield, Mr. Joseph Russell, Jr., Mr. Larry Russell, and "Companion" Miss Yvonne Henfield. Funeral notice later. NIX, Amy
ESTILL - Mrs. Amy Joyce "Ajay" MacVicar Nix, wife of Daniel R. "Danny" Nix, died Friday evening from injuries received in an automobile accident. She was 35.
Mrs. Nix was born in Broomall, PA, January 24, 1966 a daughter of Dr. Donald N. MacVicar and Jeanne Miller MacVicar. She had just received her 10 year pin as Director of Technology with Hampton School District #2. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hampton, the Hampton County Saddle Club, and was a coach with the Hampton-Varnville Micro-Soccer League. She also played softball with the Hampton-Varnville Methodist Church Team.
Surviving, besides her husband of Estill and her parents of Hilton Head are: one son, Hunter Richard Nix of Estill; 2 step-daughters, Danielle Mixon of Estill and Shanna Nix of Varnville; 3 brothers, Terrell Waidman of Oxford, PA, Duncan MacVicar of California and Robert MacVicar of New York; 1 sister, Donna MacVicar of Burton; 2 grandchildren, Drew Hadwin and Savannah Mixon.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2:30 in the First Baptist Church of Hampton, with burial following in the Stafford cemetery near Furman. Visitation will be held Sunday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. at Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home in Hampton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friends of Hospice, P.O. Box 909, Estill, SC or to the First Baptist Church of Hampton. PEEPLES-RHODEN FUNERAL HOME of Hampton is in charge of arrangements

Perry Eugene Minnich, 20, of Summerville, SC, died October 25, 2001 at his residence.
Memorial services will be held at St. Luke's Church, Monday morning, October 29, 2001 at 10:30 o'clock..

WITHAM, George
Entered into eternal rest on October 27, 2001, George Sims "Stick" Witham, husband of Betsy Marlowe Witham, residence, Charleston, SC. The relatives and friends of Mr. and Mrs. George Sims Witham are invited to attend the funeral services of the former Tuesday at two o'clock in First (Scots) Presbyterian Church. A gathering of friends and family will be held immediately following the service, 4003 Waterway Boulevard, Isle of Palms, SC.
Mr. Witham was born December 12, 1942 in Charleston, SC, a son of George William Witham and Evelyn Sims Witham. He was a Pipefitter/Welder for the United Association of Plumbers and Shipfitters, Local #421. He was a member of First (Scots) Presbyterian Church, a graduate of Carlisle Military Academy and attended the Citadel. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was a member of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters, Local 421, The American Legion, Post #147, Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 445, the Scottish Rite of Freemason, Valley of Charleston, Omar Shrine.
He is survived by his wife; his mother; one sister, Dottie Witham George and her husband, Robert George, all of Charleston, SC.

STRUHS, Virginia

WHITTLE, Myrtle
HEALING SPRINGS, SC - Myrtle Cain Whittle, 87, died Sunday. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 30, 2001, 3:00 p.m. in the Folk Funeral Home Chapel, Williston, SC, with burial in the Blackville cemetery. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Folk Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Blackville cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 365, Blackville, SC 29817.
Mrs. Whittle was born in Barnwell County, SC, a daughter of the late Harry D. and Susie Dyches Cain. She was a Christian and a lifetime member of the Healing Springs Baptist Church, a self-giving homemaker and was food service manager for the family business. She was married to the late Mark Briggs Whittle.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law Hennis and Dorothy W. Garvin of Hampton, SC, daughter Sara Jane Whittle of Healing Springs and Summerton, SC; son and daughter-in-law, Mack Blane and Robin Whittle of Wagener, SC; sisters, Mrs. Virginia Bass of Dalton, GA, Betty Sue Gregory of Owensboro, KY; and brother, Bernard Cain of Columbia, SC. She was the proud grandmother of 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
She was predeceased in death by a daughter, Harriet Delano Williams; son, Robert Harry Whittle; sisters, Doris Gardner, Ruby Montgomery; and brothers, Gordon Cain, Briggs Cain, D.J. Cain.
