SINGLETON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Sara Louise Singleton were held Tuesday, September 7, 1999, at Wilson Chapel United Methodist Church in Greeleyville, conducted by Rev. Edward McLeod and Rev. John Williams, Jr. Burial followed at Big Springs Cemetery in Greeleyville. Mrs. Singleton, 77, died Wednesday, September 1, 1999, at Georgia Baptist Medical Center in Atlanta, Georgia. She was born March 27, 1922, in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late James Alexander Watson and Susan McFadden Watson. She was the widow of Alexander James Singleton. She was a member of Wilson Chapel United Methodist Church. She worked over 40 years as an infant/pediatric nurse in Bronx, New York. Survivors are: two daughters, Mrs. Pamela Camille Singleton of Atlanta, Ga.; and Mrs. Rosalyn Jarvis of Bronx, N.Y.; one son, Tyrone James Singleton of Atlanta, Ga.; and two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Mae Williams of Conway; and Mrs. Margaret Patricia Session of Atlanta, GA.

LESESNE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Bradley Anderson were held Saturday, September 11, 1999, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahıs Witness in Kingstree, conducted by Brother Eugene White and Brother Robert Dorsey. Burial followed in the Kingdom Hall Cemetery directed by Redmond-Richardson Funeral Home. Mrs. Anderson, 51, died Tuesday, September 7, 1999, at the Medical University of South Carolina Hospital in Charleston. She was born December 25, 1947, in Kingstree, the daughter of Mrs. Lourina Brown Bradley and the late Isaac Bradley. She attended the public schools of Williamsburg County. She was a member of Jehovahıs Witnesses. Survivors, in addition to her mother of Kingstree, are: her husband, Lucious Anderson of the home; three brothers, William Franklin Bradley, Calvin Bradley and Robert Bradley, all of Kingstree; one sister, Mrs. Ethel Lee Mitchell of Kingstree; a niece reared as a sister, Mrs. Mary Alice Wilson of Kingstree; and a first cousin reared as a sister, Mrs. Queen Ester Dukes of Kingstree, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

NEXSEN -- Jane Brewster Nexsen, 74, widow of John Alexander Nexsen, Sr., died Tuesday, September 7, 1999, in a Florence hospital. Graveside services were held Thursday, September 9, 1999, at McClary Cemetery directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home. Mrs. Nexsen was born in Meridian, Mississippi, a daughter of the late Robert and Norma Brewster. She was a graduate of Meridian High School and was a member of Williamsburg Presbyterian Church, where she had taught Sunday school for many years. Survivors are: two sons, Nicky Nexsen and John A. Nexsen, Jr., both of Kingstree; and two daughters, Norma Ann Norman of Charleston; and Barbara Jane Montgomery of Kingstree. Memorials may be made to McClary Cemetery Association, 1206 Fulton Ave., Kingstree, or to the Jane B. Nexsen Animal Care Fund, c/o the Exchange Bank of South Carolina, P. O. Box 1087, Kingstree.

PARROTT -- Thaddeus Theodore (Junior) Parrott, 65, died Monday, September 6, 1999, at his residence. Funeral services were held Thursday, September 9, 1999, in the Williamsburg Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Sandy Bay Cemetery. Mr. Parrott was born in Williamsburg County, a son of the late Rozella McKenzie Parrott and T.T. Parrott, Sr. He was a graduate of Kingstree High School and a retired farmer. He was a member of Sandy Bay Hunting Club and Woodmen of the World. Survivors are: his wife, Sybil Cantey Parrott of Kingstree; one daughter, Cindy Parrottt of Anchorage, Alaska; two sons, Milton Parrott and Calvin Parrott, both of Kingstree; and four sisters, Rosalee Springs of Kingstree; Mabel Shuler of Jamestown; Rosolyn Stephenson of Manassas, Va.; and Bobbie Casselman of St. Stephen.

TISDALE -- Mrs. Daisy Morris Tisdale, 96, widow of John Grice Tisdale, died Wednesday, September 8, 1999, in a Kingstree hospital. Mrs. Tisdale was born January 4, 1903, in Georgetown, a daughter of the late Ned and Laura Dubose Morris. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Millwood United Methodist Church. Survivors are: five daughters, Dora T. Walker of Ladson, Edith T. Jones, Alice T. Mitchum, Pauline T. Nexsen and Blanche T. Walters, all of Kingstree; and one son, Johnson H. Tisdale of Kingstree.

PEARCE -- Mrs. Annie Hodge Pearce, 84, widow of Thomas E. Pearce, died Thursday, September 9, 1999, in a Florence hospital. Graveside funeral services were held Friday, September 10, 1999, in Salters Methodist Cemetery directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home. Mrs. Pearce was born in Williamsburg County, a daughter of the late Martha (Mattie) Mozelle Odom Hodge and Fredrick Humphrey Hodge. She was a graduate of Kingstree High School and the Kansas City School of Watchmaking with a degree in engraving. She was a former employee of Williamsburg County Memorial Hospital and the Williamsburg County Sheriff's Department.

FLOWERS -- LeLand Flowers, 83, died Friday, Sept. 24, 1999, in a Charleston hospital. Funeral services were held graveside at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Coward on Sept. 26, 1999. Burial was directed by Brockington Funeral Home. Mr. Flowers was born in Florence County, a son of the late Bunion and Betty Anderson Flowers. He was retired from Sonoco Products Company and was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Wilma Filyaw Flowers of Hartsville; two sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Pryer of Missouri; and Mrs. Dora Morris of Hanahan; and two brothers, Vonzo Flowers of Sumter and Bobby Flowers of Florida.

ARD -- Jack Ard, 69, died Friday, September 24, 1999, in a Florence hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, in the Lake City Church of God. Burial followed in the Friendship Cemetery near Shilo directed by Brockington Funeral Home. Mr. Ard was born in Lynchburg, a son of the late Lucius and Marie Dennis Ard. He was owner of Ardıs & Sons Garage of Kingstree and was a member of the Kingstree Church of God. Survivors are: his wife, Mrs. Mary Lilly Floyd Ard of Kingstree; three sons, Tom Ard of Kingstree; Randolph Ard and Jack Ard, Jr., both of Florence; and two brothers, Samuel Ard of Charleston; and William Ard of Timmonsville.

CUSACK -- Herbert Leo Cusack, Sr., 75, died Thursday, September 16, 1999, at Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Funeral services were held Sunday, September 19, 1999, at the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home, conducted by Rev. Carl Hardee and Rev. Samuel B. Shumate. Burial followed in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens. Mr. Cusack was born in Georgetown on January 4, 1924, a son of the late John Jacob Cusack and Eva Elizabeth Richardson Cusack. He was a retired employee of International Paper Company. He was the widower of Elease Burkett Cusack. Survivors are: two sons, Herbert L. Cusack, Jr. of Indiantown; and Donald O. Cusack of Georgetown; two daughters, Juanita C. Plogman of Georgetown; and Melonie C. Brown of New York City, N.Y.; and three sisters, Eva Mae Wewers of Georgetown; Doris Frey of Sumter; and Lottie Jane Hill of Augusta, Ga.

GORDON -- Clarence Henry Gordon, 91, died Monday, August 16, 1999, in a Kingstree hospital. Graveside funeral services were held Wednesday, August 18, 1999, in Kingstree Memorial Gardens directed by Williamsburg Funeral Home. Mr. Gordon was born in Hemingway, a son of the late Charlton Henry Gordon and Mamie Stancil Gordon. He was retired from Russelville Lumber Co. and Georgia-Pacific Co. He was a member of St. Stephen United Methodist Church. He was married to the late Clara Maness Gordon. Survivors are: one daughter, Patsy G. Martin of Kingstree; and one son, Billy Gordon of St. Stephen.
