Adcock

45 year old Davey Adcock of Smithville died at his residence. The funeral will be Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Jimmy Wright will officiate and burial will be in the Corinth Church Cemetery. He was a paramedic and had been disabled for ten years. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Keltonburg. He is survived by his parents, Albert and Christine Adcock. A sister and brother-in-law, Emma Lou and Eugene Adkins. Special cousin, Mike and Greta Adcock and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.

Fleming

76 year old Margaret Helen Fleming of Gallatin died Saturday at her residence. She was a seamstress, homemaker, a native of Watertown, and a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Smithville. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown. Burial will be in the Brush Creek Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Grover Cleveland Hawkins, Sr. and Kinnie Mae Taylor Hawkins; her husband, Walter Fleming, and a son, Walter Larry Fleming. She is survived by four children, Dora Ann and her husband J.D. Gillette of McMinnville, Helen Marie Grandstaff and Carl Michael and his wife Bridgett Fleming all of Smithville, and Rebecca Carol and her husband Randall Brummett of Gallatin. Twelve grandchildren and twenty six great grandchildren. A sister, Rachel and her husband Estel Fleming of Brush Creek. A sister-in-law, Katherine Hawkins of Lebanon, and brother-in-law, Paul Dextraze of Texas. Hunter Funeral Home in Watertown is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Monday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Stanley

51 year old Donnie Reed Stanley of Smithville died Tuesday night at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. He was disabled and a Baptist. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Jerry Smith, Shannon Cantrell, Michael Hale, and Danny Fish will officiate. Burial will be in DeKalb Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ophalene Stanley; a sister, Jeanette Chapman; two brothers, Ray and Jerry Stanley; and his step-mother, Shelby Stanley. He is survived by his wife, Darlene Stanley of Smithville. His father, Lenzy Stanley of Smithville. Two daughters, Donna and her husband Matthew England and Tina and her husband Joey Young of Smithville. One grandson, Dakota England of Smithville. Three special nieces, Tonya Crook and Amanda and Ashley Hobbs. Special nephew, Darrell Crook. Five special children, Ashley Mooneyham, Alanna Young, Bridget, Andrew, and Tiffany Hutchens. Three step-sisters, Denise Bogle of Woodbury, Tonya Youngblood of Dowelltown, and Jennifer Kincaid of Cookeville. Sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Darnell and Wayne Crook of Smithville, Wilma Jean and Prentice Cantrell of Smithville and Janie and PI Hale of the Temperance Hall Community, Janice and Bobby Moore of Smithville, and Jimmy and Jeanine Atnip of Cookeville. Special friends, Johnny Paul, Don Groshon, and Dianna Atnip. Nieces, Samantha Hannah, Priscilla Mingle, and Drenda Murphy. Nephews, Christopher Stanley and Jerry Stanley. Several other nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews survive. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m.

Cantrell

87 year old Edward Price Cantrell of Smithville died Monday night at DeKalb Hospital of a short illness. He was a World War II veteran and a retired employee of the V.A. Hospital in Murfreesboro. The funeral will be Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Hatten Wilson Cantrell; his wife, Lillie L. Cantrell; two brothers, Glen and Alden Cantrell; and two sisters, Lucille Herndon and Helen Rose Murphy. He is survived by two nieces, Doris and her husband W.C. Crook of Smithville; Katherine and her husband Frank Glass of Tullahoma, and Lois and her husband Jim Williams of Mount Juliet. Nephews, Don and his wife Sally Cantrell of Smithville and Jack and his wife Darlene Knowles of Clearwater, Florida. Several great nieces and nephews. Two brothers-in-law, Calvin and his wife Emma Wade of Murfreesboro and Alvin and his wife Ella Wade of Woodbury. One sister-in-law, Maggie Wimberly of Woodbury. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 10:00 a.m.

Knowles

51 year old Eddie Royce Knowles of Sparta died Thursday at the emergency room of Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was a Baptist. The funeral will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Mary Cantrell Knowles and a sister, Judy Carr. He is survived by three brothers, Danny and his wife Cathy Knowles, Lanny Knowles, and Rick and his wife Angie Knowles all of Smithville. Six nieces, Mary Frances Knowles and Danielle Knowles both of Smithville, Cynthia Knowles of Texas, Deborah Knowles of Smithville, and Regina and Rosie Arnold of Smithville. Four nephews, Scottie Knowles, Terry Knowles, and Jason Knowles, all of Smithville, and Danny Wayne Carr of Baxter. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Friday from noon until 9:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Keith

51 year old Dennis Layne Keith of Smithville died Wednesday. He was a member of the Allen's Chapel United Methodist Church and an employee of the Tennessee Screw Machine in McMinnville. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Ronald Whited will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marine Hill Keith; his maternal grandparents, Willie and Mary Alice Hill; and his paternal grandparents, O'Fallon and Ewin Pack. He is survived by his father, Corbin Eudene Keith of Smithville. Three daughters, Lori Keith and Stephanie Matthews of Smithville and Crystal McCloud of Spencer. Nine grandchildren, Janda Emmons, Shea Matthews, Alanna Young, Arianna Matthews, Arrion Matthews, Lance Keith, Dyllyn Keith, Corey McCloud, and Alyssa McCloud. One sister, Kathy and her husband Phillip Debord. One nephew, Jason Bebord. One niece, Cara and her husband Shawn Everson. A great nephew, Kaleb Everson. Several aunts and uncles also survive. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.; Friday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.

88 year old Willie Evelyn Crips of Smithville died Tuesday of an extended illness. She was a housewife and a member of the Mount Pisgah Free Will Baptist Church. The funeral will be Friday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Danny Bandy will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Betty Snow Herndon; her husband, Jeff Brown Crips; a brother, Mallow Herndon; two sisters, Dexie Parsley and Gladys Jackson; a son-in-law, Brownie Adams; and a sister-in-law, Annie Belle Miller. She is survived by a daughter, Willie Brown Adams of Smithville. Four grandchildren, Mark and his wife Karen Adams of Smithville, Mike and his wife Debbie Adams of Cookeville, Vicky and her husband Randall Duke of Smithville, and Veronica and her husband Johnny Pack of Smithville. Eight great grandchildren, Amanda Goodwin, Jennifer Adams, Marla Adams, Justin Duke, Brooke Pack, Megan Pack, Jared Adams, and Mykaela Duke. A sister-in-law, Vada Herndon. Special friends, Macon and Truitt Hale and Betty Cantrell. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m.; and Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m.

Hays

73 year old Dr. James William Hays of Smithville died Saturday at his residence of an extended illness. He was a retired physician/neurosurgeon, Presbyterian, and a member of the Tennessee Medical Association. A memorial service will be held Friday. Visitation will be Friday from 10:30 a.m. until noon at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mary Marsh Hays. He is survived by his wife, Peggy Hays of Smithville. Three children, Bill and Steve Hays and Catherine Hays Zabriskie. Five grandchildren. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Frazier

63 year old Billie Ann Frazier of Huntsville, Alabama and a native of DeKalb County died Thursday from injuries received in an automobile accident in Huntsville.. She was a retired chief clerk of the Probate Court in Madison County, Alabama and a member of the Whitesburg Baptist Church. The funeral will be Saturday at 5:00 p.m. at the Spry Funeral Home in Huntsville, Alabama. Bruce Pieper will officiate. Burial will be in the Frazier Family cemetery in Dowelltown on Sunday following a graveside service at 3:00 p.m. officiated by Donald Owens. She was preceded in death by her parents, C.H. and Bernice Malone and her husband, John Frazier. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Gail and Todd Nuckels. Two sons and daughters-in-law, Bruno and Geri Frazier and Henry and Natalie Frazier. Three sisters, Jean Harney, Peggy Pearson, and Judy Sadlon. A brother, Boyd Malone. Her mother-in-law, Louise Frazier. Five sisters-in-law, Judy Kimbrell, Peggy Thomas, Deborah Fuson, Kathy Hendrix, and Lisa Cripps. Spry Funeral Home in Huntsville, Alabama is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be there from 3:30 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Saturday. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the local arrangements. Local visitation will be Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. at the Dry Creek Baptist Church.

65 year old Ray Harvey Hale of Temperance Hall died Thursday at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. He was a retired maintenance employee with the state highway department and a member of the Long Branch Community Church. The funeral will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Mark Miller and Herb Leftwich will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jeffie Davis and Aubrey Mai Putty Hale and a sister, Reba Fay Hale. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Hale of Temperance Hall. A son, Hoyte Eugene Hale of Smithville. One daughter, Rosea Nell Young of Smithville. Three brothers, Lonnie and his wife Barbara Hale of Temperance Hall, William Alton "P.I." and his wife Janie Hale of Temperance Hall. Johnny Hale and friend Tiffany of Walling. Seven grandchildren, Zackary Nathaniel Hale, Wesley Young, Devin Caldwell Hale, Quentin Stephen Hale, Tia Brooke Young, Lauren Michelle Sims, and Bethany Lynn Sims. His mother-in-law, Reba Melton of Dale Ridge. Several nieces, nephews, and friends. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral at 11:00 a.m.
