Billy Paul Mooneyham

36 year old Billy Paul Mooneyham of Smithville died Friday at DeKalb Community Hospital. He was a self employed painter and a member of the Believers Tabernacle. The funeral will be Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Sam Kinzer will officiate and burial will be in the Centerhill cemetery in Cannon County. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. He was preceded in death by his father, Arvil D. Mooneyham and two brothers, Dwight and Joseph Mooneyham. Survivors include three daughters, Kayla Nicole, Katie Leigh, and Carrie Suzanne Mooneyham; a grandson, Jayden Miguel Mooneyham; and mother, Thelma Mooneyham all of Smithville. Two brothers, Michael and wife Deborah Mooneyham of Woodbury and Christopher Mooneyham of Smithville. Two sisters, Vickie Marsh of Woodbury and Veronica Mooneyham of Smithville. Mother of his children, Dori Keith Mooneyham and several nieces and nephews survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family asks that donations please be made to Love-Cantrell Funeral Home to help with burial expenses, in lieu of flowers.

James Riley Fisher

81 year old James Riley Fisher died Friday at NHC of Smithville. He was a Baptist, member of the VFW and American Legion, an Army veteran of the Korean war and a carpenter with TVA for 15 years. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bobby Thomason will officiate and burial will be in the Banks cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be Saturday from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Fisher was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Fish; mother, Alice Fish; and grandmother, Maggie Fish. Survivors include three step daughters, Janice Fish and husband David Stewart, Tanna and husband Tony Harris; and Judy Carol Fish; and one step-son, Danny and wife Regina Fish all of Smithville. Eight step grandchildren, Danny Fish of Kentucky, D.J. Stewart, Joseph Clark, Brian Clark, Crystal Fish, and Paula Farris all of Smithville, Brandi Bennett of Seattle and Kayla Fish of Johnson City. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Aiden Alexander Felts

Aiden Alexander Felts of Smithville was born and died on Tuesday at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. The funeral will be Friday at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 3:00 p.m. The child was preceded in death by his great grandmother, Deborah Brown; great grandparents, Jimmy and Ruby Martin; and great grandfather, Willy Ray "Bill" Hobbs. Survivors include his parents, Ryan Felts and Cassondra Martin both of Smithville. Grandparents, Judy Pack of Smithville, Nancy Brown of Dowelltown, Tim and Faye Martin of Smithville, Kevin Brown of Ashland City, and Michael Brown of Ashland City. Great grandparents, Mary and Charles Felts of Springfield. Great grandmother, Frances Shultz of Smithville. Uncles, Johnny Pack, Chris Martin, and Jimmy and Ashley Martin, and Kyle Brown all of Smithville. Aunt, Jennifer and husband Nelson Davis of Smithville. Several cousins, friends, and family also survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Brookelyn Keanna Brazelton

Six week old infant Brookelyn Keanna Brazelton of Smithville died Tuesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. The family attended the Real Life Community Church. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Don Davidson and Al Mahan will officiate. Burial will be in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from noon until the service at 1:00 p.m. The child is survived by her parents, Ed and Jessica Brazelton of Smithville. Grandparents, Carolyn Root of Smithville, Steve Root of Michigan, and Katie Mae Readus of Shelbyville. Great grandparents, Helan Dougherty and Vera Gwilliams of Michigan. Three brothers, Marcus and KeShawn Brazelton both of Smithville and Cameron Brazelton of Texas. One sister, Leslie McKinnon of Tullahoma. A niece, Kaydence McKinnon of Tullahoma. Aunts and uncles, Phil Root and Matt and Alisha Summers all of Smithville and Steve and Saerica Root of Cookeville along with many other aunts, uncles, and cousins. Christine Colwell Smithson

81 year old Christine Colwell Smithson of Smithville died Monday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a secretary, sporting goods representative, and she worked at the Doctors Building. The funeral will be Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Terry Little and John Carpenter will officiate burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 1:00 p.m. Smithson was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Edna Certain Colwell; her husband, Bob Smithson; sisters, Lucille Hendrixson and Lillian Robinson; brothers-in-law, J.D. Hendrixson and C.A. Robinson; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jack and Helen Smithson. Survivors include brothers, Frank and wife Mary Colwell of Smithville, Felty and wife Sarah Colwell of Scottsville, Kentucky. Sisters, Charlene and husband Herbert Pipkin of LaFayette and Rose and husband Paul Dillen of Smithville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Bryan Jay "BJ" Davis

31 year old Bryan Jay "BJ" Davis of Carthage and a native of Smithville died Sunday after a brief illness. He was a graduate of DeKalb County High School in 1999 and a graduate of Tennessee Tech University in 2004. Davis was an educator at Smith County Middle School and the Girls and Boys Basketball Coach. He was also a member of the Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday at 4:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Bill Robertson will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 4:00 p.m. Davis was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clayton and Hazel Ray and his paternal grandfather, Carl Davis. B.J. is survived by his parents, Carl Douglas and Sandra Gail Ray Davis of Smithville. Two brothers, Jacob and wife Dana Davis and Jared and wife Kelli Davis all of Smithville. Two nieces, Kendal and Kloe Davis of Smithville. Paternal grandmother, Willene Davis of Smithville. The love of his life, Jennifer Bamford and her daughter, Reese Bamford. Aunts and uncles, Betty Davis, Edgar Davis, Kenneth and wife Lisa Ray. A host of family and friends also survive. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Helen Ruth Webb

84 year old Helen Ruth Webb of Smithville died Thursday at River Park Hospital in McMinnville. She was a member of the Whorton Springs Baptist Church and a housewife. The funeral will be Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of High Funeral Home in McMinnville. David Mahan will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Monday from noon until the service at 2:00 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Udean Webb and her parents, Lonnie, Sr. and Claudia Alice Cantrell Pirtle. Survivors include a daughter, Angela Wright of Phoenix, Arizona. A son Ronnie and wife Anita Webb of Lansing, Michigan. Four grandchildren, Jennifer Cox, Aaron Wright, and Brandon and Shenyah Webb. Two step grandchildren, Vincent and Michelle Wright. Three great grandchildren, Heath and Hayden Wright and Zenikaya Webb. Sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Charles Roberts of McMinnville and Janice and Garry Bryant of Bone Cave. Brother, Lonnie Pirtle, Jr. of Morrison and sister-in-law, Joyce Pirtle of McMinnville. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews also survive. High Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

75 year old Mary Lue Whitefield of Smithville died Wednesday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was a Home Health Aid and a Southern Baptist. A memorial service will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Junior Hibdon will officiate. No visitation will be held prior to the service. She was preceded in death by her father, William Taft Whitefield; mothers, Ethel Whitefield and Eunice Mae Lawson; two brothers, William Taft Whitefield, Jr. and Waymon Howard Whitefield; sister, Lola Mae Walker; and sister-in-law, Mary Glenn Whitefield. Survivors include six sons, Jim and wife Cari Waldrop of Smithville, James Michael Bochy of Mexico, Charles Frederick Bochy, Kenneth Wayne Bochy, Joseph Eugene Allen, and Peter Edward Bouchy all of Colorado. Two daughters, Brenda Frances and husband Edward Schodt of Colorado and Ethel Melissa and husband Jeffery Moser of Arizona. One sister, Nell Stewart of South Pittsburgh. One brother, Charles Lee and wife Sue Whitefield of South Pittsburg. One brother-in-law, Jerry Walker of Smithville. Niece, Kelly and husband Scott McClendon of South Pittsburg. Two nephews, Tim and wife Joanie Walker of Smithville and L.T. and wife Monica Pardon of South Pittsburg. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends also survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

72 year old Joann Marie Bretzlaff of Smithville died Saturday at DeKalb Community Hospital. She was formerly employed at Oak Wood Medical Center and attended the Keltonburg Missionary Baptist Church. The funeral will be Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Tom Hafstad and Lash Rice will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the service at 3:00 p.m.

Frank Truman Davis

72 year old Frank Truman Davis of Smithville died Wednesday night at his residence. He was an insurance claims adjuster for over 30 years, having served for various companies. He was retired for 11 years. Davis graduated from Mansfield Senior High, Wooster College, and the Birmingham School of Law. He sat for and passed the Alabama Bar exam. Davis was a member of the Episcopal Church and he attended the Smithville United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at the Smithville First United Methodist Church. Dr. John Carpenter will officiate. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 4:15 p.m. at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Another memorial service will be Tuesday, March 20 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Phillips Episcopal Church in Donelson. Visitation will be Monday night from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the church. Davis was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Truman and Lillian Mae Davis. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Becky Reis Davis of Smithville. Two daughters, Mary and husband Chris Brady of Nashville and Sally and husband La'Mar Franklin of Smyrna. Five grandchildren, Erin, Shannon and Dillon Brady all of Nashville, Leya and Isaiah Franklin both of Smyrna. One sister, Kathy Davis of Nashville. Two sisters-in-law, Barbara Parks of Utah and Barbara Thompson of Smithville. Brother-in-law, Sterling "Buddy" Battle of Baxter, Brother-in-law, Bill and wife Enid Reis of Mansfield, Ohio. Mother-in-law, Dorothy Reis of Nashville. Cousin, Roberta Sporrer of Lexington, Ohio. Many nieces, nephews, and friends also survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Donations may be made in his name to Justin Potter Library in Smithville.
