Haley

89 year old Willie Mae Haley of Franklin died Thursday at the Williamson Medical Center. She was a homemaker and a member of the Covenant Baptist Church. The funeral will be Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bobby Colvert will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Thomas and Sarah Ellis Keith Hendrixson; her first and second husbands, Andrew Jefferson Graham and Eldridge Milton Haley, three brothers, Tom, Jr., Sam, and Richard White Hendrixson; and one sister, Ailene Caldwell. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Sue Graham of Franklin; three grandchildren, Scott Graham of Franklin, Susan Lee Fraker, and Vera Ellen Fraker; and one great grandchild, Katelyn Lee Fraker all of College Grove. Two sisters-in-law, Nina Hendrixson of Smithville and Pauline Payne of Hermitage and two nieces, Walteen Neely and Ellen Colwell both of Smithville. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Sunday from noon until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m.

Foytik

69 year old Daniel (Danny) Foytik died Thursday of a sudden illness. The funeral will be Sunday at 5:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Odell Powell will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. He was a member of the Catholic Church and a member of the Moose Lodge and Eagle Lodge. He worked for Chrysler. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Sophie Smetana Foytik. He is survived by his wife, Lela Holton Foytik of Gassaway. Three sons, Ric and his wife Lisa of Chelsea, Michigan, Chuck and his wife Lista of Spicewood, Texas, and Skip and his wife Lois of Pinckney, Michigan. Three daughters, Patsy and her husband Dan Bertke of Hays, North Carolina, and Michelle Browning and Tammy Browning of Johnson City. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. Woodbury Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family asks that donations be made in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society.

Buckner

70 year old Frances Ann Buckner of Washington died Wednesday at Crittenton Hospital, Rochester. Buckner worked for over 21 years at the Romeo, Michigan Community Schools. She was a member of the Romeo United Methodist Church. She was the daughter of the late Charles and Martha Puckett Eller. She is survived by her husband, Ed Buckner; one son, Terry and his wife Lynette of Macomb Township; two daughters, Tammy and her husband Charles Burke of Indianapolis, Indiana and Amy and her husband Ken Freeman of Romeo, Michigan; three grandchildren, Kevin, Mark, and Timothy, and one brother Joe Eller. She was preceded in death by her son Timothy and a brother, Ralph Eller. The funeral will be Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Romeo United Methodist Church. Dr. Gary R. Glanville will officiate and burial will be in the Romeo Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Roth-Muir Funeral Home in Romeo, Michigan. Donations may be made to the Romeo United Methodist Church or the Romeo Community Schools-Washington Elementary Special Education Department. This information was provided by DeKalb Funeral Chapel.

Robinson

90 year old Elizabeth Cidney Robinson of Dowelltown died Wednesday at DeKalb Hospital. She was a Baptist and a retired cook at Ernie's Restaurant. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. C.E. York will officiate and burial will be in Salem Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Lillie Robinson and her husband, Ollie Robinson. She is survived by a daughter, Lillie H. Weaver of Dowelltown. Two sons, James W. Robinson of Kentucky and Robert D. Robinson of Texas. Twenty three grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and four great great grandchildren survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.

31 year old Jamie N. Webb of Surrey, North Dakota and formerly of Smithville, died Thursday in a Minot hospital. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at the Hope Lutheran Church of Surrey, North Dakota. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home in Minot. Memorials may be made to the Hope Lutheran Church Sunday School Fund at 200 5th Street, SW Surrey, North Dakota, 58785.

Bass

67 year old Charles "Syrup" Bass of Alexandria died Thursday at DeKalb Hospital. He was a Methodist and a TRW machine operator. The funeral will be Sunday at 1:30 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Dowell Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his father, Rhone Bass; two sisters, Mattie Lee Moore and Hattie Lucille Cox; and a brother, Rhone Bass, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Carrie Dean Tubbs Bass of Alexandria. Three sons, Dennis, Terry, and Perry Bass of Alexandria. One daughter, Becky Bass Moore of Liberty. His mother, Carrie Inez Tubbs Bass of Alexandria. Seven grandchildren. Three great grandchildren. One sister, Billie McKinley of Carthage and several nieces and nephews. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

Cripps

91 year old Ben W. Cripps of Lebanon died Thursday at Summit Medical Center. He was a DeKalb County native, a retired machinist from Genesco, and a member of the Gladeville United Methodist Church. The funeral will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home in Lebanon. Charles Walker and Wayne Malone will officiate and burial will be in Salem cemetery at Liberty. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lon and Mattie Rhody Cripps along with several brothers and sisters and a grandson, Darryl Allen. He is survived by his wife, Hettie Jackie Mosley Cripps. Two sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry and Annette Cripps of Alexandria and Robert and Faye Cripps of Grand Rapids, Michigan. A sister, Leona Shelton of Lenoir City. A grandson and his wife, Ben and Jolie Cripps of Louisville, Kentucky. Two great grandsons, Ross and Neil Allen of Bowling Green, Kentucky and a great great grandson, Gavin Allen. Ligon & Bobo Funeral Home in Lebanon is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Johnson

56 year old Sherman Johnson of Liberty died Wednesday at River Park Hospital in McMinnville. He was owner of Johnson Tree Service. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Kingdom of Jesus Church where he was a member. Glenn Chapman will officiate and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Pauline George Johnson and a brother, Jimmy Johnson. He is survived by his wife, Linda Chapman Johnson. Four daughters, Lisa Mofield of Carthage, Bridgette Murphy of McMinnville, Sissy Murphy of Illinois, and Amy Johnson of Lebanon. One son, Timothy Proctor of McMinnville. Six grandchildren. Five brothers, Teddy and Bill Johnson of Smithville, Jerry Johnson of Brush Creek, Michael Johnson of Carthage, and Lester Johnson of Portland. Four sisters, Sue Vaughn of Smithville, Paulette Crawford, Ann Bennett, and Fay Gorman all of Carthage. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The family has requested that all donations be made to Love-Cantrell Funeral Home to help with burial expenses in lieu of flowers. Visitation will be Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at the church. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Marlin

47 year old Kathy Malone Marlin of Hot Springs, Arkansas died Sunday night at Tunica, Mississippi of a sudden heart attack. She was a waitress and a Baptist. The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Michael Hale will officiate and burial will be in Salem cemetery in Liberty. She was preceded in death by her father, George Frank Malone. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Wayne Marlin of Hot Springs, Arkansas. Three children, Doug, Joe and Nichole Marlin all of Hot Springs, Arkansas. A granddaughter, Kali Marlin. Her mother, Olida Keaton Malone of Murfreesboro. Two brothers, Donnie and Tim Malone of Murfreesboro. Two sisters, Diane Butler of Nashville and Debbie Thomason of Leoma. Her father and mother-in-law, Jerry Thomas and Betty Jean Marlin of Franklin. A brother-in-law, Terry Marlin of Franklin. A sister-in-law, Linda Cartwright of Franklin. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m.

Jones

82 year old Zelda Jones of Silver Point died Monday at her home. She was a DeKalb County native and a retired Teacher's Assistant at Silver Point and the Baxter Elementary Schools with 23 years of service. She was also a member of the Silver Point Presbyterian Church, Putnam County and DeKalb County Home Demonstration Clubs and the Cookeville VFW Auxiliary. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Woody Russell and Morgan Wallace will officiate and burial will be in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Sammie Cantrell Foutch and her husband, Ernest L. Jones. She is survived by cousins, Marilyn Herman of McMinnville and Robbie Davis of Huntsville, Alabama along with special friends, Nancy Prince, Evelyn Buck, and Barb Leahy. The Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
