King, Robert C., age 65, of South Knoxville, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 1998 at home. Retired from U.S. Army. Served in Korea and Vietnam.
Sons: Robert C. King, Jr. and Charles C. King Graveside service 11:00 AM Friday at Pollard Cemetery in Kodak, TN., Rev. Tom King officiating.
The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Thursday Berry Funeral Home Chapman Highway.

Dale Richard Nowlin

Dale Richard Nowlin, age 70 of Kodak died Tuesday April 17, 2001. He was retired from Medallion Mgt. Inc. He was the first director of Mecosta County Central Dispatch, Mecosta County, Michigan, and was a businessman in Barryton, Michigan. He was a musician in the area for many years. He was preceded in death by son, Randy Nowlin. Survivors: Wife: Charlene Nowlin Daughters and Sons-in-law: Linda and David May, of Remus, MI Sandy and Tim Theunick, of Hersey, MI Diane and Craig McKenzie, of One Kama, MI 7 Beautiful Granddaughters 4 Special Grandsons 6 Great Grandchildren Sisters and Brothers-in-law: Donna and Robert Mohr, of Sun City, AZ Dora Place, of Eaton Rapids, MI He will be greatly missed by all. Services will be held at a later date in Michigan. Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville, TN.

Preceded in death by husband, Roe Chance; son Raymond Chance and a daughter, Alyne Taylor. Daughter: Faye Henegar of Gainesville, FL Funeral service 2:00 PM Tuesday April 11, 2000 at Berry Chapel with Rev. Mike Henegar officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, one hour prior to the service, at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Hwy.

Member of Mount Olive Baptist Church, Old Maryville Pike and was a trustee pf Mount Olive Cemetery. He was co-owner and secretary-treasurer of Berry Morticians, Inc. Licensed funeral director and embalmer, Graduate of Young High School and Dallas Institute-Gupton Jones College of Mortuary Science. Former member of Rockford Lodge No. 469, F & AM. Past master and charter member of South Knoxville Lodge No. 769, F & AM. Member of Knoxville Scottish Rite. Avid sportsman. Surviving: wife, Mrs. Shirley Mizell Berry; daughter, Miss Leigh Ann Berry; sons, Timothy Edward Berry and Jeffrey Bryan Berry; mother, Mrs. Georgia Rule Berry; sister, Mrs. Eddie(Nancy) Lee; brothers, Fred O. Berry, Jr., Dr. David A. Berry; step-mother, Mrs. Fred O. Berry, Sr.; several nieces and nephews. Funeral 2 p.m. Friday, Mount Olive Baptist Church, Dr. Kenneth C. Hubbard officiating. Interment Mount Olive Cemetery. Pallbearers: Martin Bartling, Jerry Griffey, Frank Brown, Wallace Thurman, Thurman Smith, Cecil Clark, George McMahan, Bill Harper. Honorary Pallbearers: Leslie Smith, William Berry, John Davis, employees of Berry Funeral Home, members of the Tennessee Funeral Director's Association and area ministers. Masonic services will be conducted at the grave. The body will lie in state at the church 1 hour before services. Friends may call at their convenience at Berry Funeral Home.

Matthews, granddaughter Sheila Lowe, grandson Brandon Matthews, daughter-in-law Gail Matthews, and siblings Genny Collier, Lou Matthews, Grace Norton, Mary Norton, Willie Hodge, Mattie Price, and John Carnes. Her survivors include her: Sons and daughters-in-law: Carroll H. and Mary Matthews, Blaine Matthews, Wendell and Lois Matthews, Malcom and Carolyn Matthews Daughter: Brenda Matthews 11 grandchildren 14 great-grandchildren 4 great-great-grandchildren Several nieces and nephews and many friends and loved ones Funeral service 7 PM Friday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Clancy ''C.T.'' Watson

Clancy “C.T.” Watson, age 79 of Sevierville, went to be with the Lord at his heavenly home on Thursday, May 8, 2008. He was a member of Zion Grove Baptist Church. Mr. Watson was retired from the U.S. Navy and was a long time employee of the Gatlinburg Fire Department. He was also the owner/operator of C & O Cab for many years. Preceded in death by his parents, John M. & Rosetta Watson; brothers, Burl Watson, Carl Watson, and Russell Watson; sisters, Dell Seaton, Vella Roberts, Iva Key, Jett Naugher, and Eva Oakley. Survived by: Wife: Shirley Watson Son: Tony L. Watson & wife Candace Daughter: Alecia F. Douglas & husband Dale Grandchildren: Stacee & Jared Watson; Cody & Casey Douglas Brother: Charlie Watson & wife Annette Several nieces and nephews Funeral service 2 PM Sunday in the West Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. D.A. Cole and Rev. Melvin Carr officiating. Interment will follow in Zion Grove Cemetery with military honors. Pallbearers will be the members of Pigeon Forge Fire Department. William ''Bill Conway Boruff

William “Bill” Conway Boruff of Sevierville, passed away Thursday, May 08, 2008. He was born April 9, 1927 in Monroe County, Tennessee to Denham and Pearl Sloan Boruff. He graduated from Sweetwater High School and Tennessee Technological University with a degree in Agronomy. He taught elementary school in Monroe County and vocational agriculture in McMinn County for four years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy where he served as an instructor and headed the program Veterans on the Farm. William came to Sevier County as a District Conservationist with the U.S. Department of Agriculture in 1959 and retired here after 34 years with the Soil Conservation Service. William gave technical assistance to individuals, groups, organizations, cities, counties, and state government in reducing the costly waste of land and water resources. Mr. Boruff served as past President of Tennessee Council of Soil Conservation Service of American and East Tennessee Chapter Soil Conservation Service of America and East Tennessee Chapter Soil Conservation Society of America. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Sevierville, American Legion, TN Outdoor Writers Association, and Sevier Economic Development Committee. He served as past Chairman of County Conservation needs, and past Vice-President of Sevier County Sportsman Club, Secretary of Sevier County Jaycees, and served on the Sevier County Defense Board. William loved outdoor sports, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and coached Little League ball teams for many years. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Doris Jean Boruff; parents Denham and Pearl Boruff and sister Bea Greene. Survivors: Wife of 57 years: Lola Aileen Campbell Boruff Sons: Jim and Ron Boruff Daughter: Joetta Stewart and husband Rick Grandchildren: Jed Boruff, Zach Boruff, Aisha Boruff, Hannah Stewart, Jordy Stewart Great-grandchildren: Kailey Reed and Issac Stewart Sisters: Margaret Lewis, Jannah Hicks and husband Doyle Several nieces and nephews Funeral service 7 PM Friday in the East Chapel of Atchley Funeral Home with Rev. Melvin Carr officiating. Interment 11 AM Saturday in Smoky Mountain Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be C.H. Tarwater, Jack Denton, Chuck Atchley, Rush Parrott, Jim Atchley, James Runyan, Bud Shields, Johnny King, and Frank Gibson. The family will receive friends 5-7 PM Friday at Atchley Funeral Home, Sevierville.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Sevierville and Order of the Eastern Star # 138, where she was Past Matron. Mrs. LaFollette was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Eva Henderson; husbands Charles H. Fine, Sr. and Glenn A. Lafollette; sister Hazel Henderson Fox; brothers Carl W., Edsel and Don Henderson. Survivors: Son: Charles H. Fine, Jr. and wife Anita Grandson: Charles H. Fine, III and girlfriend Jennifer Rutherford Granddaughter: Tangie K. King and husband Scott King Great-grandson: Willard L.
