Nathan Cleo Housley, of Dayton, died Friday, April 30, 1999, at his home. He was 39.
A lifelong resident of Dayton, Mr. Housley was a member of Salem Baptist Church in Dayton.
Survivors include his son, Nicholas Housley of Spring City; parents, Cecil and Elizabeth Housley of Dayton; sisters, Juretta Hale, Sandy Davidson and Renee´ Shook, all of Dayton; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 3, at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald and Dr. Mike Young officiating. Burial was in Spence Cemetery in Dayton. Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home in Dayton was in charge of the arrangements.
Kenneth Nelson Johnson
Died: 04/30/1999
Kenneth Nelson Johnson, of Evensville, died Friday, April 30, 1999, at his home. He was 58.
Born in Tracy City, Tenn., Mr. Johnson was a lifelong resident of Rhea County. He was a retired operator from Watts Bar TVA and of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Flora Lockhart Johnson; brothers, Leo and Leon Johnson; and daughter, Rhonda Johnson.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Reed Johnson of Evensville; daughters, Roxanne (Cricket) Collier and Kim Shelton, both of Evensville, and Carla Shelton and Glenda (Coty) Reed, both of Spring City; brother, Herman Johnson of Chattanooga; sisters, Lee Morrison of Spring City and Gladys Meeks of Grandview; seven grandchildren, Samantha Lemons, Kenneth, Marshal, Ronnie and Ann Shelton, Austin Norris and Sheryl Collier; great-grandchild, Coty Alexandria Lemons; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, May 2, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Couch officiating. Interment was in Friendship Cemetery in Spring City. Vaughn Funeral Home in Spring City was in charge of the arrangements.
Billy Rae Lewter

Billy Rae Lewter, of Dayton, died Saturday, May 1, 1999, at Rhea Medical Center. He was 21.
Mr. Lewter was a member of North Dayton Church of God.
Survivors include his parents, Robert and Rita Lewter of Dayton; brother, Carey Lewter of Dayton; half-brother, Dale Lewter of Chicago, Ill.; half-sisters, Sherri Cornell and Dawn Lewter, both of Chicago; maternal grandmother, Mary Blood of Whiting, Ind.; several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Marilyn Kay Garrison

Marilyn (Lulu) Kay Garrison, of Dayton, died Thursday, May 6, 1999, at Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga. She was 47.
Born in Rhea County on December 13, 1951, Mrs. Garrison lived in Dayton all her life.
She was a homemaker by trade and of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Garrison loved crafts. She was preceded in death by her parents, James (Buck) and Katherine Whitfield Reel, and two sisters, Debbie Reel and Pat Smith.
Survivors include her husband, Oland (Big Man) Garrison of Dayton; son, James (Sambo) Garrison of Dayton; daughter, Shannon Garrison of Dayton; brothers, Tony Reel of Sale Creek and Pete and Larry Carter of Dayton; sister, Vickie Powell of Graysville; and grandchildren, Shane Riley and Paige and Savannah Garrison, all of Dayton.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 8, in the chapel of Vanderwall Funeral Home with Rev. Clyde Fitzgerald and Rev. Jim Hillian officiating. Burial was in Rhea Memory Gardens in Dayton. Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton was in charge of the arrangements.

Jennifer Michelle Rich, of Dayton, died Saturday, May 8, 1999, at her home. She was 27.
Survivors include her mother, Linda Garrett of Dayton; brothers, Jimmy Martin and Mike and Mark Richey, all of Dayton; and three nieces.

Deborah Anne Cagle, of Spring City, died Thursday, May 6, 1999, at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga. She was 32.
Born in Oak Ridge, Tenn., Mrs. Cagle moved to the Spring City area two years ago and worked as a security guard for Borg-Warner at Watts Bar Nuclear Plant. She was of the Baptist faith.

Cagle of Spring City; mother, Sarah Blevins Luksic of Spring City; stepfather, Mark Luksic of Spring City; father, Gary Allan Williams of Claxton, Tenn.; stepmother, Pat Williams of Claxton; daughters, Ashley A. Holland of Talbott, Tenn., and Rachel A. Russell of Spring City; stepsons, Dustin and Zachary Cagle of Spring City; sister, Karen Franklin of Spring City; stepbrothers, J.B. Luksic of Calvert City, Ky., and Fontaine King of Oak Ridge, Tenn.; stepsisters, Kim L. Castleberry of Gilbertsville, Ky., Lela Moses of Claxton, and Elizabeth Simpson of Oak Ridge; grandparents, Mary Lucille Williams of Oak Ridge, and Russell and Martha Blevins of Kingston, Tenn.; and two nephews.

Eugene (Hook) Sinclair

Eugene (Hook) Sinclair, of Dayton, died Sunday, May 9, 1999, at Rhea Medical Center. He was 76.
A lifelong resident of Rhea County, Mr. Sinclair was a retired farmer and a member of Waldens Ridge Seventh-day Adventist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Georgia Sinclair, and his son, Darell Sinclair.
Survivors include his wife, Leona Sinclair of Dayton; sons, Buddy Sinclair of Dayton, and Charles Sinclair of Spring City; daughters, Wanda Hoover of Pikeville, and Barbara Haley of Whitwell, Tenn.; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, May 11, in the chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with Pastor Homer Barrett and Pastor Woodson Walker officiating. Burial was in Agee Cemetery in Pikeville. Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home in Dayton was in charge of the arrangements.
Carl R. Bryant

Carl (Peanut) R. Bryant, of Ten Mile, Tenn., died Sunday, May 9, 1999, at Athens Regional Medical Center. He was 70.
Mr. Bryant was a member of Watts Bar Church of God in Decatur and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Flossie Bryant, and his brother, Charlie Bryant.
Survivors include his wife, Mae Bryant of Ten Mile; sons, David and Wanda Bryant of Decatur, Ronnie and Peggy Bryant of Georgetown; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Kenneth Simons of Cleveland, and Cathy and Donnie Smith of Spring City; brother, Neil Bryant of Maryville, Tenn.; sisters, Alice Davidson of Maryville, Gwendolyn Boring of Alcoa, Tenn., and Nalene Hayes of Hot Springs, Ark.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, May 12, at Watts Bar Church of God with Rev. Kenneth Goins, Rev. Chris Pugh, Rev. Robert Ivy and Rev. David Johns officiating. Burial was in Ten Mile Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bill England, Troy Malone, Ronnie Hixson, Fletcher Cross, Denny Brown and Jim Hampton. Bowers Funeral Home in Decatur was in charge of the arrangements.
Hazel L. Jewett

Hazel L. Jewett, of Spring City, died Monday, May 10, 1999, at Spring City Care Center. She was 89.
A native and lifelong resident of Rhea County, Mrs. Jewett was the daughter of the late Jeff and Mary Cordelia Suttles Lavender. She was a homemaker by trade and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Spring City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd Jewett, and brothers, Ralph and Roy Lavender.
Survivors include her brother, Bill Lavender of Spring City; sisters, Verna McPherson of Ringgold, Ga., Edna Meadors of Pine Knot, Ky., and Pauline McCulley of Spring City; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, May 12, in the chapel of Vaughn Funeral Home with Rev. Don Allison officiating. Burial was in Spring City Cemetery. Vaughn Funeral Home in Spring City was in charge of the arrangements.

Graveside services were conducted Tuesday, May 11, in Babyland in Rhea Memory Gardens in Dayton with Rev. E. Walter Seera officiating. Vanderwall Funeral Home in Dayton was in charge of the arrangements.
Irene Maude Sage

Irene Maude Sage, of Dayton, died Monday, May 10, 1999, at Rhea Medical Center. She was 85.
Mrs. Sage was preceded in death by her husband, George Henry Sage of Dayton.
Survivors include her son, Brian Sage of Dayton; sister, Elaine Chamberlaine of Moosejaw, Canada; brothers, John Stevens of England, and Stan and Brin Stevens; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and newpews.
