Alma F. Brown
Alma F. Brown, 87, of Springfield, died Thursday, March 25, 2004 at her home.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 28 at 3 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Smith officiating.
Interment followed in Memorial Gardens.
She born on Jan. 25, 1917, to the late Lee and Molly Parker Fletcher.
Mrs. Brown was a homemaker and a member of North Springfield Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband Carl Benton Brown Sr.
Survivors include; sons, Bob K. (Rebecca) Brown of Springfield, Joe K. (Peggy) Brown of Springfield; daughters, Carole B. (Richard) Cannon and Susan R. Brown, both of Springfield; a sister, Lila Self of Springfield; eight grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Robertson County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Eula Mae Head
Eula Mae “Pete” Head, 84, of Cedar Hill, died Sunday, March 28, 2004, at NHC Healthcare in Springfield.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 30 at 1 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Bro. David Outlaw, Bro. Jerry Whitworth and Bro. Kenneth Walker officiating.
Interment followed in Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Head was born July 5, 1919, in Robertson County to the late John Thomas and Minnie Head White.
She was a member of Heads Free Will Baptist Church and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brother, Bob White and a sister, Frances Fort.
Survivors include her husband, Miles Robert Head of Cedar Hill; daughters, Loucretia “Crecy” (Wilson) Minnis of Cedar Hill, Crystal (Bill) Champion of Chattanooga, Pam (Bob) Champion of Cedar Hill and Connie (Wayne) Lowe of Cedar Hill; brothers, J.T. White of Springfield, and Donnie White of Cedar Hill; sisters, Neva Ellis, Joyce Whitworth both of Cedar Hill and Ann Broerman of Lethia, Fla.; six grandchildren, Terry Minnis, Christie Seeley, Stephanie Dorris, Jennifer Champion, Michael Minnis and Julie Champion; and five great-grandchildren, Laura Beth Seeley, Jason Minnis, Morgan Dorris, Jessica Seeley and Jeff Minnis.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. All donations may be sent c/o Robertson County Funeral Home.

Edith Jean Scarbrough
Edith Jean Mitchell Scarbrough, 76, of Springfield, died Saturday, March 27, 2004, at St. Thomas Hospital.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 30 at 11 a.m. with Rev. John Norris officiating.
Interment followed in Oakland Cemetery.
Mrs. Scarbrough was born Aug. 8, 1927, in Robertson County, to the late John Milton and Ethel Sherry Mitchell.
She was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church and was a retired telephone operator for BellSouth.
She had a love for sitting at her breakfast table and watching her birds, and fishing. She had a tremendous love for family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, John, Paul, Joe (Pop) and Roy Mitchell.
Survivors include her husband, William Raymond Scarbrough of Springfield; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry (Bubba), and Mary Scarbrough of Orange Park, Fla., and David and Terri Scarbrough of Madison; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Donnie Templeton of Goodlettsville, Regina and Barry Duhe of Paulina, La., and Peggy Harris of Springfield; brothers, Neal Mitchell and Billy Mitchell, both of Springfield; a sister, Julia Warren of West Palm Beach, Fla.; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Robertson County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Clifton Curtis Smith
Clifton Curtis Smith, 75, of Springfield, died at his residence Tuesday, March 23, 2004.
Funeral services were held at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield Friday, March 26 with Bro. Frank Kirby and Malcolm Grizzle officiating.
Interment followed in Memorial Gardens.
He was a supervisor with a Tool & Die Company and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was born in Adairville, Ky. on Dec. 12, 1928, to the late Demp and Addie Lena Goodwin Smith.
He is preceded in death by a grandson, Bryan Vincent and a brother, Ray Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Lula Braswell Smith of Springfield; a son, Ricky Smith of Springfield; daughters and son-in-law, Faye and Larry Parrigin of Springfield, Vicky Vincent of Springfield; a brother, Glenn Smith of Adairville, Ky.; sisters, Mary O. Nean Crotzer of Adairville, Juanita Dempsey of Adairville, Ky.; grandchildren, Angela Smith, Michael Parrigin, Chris Vincent, Jason Vincent and Cory Parrigin.
Pallbearers for the service were John Walker, Bobby Powell, W.D. Edwards, George Stricklin, Wait Whittenburg, and Randy Qualls.
Austin & Bell Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.

Brenda Goodman Fischler
Brenda Goodman Fischler, 83, of Rockville, Md., died Thursday, March 18, 2004, at Rockville Nursing Home.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, March 22 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Rockville with Rev. William Archer officiating.
Interment followed at Parklawn Memorial Park in Rockville, Md.
Mrs. Fischler was born March 25, 1920, in Hopkinsville, Ky., to the late William Raymond Goodman Sr. and Ametta Head Goodman.
Her family moved soon after to Cedar Hill where she spent her formative years.
She served in the U.S. Army Air Corps, Woman’s Auxiliary Corps during World War II.
She was a retired librarian, having worked for the University of Maryland, the Naval Medical Center and Montgomery County, Md.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jordan Fischler, her brother, William Raymond Goodman II, and her sister, Mary Catherine Goodman.
Survivors include her son, Alan Robert Fischler; daughter-in-law, Diana Farabaugh Fischler; granddaughter, Grace Marie Fischler of Lyndhurst, Ohio; a son, Benjamin Raymond Fischler and daughter-in-law, Becky Jean French of Parkville, Md.; grandson, Daniel Jordan Fischler of Hyattsville, Md.; sister-in-law, Polly Goodman of Springfield; nephews, William Raymond Goodman III of Springfield and Thomas Goodman of S. Lyon, Mich.; many other relatives and friends in Robertson County and around the world.

Ida Mae Smith
Ida Mae Smith, 62, died Friday, March 26, 2004.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, March 28 at 2:30 p.m. at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in White House, with Bro. Bobby Flatt and Bro. Larry Flatt officiating.
Interment followed at Halltown Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Andy Flatt, John McCormack, Jimmy Fite, Walter Fite, Steven Smith, Tim Smith, Mike Williams, and Anthony Hughes.
Survivors include her husband, Robert Smith; daughters, Teresa (Larry) Flatt, Rita (Floyd) Smith, Cathy (John) McCormack; son, Steve (Robin) Smith; sisters, Doris Allen, Mary Bailey, Marty Bodley, Betty Leach, Carolyn Johnson; brothers, Walter, Jimmy and Richard Fite; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Austin & Bell Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.

Louise Hall
Louise Hall, 70, died Friday, March 26, 2004 in Donelson.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 29 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Frank Evans officiating.
Interment followed in Memorial Gardens.
She was born in Robertson County Nov. 2, 1933, to the late John Everett and Mary Frances Brown Crain.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Charles Hall of Donelson; sons and daughters-in-law, James and Jenifer Hall of Donelson, Fred Hall Jr. of Smyrna, Bobby Joe and Pamela Hall of Antioch; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherrie and Joe Semmes of Brentwood;, Carolynn and Wayne Parker of Donelson, Anita Gamble Webb of Brentwood; brothers, Gene Burton Crain of Springfield, Jimmy Crain of Live Oak, Fla., Benton Crain of Live Oak, Fla., Bill Crain of Ovido, Fla.; sisters, Sue West of Springfield, Margaret Shoaf of Dulk City, Fla., Terri Cranford of Shawnee, Okla., and Linda Faye Vaden of Tullahoma; 11 grandchildren; a great-grandchild.
Grandsons served as pallbearers.
Austin & Bell Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.
