Howard Hawkins Coleman
Howard Hawkins “Pete” Coleman, 73, of Springfield, died Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003, at Centennial Medical Center.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, Nov. 8 at 3 p.m. in the Oakhurst Chapel of the Robertson County Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Smith and Rev. Mike Duff officiating.
Interment followed in Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Coleman was born March 11, 1930, in Robertson County to the late Howard Elias and Jessie Mac Perrey Coleman.
He was a retired barber and cab driver.
Mr. Coleman owned and operated Pete’s Fireworks for many years.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, where he served during the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Coleman was a member of North Springfield Baptist Church and the Disabled American Veterans.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Jewell Thomas Coleman and by his sister, Bobbie Nell Clark.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Graves Coleman of Springfield; a son, Jeff Coleman of Springfield; daughters, Cecelia Hendley and husband Larry of Springfield, Donna Raley and husband, Mark of Springfield; brothers, Byrns and Larry Coleman both of Wingate, N.C.; a sister, Joan Hair of Clarksville; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Coldstream Christian Camp.
Robertson County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Wanda Faye Childers
Wanda Faye Childers, 60, of Centerville, died Monday, Nov. 3, 2003, at the Baptist-Hickman Hospital.
Graveside services were conducted Thursday, Nov. 6 at 11 a.m. in Memorial Gardens with Rev. Michael Smith officiating.
Mrs. Childers was born Aug. 26, 1943, in Robertson County to the late James Mathews and Georgia Mae Graves Pope of Springfield.
She was a member of Springfield Baptist Church.
Mrs. Childers was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Childers Jr.
Survivors include a son, Travis Childers of Alexandria, Va.; a daughter, Erica Childers of Dickson; a brother, Gary Pope.
The family requests contributions be made to North Springfield Baptist Church or to the Gorham McBane Public Library.
Robertson County Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Bernadine Patton
Bernadine “Mim” Hunnicutt Patton, 65, died Monday, Nov. 10, 2003, at her home.
Remains are at Austin & Bell Funeral Home, White House, where the family will receive friends Wednesday, Nov. 12 (today) from 4 until 8 p.m.
Graveside services and interment will be held Thursday, Nov. 13 at 2 p.m. at Nashville National Cemetery, Gallatin Road, Nashville with Rev. Joe Vickers and Dahl Johnson officiating.
Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Howard Luther “Pop” Patton.
Survivors include a daughter, Teresa (Tank) Kinn; sons, Rufus Durham, Luther, Ricky and Lawrence Patton; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Frances Hunnicutt; brothers, William Jefferson “Jeff” Hunnicutt, and John B. “Jack” Hunnicutt.
Austin & Bell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Barbara Ann Bridges
Barbara Ann Bridges, 50, of Springfield, died at Elm Hurst Nursing Home Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2003.
Funeral services were held in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield at 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8 with Bro. Ray Holland officiating.
Burial followed in Memorial Gardens.
She was born in Robertson County June 9, 1953, to Dock and Annie Douglas Bridges of Springfield.
She is preceded in death by a brother, John Edgar Bridges.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Judy Roland of Springfield.
Pallbearers were Richard Douglas, Jeremy Koonce, James Winchester, DeWayne Winchester, Glenn Brown, George Douglas, Zachary Clark, Danny Byard, Bo Scuggs and Timmy Scuggs.
Austin & Bell Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.

Robert Mason Calloway Sr.
Robert Mason Calloway Sr., 83, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2003, at his home.
Funeral services were held in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Springfield Friday, Nov. 7 with Rev. Alfred Thompson officiating.
Burial followed in Elmwood Cemetery.
He was born in Springfield on Feb. 23, 1920, to the late Joe and Virginia Couts Calloway.
Mr. Calloway was a retired bank official in Springfield with the First National and Dominion Banks and he also served in the U.S. Navy.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by a brother, Joe Hill Calloway.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Woodard Calloway of Springfield; sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Carolyn Calloway Jr. of Knoxville, John W. Calloway of Griffin, Ga. and Joe and Annette Calloway of Nashville; a daughter, Ellen Bush of Nashville; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.
Austin & Bell Funeral Homes was in charge of arrangements.

Robbie Mai Utley
Robbie Mai Utley, 87, died Nov. 8, 2003, at NorthCrest Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 11 at 1 p.m. at First Missionary Baptist Church, Springfield, with Rev. Martin P. Winslow and Rev. Garry D. Jones officiating.
She was a native of Robertson County and attended Robertson County schools.
She was a faithful and devoted member of New Wells Grove Baptist Church.
She was married to the late Rev. James Roy Utley. They served as pastor and first lady of New Wells Grove Baptist Church for 53 years.
She is preceded in death by her husband and two children.
Survivors include five sons, Lee Roy (Sarah) Utley, Virgil (Jean) Utley, Memphis (Jean) Utley of Springfield, Ronnie (Jennie) Utley of Nashville, Perry (Gloria) Utley of Chicago, Ill.; two daughters, Mary Griffey and Robbie Jean (Henry) March of St. Louis; 22 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Clara Harris of Springfield and Ebbie Groves of Nashville; brother-in-law, Wallace (Jeannie) Utley of Springfield; sisters-in-law, Bertha Coleman and Ethel Thompson of Nashville, Lockey Dee Utley of White House; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; and very devoted friends, Edith Goodner, Jennifer Lucus, Vincent Chatman and Gladys Forte and other dear friends.
Serenity Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

James Kendrick
James Kendrick, 51, of Springfield, died Nov. 5, 2003, at Gateway Medical Center.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 10 at St. James Baptist Church with Rev. Gardner officiating.
Burial followed at Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his mother, Elnora Kendricks of Springfield; four brothers, Simon Kendrick and Paul Kendrick, both of Springfield, Jeffery Kendrick and Larry McKissick of Louisville, Ky.; sisters, Stella Dowlen of Louisville, Betty Gardner of Springfield, Fannie Green of Memphis, Robbie Gardner of Adams, and Elenore McKissick of Springfield.
Parham Funeral Directors was in charge of arrangements.
