CAMPBELL, MRS. NAOMI M. “Tish” (March 2, 1936 – January 19, 2017), age 80, Tracy City, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, January 19, 2017 at The Bridge At Monteagle. She is preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Duxie" Campbell, Jr. ; son, Lanny Campbell; daughter, Brandy Campbell; brothers, Jeff and David Meeks; sisters, Elsie Meeks, Edna Nunley, Eleanor Wimpy, Myrtis Adams. Survivors include her sister, Alice Meeks; daughters, Lynn Campbell, Tracy City, Tennessee, Renea (Richard) Oliver, Flat Branch, Tennessee; son, Shawn (Stacey) Campbell, Tracy City, Tennessee; grandchildren, Sherry, Jay, Rickey, Amy, and Derek,Angela Layne; great grandchildren, Justin, Jake, Shanda, McKinley, Jaylynn, and Braylynn; several nieces and nephews. Graveside service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 21, 2017 in the Clouse Hill cemetery with Reverend Mike Rigsby officiating, the family will receive friends Saturday from 12 noon – 2:00 P.M. At Foster & Lay Funeral Home. HOLLOWAY, MR. JAMES LINWOOD, JR., (September 3, 1942 – January 19, 3017),James Linwood Holloway, Jr., age 74, of Calera, AL, passed away on January 19, 2017 at his residence. Mr. Holloway is survived by his wife, Deanna Holloway; his five children, Debbie (Aron) Fraser, Bob Hooloway, Jay (Dyan) Holloway, Bill (Erika) Holloway and Paula (Ken) Mackey; sister, Lynn Holloway Williams; 15 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren. A celebration of life was held on Sunday, January 22, 2017 at the Valleydale Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL. Arrangements were provided by Foster & Lay Funeral Home, Tracy City, Tennessee, (931) 592-3691.

HARGIS, MRS. Dorothy H. (May 23 1940 – January 16, 2017), age 76 of Tracy City, Tennessee, passed away Monday, January 16, 2017 at STRHS in Sewanee, Tennessee. She attended Tracy City First United Methodist Church and was a member of Tracy City OES #262, she enjoyed working with children at Tracy City Elementary School and later at Annex Cafe. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Dot Wiggins.
Survivors include her husband, Billy (Willie A.) Hargis, Tracy City, TN; son, Donald (Nicole) Hargis, Cleveland, TN; daughter, Judy (Mark) LaCour, Jupiter, FL; brothers, Bobby, Billy Buddy and Eddie Wiggins; sisters, Betty Johnson, Janie Manning; grandchildren, Whitney, Christopher La Cour, Leah Hargis, and Alex Clark; several nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Orange Hill cemetery with Reverend Danny Coffelt officiating, the family will receive friends Friday from 4 – 9 P.M. At Foster & Lay Funeral Home.

NUNLEY, MRS. SONJA GAIL, (March 8, 1948 – January 8, 2017) 68, died, Sunday January 8, 2017 at her home. She was born in Winchester, Tennessee on March 8, 1948 to William and Reba Partin Lawson who preceded her in death along with her husband, Leslie H. Nunley; grandparents, Allie and Pat Partin, Eula Lawson; brothers, Bobby Raymond and James David Lawson; great grandson, Gage; several aunts and uncles. She was of the Baptist faith. She is survived by her sons, William "Bill" (Marie Nolan) Jackson and Jamie (Sheay Wise) Jackson; daughter, Regina Nunley; grandchildren, Michelle and Donna Manley, Kyle and Lyndsey Jackson; great grandchildren, Alaya Jackson and Zoey Cole. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Larry Layne officiating with burial to follow in the Plainview Cemetery. Visitation: 10:00 AM until time of service Tuesday at Foster and Lay Funeral Home, Tracy City, Tennessee.

SCOTT, MR MICHAEL HUGHES, Sr., (June 16, 1957 - On January 7, 2017) . lost his long, hard battle with cancer but won the war with eternal life. Mike was a hard-working, generous, humble and kind-hearted man. He was a member of Simchat Torah Bible study group and a member of Monteagle Volunteer Fire Dept. Mike is preceded in death by his father, George Hughes Scott. Mike is survived by his wife, Gina Scott of Monteagle, TN and his children, Hollice "Holly" Jackson of Sequatchie, TN, Michael (Kelly) Scott of Bryant, AL, Joshua (Brooke) Scott of Sequatchie, TN and stepdaughter, Julie Phillips of Monteagle, TN. Mike is survived by eight grandchildren, Austin and Houston Jackson, Silsbee and Quinlan Arueyingho, Morgan and Tyler Scott and Jagger and Joplyn Scott. Mike is also survived by his mother, Lorene Smith and stepfather, Andy Smith of Bryant, AL. Mike is survived by three sisters, Deb (Roger) McCarty of Bryant, AL, Phyllis Thomas of New Hope, TN and Alisha (Randy) Cook of Bryant, AL. Mike was blessed with many loving neices and nephews Graveside Service on January 8, 2017, at 12pm cst at New Hope cemetery in New Hope, TN. Celebration of Life Service on January 14, 2017 at 1pm cst at Foster Falls Community Center at Jasper Mountain, TN.

SANDERS, MR. JAMES DARRELL “DIRTY” (1955-2017), 61, of Coalmont, died unexpectedly Monday, January 2, 2017 at the Hospital at Sewanee. He was born in Palmer, Tennessee on May 3, 1955. He was preceded in death by his father, James Ernest "Sham" Sanders; daughter, Misti Sanders; nephew, Patrick Sanders; granddaughter, Taylor Wockasen. He was owner of Darrell's Auto Parts in Coalmont being in business for almost 31 years.
He is survived by his wife, Valerie Burrows Sanders; mother, Allie Jean "Shorty" Worley Sanders; daughters, Candace (Clayton) Geary; Tonya (Tony) Wockasen and Alex (Christopher) Rhea; brother, Danny (Betty) Sanders; grandchildren, Chelsi, Connor, Carson, Lauren, Emma, Tyler, Trenton and Stanley; great granddaughter, Eliza; niece, Holly and her son Aaden.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday in the funeral home chapel with Minister Dennis Rollins officiating with burial to follow in the Palmer Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, TN.

MURVIN, MR. THEOREN JERROLD, JR., (1929 – 2017) Mr. Theoren Jerrold Murvin Jr., 87, of Altamont, died, Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at the Elmcroft Senior Living facility in Chattanooga. He was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania on October 22, 1929 to Theoren J. Murvin Sr. and Lillian Barwick Murvin who preceded him in death along with his step-mother, Agnes Sandra Murvin; sister, Laura Whitley. He was retired from United Airlines and was a pilot in the United States Airforce and the Civil Air Patrol also serving as chaplain. He was of the Presbyterian faith. He was active in prison ministry in Florida and Tennessee. He attended Bethany College. He is survived by his daughter, Lori Murvin, Sandusky, MI; son and daughter-in-law, T. J. Murvin III (Sarah) ; brother, Chris Murvin, Orlando, FL; 3 grandchildren. Funeral services were held Saturday in the funeral home chapel. Burial was at the City of Pompano Beach cemetery in Pompano, Florida. Arrangements were provided by Layne Funeral Home, Altamont, TN.

DYKES, MR. CARL E., age 90, (1926 – 2017) of Tracy City, Tennessee died at his home Thursday evening, January 5, 2017. He was a retired machinist, a WW II U. S. Army veteran and a member of Central Church of Christ in Tracy City. Carl and his wife, Dorace had operated the Tracy City Dairy Bar in the 1950's and 60's. Carl was born in Marion County near Tracy City on October 22, 1926, a son of the late Clinton and Nancy Lee O'Neal Dykes, he was preceded in death by his wife, Dorace Goodman Dykes; brothers, Stanley, Gordon, Grady, John and Carmon Dykes. Survivors include his wife, Bettye P. Dykes; children, Carl Ronald Dykes, William Harold (Kathy) Dykes and Charlotte Patricia (Wade) Campbell; step-children, Paula Paseur and Shirley Ann Street Hunziker; sisters, Eula Mae Dykes and Marie McDaniel; 5 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren and 6 step-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Brother Alan Mayes officiating. Burial was in City Cemetery, Tracy City. The Sequatchie Valley Veterans Honor Guard provided full military honors for Mr. Dykes. Arrangements were provided by Cumberland Funeral Home of Monteagle, TN.

BURROWS, MRS. KATHLEEN, (1938 – 2017) Mrs. Kathleen Burrows, age 78, of Coalmont, passed away Friday morning, January 6, 2017, at The Bridge in Monteagle. She was a daughter of the late Drew and Bessie Roberts Campbell and was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Burrows; son, Russ Burrows; sister, Francis Nunley; brothers, Mart and Jack Campbell.
Survivors include her sons, Greg (Angela) Burrows and Scott Burrows; sisters, Edwene Morrison, Dolly Tate and Corine Brown; grandchildren, Allie, Jack and Journee Burrows; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held Monday in the funeral home chapel with Brother Ray Winton officiating. Burial was in Coalmont Cemetery. Arrangements were provided by Foster & Lay Funeral Home, Tracy City, TN.

CURTIS, MRS. RUBY GLADYS, 97, (1919 – 2016), died Friday December 16, 2016 at her home with her family near. She was born in Tracy City on October 2, 1919 to Morgan Johnson and Beulah Carrick Johnson who preceded her in death along with her husband, Monroe H. Nunley; son, Monroe Nunley Jr; sister, Betty Sue Johnson; brothers, Elbert Loys, Bill, Barney, Jack and Wesley Johnson; grandson, Justin Curtis . She is survived by her sons, John Bruce Curtis and James (Sharon) Curtis; daughters, Christine (Scotty) Layne, Kay (Harold) Layne and Jackie (Mike) Jordan; sisters, Mary “Duck” Nunley and Josephine Caldwell; 15 grandchildren; 37 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at the Fall Creek cemetery with Gregory Curtis officiating and a poem by Shasta Jones. Visitation: 3:00 PM – 9:00 PM Monday at Layne Funeral Home, Palmer, Tennessee.
