Ava Martin

LUFKIN - Ava Lee Martin, 79, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 1997, in a Lufkin hospital.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Whittlesey officiating. Burial will be at Calvary cemetery at Nogalus Prairie. Arrangements by Gipson Funeral Home.

She was born in Wichita Falls and was a resident of Odessa for 36 years before moving to Lufkin in 1980. She was a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Husband, James A. Martin of Lufkin; son, James Oliver Martin of Grand Prairie; daughter, Wanda Coe of Dallas; brother, J.Q. Hall of Los Angeles; sister, Vivian Loretta Eggelston of Fort Wayne, Ind.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

William Morris

SHEFFIELD - William Harrison Morris, 75, a retired ranch worker, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 1997, at his residence.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Sheffield Church of Christ. Burial will be at Sheffield cemetery. Arrangements by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home of McCamey.

He was born in Montell and had been a resident of Sheffield since 1976. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Church of Christ.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Annie Lois Morris of Sheffield; sons, Charlie Ross Morris and Keith O'Neal Morris, both of Sheffield; brother, Paul Medith Morris of Fort Stockton; sisters, Pauline Everett of Fort Stockton, Jenella Poitevint of Pecos and Juanita Pixley of Bryan/College Station; and four grandchildren.

Marshall Mullis

ASPERMONT - Marshall Tolbert 'M.T.' Mullis, 86, a retired farmer, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 1997, in Aspermont.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Aspermont Church of Christ with Bob Phillips officiating. Burial will be at Aspermont cemetery. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home.

He was born in Swenson and was a resident of Aspermont. He was member of the Church of Christ.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Thelma Mullis of Aspermont; sons, Marshall Don Mullis of Aspermont and John Neal Mullis of Dickinson; sisters, Mattie Frank of Arlington and Velma Irene of Odessa; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Beatrice Graham

ODESSA - Beatrice Graham, 79, former owner of a local beauty shop, died Friday, Nov. 14, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God with the Rev. Scott Sprouse officiating. Burial will be at Gaines County South cemetery in Seminole. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

She was born in Seagraves and had been a resident of Odessa since 1948. She was a member of Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Frank Graham of Odessa; sons, Harold Jennings of Escandia, Calif., and Joe Browers of Midland; daughters, Iva Smiley of Odessa and Linda Cherry of Kilgore; brother, Tommy Teague of Hobbs, N.M.; sisters, Triona Bingham and Bobbie Jenkins, both of Odessa; 19 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Celia Sosa

MIDLAND - Celia Jimenez Sosa, 62, a homemaker, died Friday, Nov. 14, 1997, at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Midland.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Ellis Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with the Rev. Robert Vretrau officiating. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.

She was born in Presidio and moved to Odessa as a teen-ager. She was a Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Ricardo Sosa Sr. of Midland; sons, Richard Sosa, Roy Sosa, Benny Sosa, Hector Sosa and Gilbert Sosa, all of Midland; daughters, Arcelia Molinar, Susana Robledo and Juanita Rodriguez, all of Midland; brothers, Emigido Jimenez, Refugio Jimenez and Luis Jimenez Jr., all of Odessa; sister, Agapita Hernandez of Odessa and Ester Garcia of Albuquerque, N.M.; 23 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Maria Davis

REFORM, ALA. - Maria Spruill Davis, 92, a retired administrator and teacher, died Tuesday, Nov. 4, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital.

Services were held at 1 p.m. Nov. 8 at Miles Chapel Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. James Wilson officiating. Burial was in Piney Grove Memorial Gardens in Carrollton, Ala. Arrangements by Reform Memorial Funeral Home. Local arrangements by Martinez Funeral Home.

She was born in Carrollton, Ala., and had lived in Odessa since 1994. She was Methodist.

SURVIVORS: Sons, William O. Davis Jr. of Odessa; Marion J. Davis of Bowling, Ky.; daughter, Georgia G. Wilder of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; brothers, Lacy Spruill of Carrollton, Ala.; Oliver Spruill of Tuscaloosa; John Spruill of Washington, D.C.; sisters, Amanda Davis of Tuscaloosa; Jeffery Roberts of Chicago, Ill.; and 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren

Emiliana Galindo

ODESSA - Emiliana C. Galindo, 60, an employee at the Pecos Enterprise newspaper, of Odessa died Friday, Nov. 14, 1997, at her residence.

Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday at Christ the King Catholic Church in Balmorhea. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, with Father Antonio Mena officiating. She was born in Balmorhea. She was a Catholic.

SURVIVORS: Sister, Maria Villarreal of Odessa; brothers, Rosendo Galindo of Balmorhea, Reynaldo Galindo of Odessa and Julian Galindo of Odessa; 16 nephews and 14 nieces.

Danny Hilliard

ANDREWS - Danny G. Hilliard, 60, a retired oil-field employee, of Andrews died Friday, Nov. 14, 1997, at his residence.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at the Andrews Old cemetery, with the Dr. Jimmy Braswell officiating.

He was born in Greenville. SURVIVORS: Wife, Louetha Hilliard of Andrews; son, Bradley Hilliard of Houston; brother, John M. Hilliard, of Haughton, La; two grandchildren.

Mary Curry

STEPHENVILLE - Mary Ball Curry, 91, a retired teacher, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 1997, at her residence.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. today at Gardens of Memory cemetery in Stephenville. Arrangements by Stephenville Funeral Home.

She was born in Farmersville and was a resident of Odessa before moving to Stephenville in 1985. She was a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: Sisters, Marjory Kitchens of Stephenville and Kathryn Lawrence of Littleton, Colo.

Angela Lopez

ODESSA - Angela H. Lopez, 74, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 1997, at her residence.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Angeles Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Fred Davila officiating.

Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home Angeles Memorial Chapel.

She was born in Cerro Chino and was a resident of Odessa.

SURVIVORS: Husband, Vicente Lopez of Midland; sons, Pablo H. Garcia and Ramon H. Garcia, both of Rankin, and Salvador 'Chava' H. Garcia of Monahans; daughters, Socorro G. Natividad of Midland and Alicia G. Torres of Odessa; 18 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Marguerite Davis

ODESSA - Marquerite Wood Davis, 80, a retired owner of a retail shop, died Monday, Nov. 17, 1997, at Medical Center Hospital.

Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert F. Fuller Jr. officiating. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

She was born in Wilmington, Del., and moved to Odessa in 1987 from Wilmington, Del. She was Episcopal.

SURVIVORS: Daughter, Ludie Warner, of Odessa; and two grandchildren.

Florence Decker

MUNDAY - Florence Decker, 93, a homemaker, died Friday, Nov. 14, 1997, in Knox County Hospital.

Graveside services were held Sunday at Goree cemetery with the Revs. Jeff Christian and John Hall officiating. Arrangements by McCauley-Smith Funeral Home.

She was born in Livingston and was a resident of Knox City. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

SURVIVORS: Son, J.C. Decker Jr. of Odessa; daughters, Gypsy Lee McMullin of Blackwell and Ima Jean Brockett of Munday; sisters, Ola Coffman of Munday and Pauline Howry of Yuma, Ariz.; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
