Doris Fair
ODESSA — Doris Fair, 78, of Odessa, passed from this life on Jan. 10, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital.
Graveside services were at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003, at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
She was born on March 17, 1925, in Ranger, Texas, to Maggie and T.T. Notgrass. Doris married Wilmeth E. “Mutt” Fair July 20, 1946, in Stephenville. She came to Odessa in 1948 from Dublin, Texas. Doris worked in the cafeteria for Ector County Independent School District as a baker and cook. She also worked as a clerk for G C Murphy and as a seamstress for Skibell’s. Doris also enjoyed crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband “Mutt” Fair; and brother, Milton Notgrass.
Survivors include her daughter, Paula Fair Edwards and husband, Jimmy, of Odessa; son, Terry Fair of Houston; brother, J.D. Notgrass of Granbury, Texas; sisters, Lucille Mosley of Odessa and Mary Sharp and husband, Don, of The Colony, Texas; granddaughters, Kerri Sissney and husband, Ronnie, of Lynchburg, Va., Kristi Young, and husband, Layne, of Odessa, and Kelli Edwards of Irving; grandsons, Chris Fair, Dustin Fair and Cullen Fair, all of Houston; great-grandchildren, Peyton Young and Parker Young, both of Odessa.
Arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Billie Ross
ODESSA — Billie Ross, 66, of Odessa passed from this life Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003. Born March 23, 1936, in Cisco, Texas, she was a graduate of Cisco High School. Billie moved from Andrews to Odessa, of which she has been a resident for 26 years and has enjoyed being a homemaker.
She is survived by her three sons, Kenneth “Carl” Ross, Loyd Bradley Ross, and Kendell Ray Ross; her nephew, Jerry Ray Ross; and her five grandchildren, Lance, Lacey, Brandon, Kristopher, and Lauren Ross, all of Odessa.
There will be a visitation Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at Sunset Memorial Chapel, with interment following at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Frances Mitchell
ODESSA — Frances “Kika” Villa Mitchell, 54, of Odessa, a homemaker, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 15, 2003, at the Hospice House in Odessa. She was born in Orogrande, N.M.
Public viewing will be from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2003. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill cemetery.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Eufracia Munoz Villa.
She is survived by her son, Alan Villa of Odessa; daughter, Audra Tavarez and husband, Jacob, of Odessa; brothers, Antonio Villa of Atlanta, Ga., Albert Villa and wife, Maggie, Alfonso Villa and wife, Socorro, and Abel Villa and wife, Debbie, all of Odessa; sisters, Joelda Villa and husband, Sotelo, Olga Chavez and husband, Valdo, Delma Tercero and husband, Richard, and Oralia Villa, all of Odessa; father, Albert Villa Sr. of Portales, N.M.; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Angel Olivas, Shannon Sotelo, Daniel Tercero, Aaron Villa, Adrian Villa and Abraham Villa. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony Villa, Juan Diego Guerrero, Andrew Villa, Jacob Tavarez, Estefan Guerrero, Lanny Orona Jr., Rito Suniga and Markus Villa.
Services entrusted to Memorial Services/Chapa Funeral Home, 1050 S. Dixie Blvd., Odessa, Texas.

Beulah B. Eakins
ODESSA — Beulah B. Eakins, 85, of Odessa, passed away Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, at Avalon Place.
She was born Dec. 24, 1917, in Thurber, Texas, to Jim and Hattie Beasley. She was the youngest of their eight children.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 20, 2003, at the Sixth and Jackson Church of Christ with Lynn Money officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
Beulah Eakins married James W. “Bill” Eakins on Jan. 19, 1938. She had lived in Odessa for 40 years. She had been a bookkeeper by profession and had been employed by R.E. Mims at the downtown Walgreens and the Eighth Street store when it moved. She was a Christian and a member of the Sixth and Jackson Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; all siblings; and her husband, who died Jan. 10, 1968.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Gold and husband Jerry of Odessa; son, James W. Eakins Jr. and wife Marge of Fort Worth; six grandsons; five great-grandsons; one great-granddaughter; and one great-great-granddaughter.

B. A. ‘Bud’ Falkner
ODESSA — Bernard A. “Bud” Falkner, 86, passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital.
He was born Aug. 31, 1916, to Benjamin A. and Maude M. Falkner in Colorado City, Spade County, Texas.
Bud was a foreman in the oilfield construction industry. He worked for Bowden Oilfield Construction for many years. He served in Australia during World War II in the U. S. Army. He was Baptist.
There will be a family visitation scheduled from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, January 20, 2003, at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
His parents; and one sister, Ruby Pearl Bolin, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his ex-wife, Ann Selvidge of San Antonio; daughter, Judy Dye of San Antonio; one sister, Mildred Rogers of Odessa; two grandsons, Brent and Ross Dye, both of San Antonio; four nephews, several cousins, and many friends.
Services are under the direction of Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Oquilla Holmes
MCCAMEY — Oquilla Holmes, 90, of Austin, formerly of McCamey, passed away on Friday, Jan. 17, 2003, in Austin.
She was born in Sherwood, Texas, on Jan. 5, 1913. She graduated from McCamey High School in 1931, attended Business College in San Angelo, and worked for AAA in Upton County Court House in Rankin in the late 1930s. She moved back to McCamey in 1942 where her husband, Hal Holmes, started Holmes Well Service Company.
Oquilla was President of the McCamey Chapter of the Business and Professional Women’s Club as well as the McCamey Study Club. She was employed at Humble Oil and Refinery Company (now known as Exxon) as an executive secretary to the superintendent. In the 1950s, she purchased and operated “The Fashion Nook” Ladies Clothing Store in McCamey. In 1974, after the death of her husband, she moved to Kingsland on Lake LBJ. There she was a member and Worthy Matron of the Kingsland Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. In 1987, she moved to Temple until 1995 when she moved to Austin to be near her son and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends in West Texas, Kingsland, and Temple.
She had traveled extensively and loved seeing new and beautiful places. She loved nature and especially loved butterflies which she collected in many forms and shapes. She liked sunsets and stargazing. She was thrilled and excited when the Haile-Bopp Meteor was visible for several weeks. Her hobbies were painting, fishing, and collecting butterflies. She was a member of The First Christian Church in McCamey.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, Hal Holmes; parents, Fayette and Lottie Haning; daughter-in-law, Doris Holmes; brother, Mabry J. Haning; sisters, Imalea Middlton and Emalea Poynor; sister-in-law, Jackie Pollard; brothers-in-law, Willie D. Poyner and Pete Pollard.
She will be sadly missed by her son, Tomie Holmes; grandson, John Holmes and wife Martha; granddaughters, Jennifer Chandler and husband Jim, and Julie Hanson and husband Doug; great-grandson, Austin Brown; great-granddaughter, Laura Hanson; numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19, 2003, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at First Christian Church in McCamey with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Interment will follow services at Resthaven cemetery, where she will be laid to rest by her husband.

Truman Jones
BIG SPRING — Truman Jones, 88, of Big Spring, died at 2:32 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 16, 2003, at his residence following a lengthy illness.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at Trinity Memorial Park. Memorial services will follow at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Flynn Long officiating.
Mr. Jones was born on Sept. 13, 1914, in Marion, Ind. He was the son of Nora Wiley Jones and William “Bill” Jones. He grew up in Fort Worth and was a veteran, having served with the Marines as a radio communication specialist during World War II.
He married Dotsy Jones on Oct. 11, 1943, in San Diego. They moved to Big Spring from Odessa in 1948. She preceded him in death on June 26, 1998.
He opened Truman Jones Motor Company in Big Spring in 1947 and was the Lincoln-Mercury dealer for more than 20 years. He served on the National Advertising Board for Lincoln. His dealership sold more Lincolns per capita than any other dealership in the nation for several years. After selling the automobile dealership, he was involved in land brokerage and sales, the most recent being at Timberon, N.M.
Mr. Jones was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, having served as a deacon and elder. He was involved in a number of civic activities, especially the Chamber of Commerce. He served as president and was also Man of the Year.
He is survived by his daughter, Libby Jacobus of Midland; four grandchildren, Ann Jacobus Kordahl and husband Jim of Paris, France, Bill Jacobus of Tallahassee, Fla., Lacy Jacobus Ficklen and husband Robert of Coppell and Todd Jacobus of Washington, D.C.; six great-grandchildren; one sister, Juanita Haynie of Fort Worth; and six nieces.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Jones.
The family suggests memorials to the Parlor Fund at the First Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 2222, Big Spring, Texas 79721.

Charles Barnard Lambeth
ODESSA — Charles Barnard Lambeth was born Oct. 15, 1925, in Corpus Christi, Texas, to A.D. and Faye Lambeth. Charles was named in honor of the family doctor that delivered him at hone, Dr. W.C. Barnard.
Charles married his high school sweetheart, Patricia Power in San Antonio, Texas, on Jan. 3, 1946. Pat and Charles had four children, Marla Lambeth Glass, Brian Lambeth, Jeffrey Lambeth and LeAnn Lambeth Rodgers.
Charles graduated from Corpus Christi High School and was a veteran of World War II where he served in the U.S. Air Force. After the war, Charles entered the University of Texas at Austin and received his Bachelor’s of Science degree. In 1949, he was accepted into the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas, and graduated from the medical school with honors in 1953. Upon graduation, he went back to his hometown of Corpus Christi, Texas, and served his internship at Memorial Hospital. After the internship, Dr. Lambeth opened a general practice in Kingsville, Texas. During this time, he decided on a pediatric specialty and returned to UTMB in Galveston to further his education and completed his pediatric residency. In 1962, Dr. Lambeth received his certification from the American Board of Pediatrics.
Dr. Lambeth later moved to Odessa, Texas, in July of 1960, and opened a pediatric practice with special interest in learning-disabled and handicapped children. Dr. Lambeth’s dedication to pediatrics and education began a career devoted to the children and families of the Permian Basin.
Dr Lambeth was elected to the Ector County School Board and served from 1968 through 1974, serving as President from 1972 through 1974. He organized and served on the Permian Basin Advisory Committee for Learning Disabilities; served as Chief of Pediatrics at Medical Center Hospital and Women’s and Children Hospital; served as President of Ector County Medical Society and Medical Director of the Permian Basin Rehabilitation Center. In 1980, Dr. Lambeth attended the American Association of Pediatrics in-service training program on The Care of the Handicapped Child. He continually attended seminars and workshops keeping abreast of new medical research and received his re-certification by the Pediatric Board in 1981. He was a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics Section on Child Development, Texas Medical Association Committee on School Health, Texas Pediatric Society Committee on the Handicapped Child, Member of Texas Education Agency Advisory Committee on School Health and of the advisory committee on Early Childhood Intervention. He also served as an Associate Pediatric Clinical Professor at Texas Tech Medical School and was a member of the advisory board of Attention Deficit Disorder United Support of Odessa. Dr. Lambeth was a founder of Odessa Regional Hospital, formerly known as the Women’s and Children’s Hospital in Odessa, Texas. Dr. Lambeth was also active and served on the board for the City of Midland Swim Team. In 1998, Dr. Lambeth was honored to receive an award presented by the Heritage of Odessa Foundation for Excellence in Community Service in the field of Health and Science. Dr. Lambeth enjoyed special interests, which included a love of music, Civil War history and genealogy.
His mother, Faye Lambeth; his father, A.D. Lambeth Jr.; and his brother, Dan Lambeth of Corpus Christi, Texas, preceded Dr. Lambeth in death.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia Lambeth of Odessa, Texas. Family includes, Marla and Marty Glass of Lewisville, Texas; Brian and Earlene Lambeth of Austin, Texas; Jeffrey Lambeth and Felicia Gatlin of Dallas, Texas; and LeAnn Lambeth Rodgers of Denton, Texas. Dr. Lambeth was respected and loved by his grandchildren, Haley Gault, Kristin Gault, Christine Lambeth, Brady Lambeth, Kaci Lambeth, Tori Lambeth and Zachary Rodgers. Extended family includes, Monica Tanner, Zachary Glass, Casey Skelton, Thomas Skelton, Rachel Skelton, Natalie Skelton and cousin, Billy Harris.
Dr. Lambeth passed peacefully at Home Hospice in Odessa, Texas, on Saturday, Jan. 18, 2003, after a lengthy illness with Parkinson’s disease.
A memorial service will be held in celebration of his life at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2003, at the Lutheran Church of the Risen Lord, in Odessa, with Pastor James Otterness and Pastor Chris Connor officiating. Interment will be on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, in Corpus Christi at Seaside Memorial Park, 4357 Ocean Drive.
Honorary pallbearers include lifelong friends, Leon Martin, Dr. Dale Jones, Bill Norrod, cousin Dan Harris and grandchildren Zachary Rodgers and Brady Lambeth.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Parks Methodist Retirement Village, Younger Center at Manor Park in Midland, Texas, Midland Memorial Hospital and Home Hospice in Odessa, Texas.
For those who wish, memorial may be made in Dr. Lambeth’s memory to Home Hospice, 903 N. Sam Houston Ave., Odessa, TX, 79761.
