MONAHANS — John Summers, 63, formerly of Monahans, a general laborer, died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at Seton Medical Center in Austin.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Monahans Memorial cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Box officiating. Arrangements by Heritage Funeral Home.
He was born in Monahans. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Mother, Ozelle Byrd of Austin; brother, Ray Summers of Austin.

Alyne Gray
MARFA — Alyne Gray, 88, of Marfa died Thursday, May 22, 2003, at her residence.
Services are pending with Memorial Funeral Home in Marfa.

David Jennings
ODESSA — David Keith Jennings, 41, of Odessa, a financial sales manager, died Sunday, May 18, 2003, in Midland County.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Belmont Baptist Church with the Rev. Bryan Saffle officiating. Arrangements by Stanton Memorial Funeral Home and Chapel.
He was born in Odessa.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Cynthia Lauren Jennings of Odessa; son, Tyler Jennings of Fort Madison, Iowa; daughter, Tiffani Jennings of Fort Madison, Iowa; mother, Joann Dalton of Odessa; brothers, Larry Shepherd and Wesley Jennings, both of San Antonio; one stepson; and one step-daughter.

Everett Thompson
ODESSA — Everett Thompson, 88, of Odessa, a mechanic, died Wednesday, May 21, 2003, at Deerings Nursing Home.
No services have been scheduled. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Massachusetts and was a longtime resident of Odessa. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Sons, William Thompson of Orlando, Fla., and Robert Thompson of Port LaVaca; daughters, Elaine Ludeman of Orlando, Fla., and Louise Gibson of White Sands, N.M.; 30 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

Manuel Valenzuela
ALPINE — Manuel R. Valenzuela, 93, of Alpine, a 25-year rancher for Zeb Diece, died Monday, May 19, 2003, at his residence.
Rosary will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the family residence. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church with the Rev. Rick Ruiz officiating. Burial will be at Holy Angels cemetery. Arrangements by Geeslin Funeral Home.
He was born in Terlingua. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Jesusita Valenzuela of Alpine; daughter, Julia Leyva of Alpine; sons, Manuel Valenzuela, George Valenzuela and Joe Valenzuela, all of Alpine, Gilberto Valenzuela and Raymundo Valenzuela, both of Odessa, and Alfonso Valenzuela of Andrews; sisters, Eulalia Portillo of Litchfield Park, Ariz., Fidela Granado of Loving, N.M., Anita Carrasco and Maria Luisa Biscaino, both of Carlsbad, N.M.; 25 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren.

ODESSA — Arthur Dixon Bethea, 82, of Odessa, a retired oilfield employee, died Monday, May 19, 2003, at his residence.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Ector County cemetery with Joe Ramirez officiating. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
He was born in Banks, Ark. and served in the Army during World War II.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Maxine Bethea of Odessa; sons, Albert D. Bethea of Luling, Billy Ray Bethea of Robstown and Daniel Bethea of Corpus Christi; brother, Billy Ray Bethea of Warren, Ark.; sister, Helen Dodgion of Fruita, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Candelaria Gonzales
MONAHANS — Candelaria P. Gonzales, 78, of Monahans, a housekeeper and cook, died Saturday, May 17, 2003, at her home.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Johns Catholic Church with the Rev. John Lucido officiating. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Family Funeral Services/Jackie Harkey.
She was born in Boquitas, Mexico.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Gloria Canava of Monahans; brothers, Ambrocio Gonzales of Forest Grove, Ore., and Cenonon Gonzales of California; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

FORT STOCKTON — Louella E. Kneupper, 72, of Bakersfield, a homemaker, died Sunday, May 18, 2003, in Bakersfield.

She was born in Wetmore and has lived in Bakersfield since 1975. She had previously lived in Marathon.
