ODESSA — John “Big John” Williams, 60, of Odessa, a retired oil consultant, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, in Wisconsin, of cancer.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Odessa and was a lifetime resident of Odessa.
SURVIVORS: Son, John R. Williams of Houston; daughters, Stacey Blomberg of Clayton, Wis. and Tara Pena of Sulphur, La.; and four grandchildren.

Lilian DeWees
ODESSA — Lilian “B” DeWees, 89, of Odessa, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at Deerings Nursing Home.
Services are pending with Odessa Funeral Home.

Willie Payne
FORT STOCKTON — Willie Mae Payne, 97, of Fort Stockton, a homemaker, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, in Odessa.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church of Fort Stockton with the Rev. Jim Miles officiating. Burial will be at East Hill cemetery. Arrangements are by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
She was born in Runnels County. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Thelma Jean Pistole of Odessa and Bobbye Kincaid of Fort Stockton; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

R.D. Phillips
ODESSA — R.D. Phillips, 68, of Odessa, a retired employee of B.S.I., died Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at his residence.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Amarillo. He was a U.S. Marines veteran of the Korean War.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Lynne Stuart and Barbara Elaine Phillips, both of Odessa; brother, Larry Phillips of Lubbock; sister, Barbara Parker of Seminole; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Beulah Ruckman
ODESSA — Beulah Lee Ruckman, 89, of Amarillo, a homemaker, died Sunday, Nov. 23, 2003, at Bivins Memorial Nursing home in Amarillo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Sherwood Church of Christ with Lynn Money and Lowell Chaffin officiating. Burial will be at Resthaven North cemetery in Midland. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Robert Lee, Texas. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
SURVIVORS: Son, Loye C. Ruckman Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla.; daughters, Sandi Kiser of Odessa and Jana Chaffin of Amarillo; sister, Grace Miller of Plano; eight grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Niles Foster
ODESSA — Dr. Niles Reid Foster, 46, of Odessa, a podiatrist, died Monday, Aug. 18, 2003, at his residence.
Services were held Aug. 22, 2003, at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial was at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland. Arrangements were by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
He was a U.S. Marines veteran of the Vietnam War.
SURVIVORS: Father, Vincent Foster of Dallas; mother, Nelda M. Foster of Midland; and brother, Bruce Evan Foster of Midland.

ODESSA — Dr. Daniel Cepero, 43, died Tuesday, Nov. 25, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital.

ODESSA — Gordon Holcomb, 49, of Odessa, died Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003, at Regency Hospital.

ODESSA — Willie B. Reynolds, 82, of Odessa a retired tool pusher, died on Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, at Deering Nursing Home.

ANDREWS — Vaneta Tharp, 87, of Odessa, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2003, in Odessa.
Services are pending with McNett Funeral Home.

Olean Brookins
ANDREWS — Olean Hearne Brookins, 75, Andrews, died Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, at her residence.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Calvary Baptist Church in Andrews with the Revs. Willie Fields Natehaniel Hearne officiating. Burial will be at Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements are by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in Cass County and moved to Andrews in 1954 from McCamey.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Joseph Brookins of Andrews; sons, Rayfield Hearne of Austin, Natehaniel Hearne of Arlington and Kenneth Hearne of Andrews; daughters, Evelyn Fields of Bakersfield, Calif.; Mittie Smith, Gloria Hearne and Jacqueline Patterson, all of Andrews, and Deborah Green of Round Rock; sisters, Mandy Jones of Ceader Hill, Rose Hill of Atlanta and Elizabeth Grigsby of Dallas; 20 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.

Ruby Hardee
ANDREWS — Ruby Roberson Hardee, 79, of Andrews, a homemaker, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at the Cimarron House in Midland.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Ron Ellison officiating. Burial will be in the Andrews Old cemetery. Arrangements are by McNett Funeral Home of Andrews.
She was born in Clovis, N.M.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Jerry Lynn Crow of Andrews; son, Dennis Roy Hardee of Amarillo; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

McCAMEY — Jean T. Harris, 68, of McCamey, a homemaker, died on Thursday, Nov. 13, 2003, in the McCamey Hospital.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church in McCamey with Matt Jones officiating. Burial will be at the Resthaven cemetery. Arrangements are by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
She was born in Greenbrier, Ark. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Wayne Alaman of Sundown, David Alaman of Sonora and Terry Harris of Jacksboro; daughter, Diane Hodges of McCamey; brothers, Vernon Tucker of Crane and Billy Wayne Tucker of Gardendale; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren .

ODESSA — Hazel Faye Jones, 76, a homemaker, of Odessa, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at Hospice House.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Robert L. Bratacher officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
She was born in Coleman County.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Charlotte M. Holly of Magnolia; brother, J.T. Ray of Hobbs, N.M.; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

Jesus Nichols
PECOS — Jesus Martinez Nichols, 79, of Pecos, a homemaker, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital.
Rosary will be said 7:30 p.m. today at Peaceful Garden Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Santa Rosa Catholic Church. Burial will be at Greenwood cemetery. Arrangements are by Peaceful Garden Funeral Home.
She was born in Saragosa and was a life long resident of Pecos. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Carlos Nichols Jr. and Salvador Nichols, both of Pecos, and Hector Nichols of Odessa; daughters, Yolanda Garza of Mission, Gloria Baca, Dolores Nichols, Elva Vasquez, all of Pecos, Nicolasa Lerma, Lupe Nichols, Eva Martinez and Romona Molinar, all of Odessa; 35 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren.

Maria Rayos
PECOS — Maria M. Rayos, 69, of Pecos, a homemaker, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003, in Odessa at Medical Center Hospital of natural causes.
Mass was celebrated Friday at Santa Rosa Catholic Church. Arrangements are by Peaceful Garden Funeral Home.
She was born in Sweetwater. She was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Oscar Valenzuela of San Antonio; Hector Rayos of Odessa; Louis Rayos of Pecos; Michael Rayos, Lupe Rayos, Jesus Rayos and Willie Rayos, all of Midland; daughters, Lupe Ornelas of Odessa, Irma Rayos, Rachel Rayos Barreno and Criselda Rayos, all of Pecos and Ida Torres of Crane; brother, Martin Minjarez of Odessa; 35 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
