MONAHANS — Ismael Franco Sr., 51, of Monahans died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
Rosary will be said at 8 p.m. today at Heritage Funeral Chapel. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Catholic Church with the Rev. John Lucido officiating. Burial will be at the Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home.
He was born in Monahans. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Son, Ismael Franco Jr. of Odessa; daughter, Norma Rodriguez
of Monahans; parents, Raymundo and Sabina Franco of Monahans; brother, Ray Franco of Monahans; sisters, Ilda Polanco, Oralia Kinsey and Olga Franco, all of Monahans, Romelia Ward of Gardendale and Rita Alvis of Odessa; and three grandchildren.

Grace Pollard
FORT STOCKTON — Grace Dodd Pollard, 101, of Fort Stockton, a homemaker, died Monday, Sept. 1, 2003, in San Angelo.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Kevin Phillips and Larry Krueger officiating. Burial will be at East Hill cemetery. Arrangements are by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
She was born in Coleman County and was a longtime resident of Fort Stockton. She was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Son, Frank Pollard of San Angelo; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Tad Pope
CRANE — Tad Pope, 51, of Crane, a foreman for Circle H Construction, died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, at the Crane Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Crane County cemetery. Arrangements are by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.
He was born in Odessa and was a lifelong resident of Crane.
SURVIVORS: Son, Dustin Jonathan Pope of Odessa; daughter, Tara Danielle Pope of Odessa; and brother, W.F. “Biff” Pope of Carollton.

Maria Razo
FORT DAVIS — Maria Olivas Razo, 82, of Fort Davis died Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, at her residence.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph’s Catholic cemetery with the Rev. Mike Alcuino officiating. Arrangements are by Geeslin Funeral Home of Alpine.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Tiburcio Razo of Fort Davis; daughters, Enedina Ceniceros of Marfa and Mary Helen Black of Beaumont; sons, Adolfo Razo of Fort Davis and Richard Razo of El Paso; sisters, Nina Alvarada and Bitar Vela, both of Monahans, and Lila Matta of Balmorhea.

Gwendolyn Warren
ODESSA — Gwendolyn H. Warren, 73, of Odessa, a school bus driver, died Sunday, August 31, 2003, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Houston.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Mackey Chapel United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dennis Body officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements are by Odessa Funeral Home.
She was born in Brady and has lived in Odessa since 1949. She was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Frank Warren of Houston and Ronald Warren of Odessa; daughter, Betty Flax of Pearland; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Wanda Bryant
ODESSA — Wanda Faye Bryant, 67, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Monday, Dec. 1, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
She was born in Kermit.
SURVIVORS: Two sons, Eddie Bryant and John Bryant, both of Odessa; daughter, Linda Faye Bryant of Denver; sister, Joyce Bryant of Odessa; and seven grandchildren.

Jesse Garcia
ANDREWS — Jesse Parra Garcia, 59, of Midland, self-employed, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, in Odessa.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with the Rev. Bernard Gulley officiating. Burial will be at Andrews North cemetery. Arrangements are by Andrews Funeral Home.
He was born in Lamesa.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Johnny Garcia of Andrews and Freddy Garcia of Granbury; daughter, Melinda Ackers of Guin, Ala.; mother, Tilde Espino of Andrews; stepfather, Bonifacio Espino of Andrews; brothers, Manuel Garcia of Andrews, Danny Garcia of Midland and Ruben Garcia of Dallas; sisters, Lupe Lozano of Andrews and Adela Quiroz of Midland; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

ANDREWS — Robert Earl Menefee Sr., 67, of Andrews, former owner of Menefee Tire Service, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Wilson officiating. Burial will be at Andrews North cemetery. Arrangements are by McNett Funeral Home.
He was born in Nacogdoches. He was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Annie Mae Menefee of Andrews; son, Robert Menefee Jr. of Odessa; daughters, Melissa Green, Sharon Jones and Pearlie Mae Thomas, all of Lubbock, Doretta Menefee of San Diego and Brenda Menefee of Andrews; brother, Bill Menefee of Pasadena; sisters, Kathleen McBride of Lubbock, Golden Smith of Fort Worth, Claudia Cotton of Savannah, Ga., Georgia Smith of Galveston and Joyce Bean of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

FORT STOCKTON — Roy Ureta, 43, of Garland, regional trainer with Auto Zone, died Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2003, at Medical City Dallas Hospital after an illness.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Fort Stockton. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Burial will be at Fort Stockton Catholic cemetery. Arrangements are by Memorial Funeral Home.
He was born in Fort Stockton.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Annie Ureta of Garland; son, Joshua Ureta of Fort Stockton; daughters, Brittany Ureta of Garland and Lori Grothaus of Abilene; parents, Cosme and Sarah Ureta of Fort Stockton; and sisters, Rebecca Redfearn of Plano, Alma Ureta of San Antonio and Delma Defoor of Sachse.

Emma Barnard
TUSCOLA - Emma Rudder Barnard, 84, of Odessa, formerly of Dudley, a retired secretary for West Texas Utilities, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, in an Odessa hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Tuscola with the Rev. Alma Roberts officiating. Burial will be at Tuscola cemetery. Arrangements are by Fry-Bartlett Funeral Home.
She was born in Eastland. She worked in the Office of War Information in Washington, D.C., during World War II. She was a member of the First Church of God.
SURVIVORS: Brother, Earl Rudder of Alpine; and sister, Bessie Bownds of Odessa.

W. Christine Barnes
MONAHANS - W. Christine Barnes, 86, of Monahans, a banker, died Sunday, Dec. 28, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
Graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at Monahans Memorial cemetery with the Rev. Jeff Box officiating. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church. Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home.
She was born in West. She was Baptist.
SURVIVOR: Daughter, Karen Smith of San Angelo.

C.B. Burns
MONAHANS - C.B. 'Shorty' Burns, 93, of Monahans, a railroad clerk, died Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Todd Rush Chapel at Family Funeral Services with the Rev. Larry Bennett officiating. Burial will be at Monahans cemetery. Arrangements are by Family Funeral Services/Jackie Harkey.
He was born in Haynesville, La.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Mary L. Burns of Monahans; daughters, Melba Glassgow of Thatcher, Ariz., and Pam Barber of Mentone, Calif.; sister, Ruth Mallet of Stonewall, La.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Lillian DeWees
ODESSA - Lillian 'Bea' DeWees, 89, of Odessa, died Monday, Dec. 22, 2003, at Deerings Nursing Center.
Services were Dec. 29 at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements were by Odessa Funeral Home.
She was born in Zurich, Kan.
SURVIVORS: Son, Ronald DeWees of California; daughters, Cecilia Howell of Midland and Virginia Wagner of Moody; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
