ODESSA — Ceola Nelson, 76, of Odessa, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at Sienna Nursing Home in Odessa.
Services are pending with Martinez Funeral Home.

Lawanda Wagner
CRANE — Lawanda R. Wagner, 71, of Crane, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at her residence.
Services are pending with Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.

Gustavo Chavarria
ODESSA — Gustavo Chavarria Sr., 73, of Odessa died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004.
Mass will be at 2 p.m. today at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
He was born in Mexico.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Micaela Chavarria of Odessa; sons, Gustavo Chavarria Jr., Gerardo Chavarria, Armando Chavarria, Hugo Chavarria, Miguel Chavarria and Jose Natividad, all of Odessa; daughters, Yolanda Chavarria, Graciela Velasquez, Teresa Guzman and Maria Magnolia Nieto, all of Odessa; brother, Raul Chavarria of Durango, Mexico; sisters, Josefina Chavarria, Aurelia Chavarria, Rosa Chavarria and Luz Chavarria.

Delylah Hughes
ODESSA — Delylah “Lyla” Pearl Hughes, 81, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Monday, Jan. 19, 2004, in Odessa.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with John O’Guinn officiating. Arrangements are by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Home.
She was born in Eliasville. She was a member of the Living Church of God.
SURVIVORS: Son, Jerry C. Hughes of Odessa; daughter, Sue Norrid of Odessa; sister, Frances Williams of Surreal, Okla.; 11 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Gregorio Tarin
ODESSA — Gregorio Juarez Tarin, 86, of Odessa, a farmer, died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2004, at the Home Hospice House in Odessa.
Rosary will be said Wednesday in San Pedro, Chihuahua, Mexico. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Thursday at Iglesia Catolica de San Pedro, Chihuahua, Mexico. Burial will be at San Pedro cemetery. Arrangements are by Odessa Funeral Home.
He was born in Barstow. He was Christian Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Raul Tarin of Chihuahua, Mexico, Edgar Tarin of Midland and Ramiro Tarin of Odessa; daughters, Licha Orozco, Lidia Acosta, Dora M. Atienzo, all of El Paso, Josefina Gonzales, Manuela Tarin, Yolanda Munoz and Santos Tarin, all of Odessa; sister, Esperanza A. Tarin of Chihuahua, Mexico; 25 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Sharon Tidwell
ANDREWS — Sharon Tidwell, 60, of Midland, a 26-year employee of Midland Independent School District died Saturday, Jan. 17, 2004, at Hospice House in Midland.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McNett Funeral Home in Andrews with the Rev. Rick Doyle officiating. Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Carlsbad cemetery in Carlsbad, N.M. Arrangements are by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in Carlsbad, N.M., and moved to Midland in 1978.
SURVIVORS: Brothers, David Lawson of Andrews, Doug Lawson and Kenneth Lawson, both of Carlsbad, N.M., and John Lawson of Houston.

Chris Irwin
ANDREWS — Chris Irwin, 23, of Dublin, formerly of Andrews, a student at Tarleton State University in Stephenville, died Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, near Dublin. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the First Baptist Church with the Revs. Cory Ross and Trey Johnson officiating. Burial will be at Andrews North cemetery. Arrangements are by McNett Funeral Home.
He was born in Andrews.
SURVIVORS: Parents, Doug and Terry Irwin of Andrews; brother, Coy Hunter Irwin of Crane; and grandparents, Gene and Hattie Irwin, of Andrews, and Joyce and C.W. Mann Bailey, of Oxford, Fla.

Clyde Yarbrough
ODESSA — Clyde Wallace Yarbrough, 82, a civic engineer and businessman, died on Thursday, Nov. 20, 2003, after a brief illness.
Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are by Sunset Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home.
He was born in Clyde. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was the City Engineer for the City of Odessa in the 1940s.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Dan Yarbrough of Odessa and Keith Yarbrough of Odessa; daughter, Dianne Kluck of Dallas; brothers, Bill Yarbrough of Abilene, Carl Yarbrough of Clyde and Don Yarbrough of Levelland; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Heath Hamilton
ANDREWS — Heath Hamilton, 31, of Dublin, Texas, died on Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, near Dublin.
Services are pending with McNett Funeral Home.

Sue Burns
Sue Burns, 52, of Odessa died on Friday, Nov. 21, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services are pending with Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Rex Blessing
ROSWELL, N.M. — Rex Irwin Blessing, 76, of Odessa, a retired mechanic, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at his residence.
Memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Bethel Baptist Church in Roswell. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home of Odessa.
He was born in Moore, Okla. He was a U.S. Navy veteran.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Van Blessing of Roswell, James A. Blessing of Colorado City, David Blessing of Renton, Wash., and Rex Allen Blessing of Odessa; daughter, Pam Cannon of Roswell; and sisters, Erma Southerland, Nina Hutchens and Emma Hudgins, all of Oklahoma.

Mary Odom
STANTON — Mary “Gladys” Odom, 92, of Stanton, a former owner of a trucking company, died Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2003, in a Stanton hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Stanton with the Rev. Waymon Swopes officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen cemetery. Arrangements by Gilbreath Funeral Home of Stanton.
She was born in Saint Augustine County. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Velma Dean McMillan of Stanton; brother, Henry Minton of Odessa; sisters, Artelia Turner of San Angelo and Ruby Ridgway of Richardson; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Billie Pilgrim
ANDREWS — Billie Pilgrim, 80, a registered nurse of Andrews, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2003, at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.
Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. Friday in the Andrews North cemetery with the Rev. John McQueen officiating. Arrangements are by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in Del Rio. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Son, Jon Pilgrim of Kempner; daughters, Nancy Wilcox and Sharon Roberts, both of Andrews; brother, Charlie Peoples of Crane; sister, Wilma Williams of Sabinal; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

ODESSA — Mary Etta Simmons, 77, of Bradenton, Fla., a homemaker, died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2003, in Odessa.
No services are planned. Arrangements are by Memorial Services Chapa Funeral Home.
She was born in Maine.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Patrick Conners of Bradenton, Fla., Michael Conners of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Lester Conners of Las Vegas.

Harlan Speidel
WHARTON — Harlan Richard Speidel, 56, of Wharton, formerly of Monahans, an educator for Wharton Independent School District, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2003, at a Wharton Hospital following a sudden illness.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Wharton Funeral Home Chapel. Masonic graveside services will be at Evergreen Memorial Park cemetery. Arrangements are by Wharton Funeral Home.
He was born in Great Bend, Kan. He was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Barbara Speidel of Wharton; mother, Doris Speidel of Temple; and brother, Durwin Speidel of Houston.
