Lillie Funderburk
FORT STOCKTON — Lillie E. Funderburk, 84, of Fort Stockton, a retired school nurse, died Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2003, in Fort Stockton.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Wall officiating. Burial will be at East Hill cemetery. Arrangements are by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
She was born in Mount Pleasant and moved to Fort Stockton in 1967. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Husband, J.O. Funderburk of Fort Stockton; daughters, Debbie Seigmund and Patty Eshom, both of Midland; brothers, James Barham of Weatherford, Orville Barham of Midlothian and William Barham of Sandia; and two grandchildren.

Alberta Kirby
KERMIT — Alberta M. Kirby, 80, of Arlington, a retired office clerk of El Paso Natural Gas, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, in Denton.
Graveside services will be at noon Friday at the Kermit cemetery with the Rev. Eric Black officiating. Arrangements are by Cooper Funeral Chapel.
She was born in Oilton, Okla., and lived in Kermit for 43 years.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Marilyn McDonald of Aubrey; sisters, Colene Oloffo and Betty Nix, both of Tecumseh, Okla.; one grandchild; and one great-great-grandchild.

Susie Miller
BRECKENRIDGE — Susie Ray Miller, 96, of Breckenridge, former owner and operator of Treasure Trove in Odessa, died Thursday, Oct. 2, 2003, at Villa Haven Nursing Center.
Graveside services were held Sunday at the Breckenridge cemetery. Arrangements were by Morehart Mortuary.
She was born in Mount Pleasant. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Sister, Vera Watts of Longview.

Pablo Rubio Sr.
MARFA — Pablo C. Rubio Sr., 94, of Marfa, a construction worker, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, at his residence.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at the church with the Rev. Mike Alcuino officiating. Arrangements are by Memorial Funeral Home of Marfa.
He was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Guadalupe Rubio of Marfa; daughters, Mary Lou R. Ramirez and Delfina Plasentillo, both of Marfa; sons, Pablo Rubio Jr. and Cleto Rubio, both of Marfa, and Willie Rubio of El Paso; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Bobbie Thurman
ODESSA — Bobbie Gayle Thurman, 48, an oilfield worker, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2003.
Graveside services were Tuesday at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements were by Odessa Funeral Home.
He was born in Biloxi, Miss.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Nathan Don Thurman of Sequin and Lucas Thurman of Robert Lee; daughters, Stephanie Wyatt Thurman of Dallas and Amanda Thurman of Robert Lee; parents, John and Virginia Self of Odessa; and grandmother, Margaret Wyatt Speckles of Odessa.

Maurice Williams
LAMESA — Maurice Williams, 74, of Lamesa, former owner and operator of Williams Auto Repair, died Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, at his residence.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Branon Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Nathan McBride and James Bridges officiating. Burial will be at Lamesa Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Branon Funeral Home.
He was born in Lamesa.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Ruthie Corrinea Williams of Lamesa; daughters, Donna Kay Williams of Richardson, Linda Diane Hill, Cynthia Marie Israel and Brenda Jean Williams, all of Odessa; brothers, Trellis Williams of Yuba City, Calif., and D. M. Williams of Longboat Key, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Roosevelt Covington
MONAHANS — Roosevelt Covington, 75, of Monahans died Monday, Oct. 6, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services are pending with Heritage Funeral Home.

Juan Dominguez
FORT STOCKTON — Juan Dominguez, 76, of Fort Stockton, a boxing coach, died Sunday, Oct. 19, 2003, in Fort Stockton.
Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. David Herrera officiating. Burial will follow in the Catholic Community cemetery. Arrangements by Memorial Funeral Home.
He was born in Fort Stockton and was a U.S. Army during WWII and the Korean War. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Consuelo G. Hernandez; daughters, Consuelo H. Villarreal, Violeta H. Rios and Yolanda H. Chaves all of Fort Stockton; brother, Willie D. Hernandez of Fort Stockton; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Gladys Foster
ODESSA — Gladys E. Foster, 84, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, at Seabury Nursing Center.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. at the Lubbock City cemetery. Arrangements by Odessa Funeral Home.
She was born in Omaha.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Marilyn E Feemster, Sue Struck, and Jeanie Struck all of Odessa, Sandra Kay Newell of Lubbock and Betty Ann Mayes of Zephur; sister, Georgia Lee Gibson of Dallas, 12 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.

Cruz Jaquez
MONAHANS — Cruz Jaquez, 66, of Monahans, a general laborer, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, at Ward Memorial Hospital.
Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Catholic Church with the Rev. John Lucido officiating. Burial will be in Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Heritage Funeral Home.
He was born in Grandfalls and was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Brothers, Lupe Molina of Odessa and Pedro Jaquez of Monahans; sisters, Juanita Palafox of Fresno, Calif., and Refugia Contreras of Monahans.

Kathryn York
ODESSA — Kathryn York, 50, of Odessa, a former AFDC financial worker for the State of Texas, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, at her residence after a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today with the Rev. Johnny Young officiating. Burial will follow in Cisco cemetery. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Fort Worth and moved to Odessa at the age of three. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Steve York of Odessa; sons, Jacob York of Grapevine and Adam York of Odessa.

Petra Velasquez
FORT STOCKTON — Petra Gomez Velasquez, 89, of Lubbock, a homemaker, died Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, in Lubbock.
Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Fort Stockton Catholic cemetery. Arrangements by Fort Stockton Funeral Home.
She was born in Fort Stockton and moved to Kermit in 1962 and to Lubbock in 1983.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Gerardo (Lalito) Velasquez of Odessa, Joe Del Velasquez of Lubbock; daughters, Francisca Viola Acosta of Dallas, Adelaida Dominguez of Midland, Yolanda Mendez of Lubbock; brother, Sabino Gomez of Fort Stockton; sisters, Jesusita Gomez and Sarah Gomez; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

ANDREWS — LeRoy Burris, 78, of Andrews, died Saturday, Oct. 18, 2003, in Andrews.
