William Talley
ALPINE — William Duff Talley, 78, of Alpine, a former partner of Talley-Reed Insurance Co. in Alpine, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2003, at a Alpine hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at University Baptist Church with the Rev. David Pate officiating. Military graveside will be at Elm Grove cemetery. Arrangements are by Geeslin Funeral Home.
He was born in Shep and had lived in Alpine for 37 years. He was Baptist. He was an Army veteran of World War II.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Anny Talley of Alpine; son, Mikel Duff Talley of Texas; sister, Crystel Walker of Houston; brothers, Carl Raymond Talley of Shep and Carlos Rueben Talley of Abilene; and two grandsons.

ODESSA — Dorothy Wanda Hutchison, 77, of Odessa, died Monday, Oct. 20, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services are pending with Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Bobby Sawyers
ODESSA — Bobby Joe Sawyers, 39, of Odessa, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services are pending with Odessa Funeral Home.

Mary Russell
Mary Ruth Russell, 84, of Odessa, died Tuesday, Oct. 21, 2003, at her residence.
Services are pending with Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Pomposa Carrera
PRESIDIO - Pomposa C. Carrera, 88, of Presidio, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at an El Paso medical center.
Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Santa Teresa de Jesus Catholic Church with the Rev. Lazaro Gonzales Trejo officiating. Burial will be at Desert Hills cemetery. Arrangements are by Memorial Funeral Home of Marfa.
She was born in Adobes.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Margie Nunez of El Paso; son, Enrique Carrera of Odessa; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Betty Croft
ROSCOE - Betty Jo Croft, 68, of Barstow, a dietary supervisor, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Pecos Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Roscoe cemetery in Roscoe with J. R. Wooten officiating. Arrangements are by Pecos Funeral Home.
She was born in Dallas.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Clifford Croft of Barstow; son, Robert Parsons of Big Spring; daughter, Kathy Hogg of Big Spring; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Carlton Lyles
BRANDON, Miss. - Carlton Wayne Lyles, 74, of Ridgeland, Miss., a retired employee of Borden Milk Co., died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Hospice Ministries in Ridgeland.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, Miss. Burial will be at Lakeland Place cemetery. Arrangements are by Ott & Lee Funeral Home.
He was born in Brownfield and had lived in Rankin County and in Odessa. He was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church and a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Carole Lyles of Brandon; daughter, Dawn Deshotel of San Antonio; sons, Billy Lyles, Terry Lyles and Kevin Lyles, all of Austin, Russ Pounds of Dallas and Gary Pounds of Houston; sister, Wanda Delaney of Odessa; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Robert Muncy
ODESSA - Robert “Bob” Muncy, 72, of Odessa, owner of Bob Muncy Welding & Construction, died Friday, March 26, 2004, at his residence.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Belmont Baptist Church. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Amarillo and was a longtime resident of Odessa. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
SURVIVORS: Son, Tommy Muncy of Odessa; and seven grandchildren.

Janice Putnam
ODESSA - Janice B. Putnam, 87, of Odessa, a retired nurse, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Deerings Nursing Home.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Mark Scott officiating. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Dallas and was a longtime resident of Odessa. She was a member of Highland United Methodist Church.
SURVIVORS: None listed.

James Ratcliff
ALPINE - James E. Ratcliff, 54, of Alpine, an employee of the Appraisal District at the Tax Office, died Wednesday, March 24, 2004, at Big Bend Regional Hospital.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Sunday at the Geeslin Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are by Geeslin Funeral Home.
He was born in Worland, Wyo.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Denise Ratcliff of Alpine; daughter, Raine Ratcliff of Dallas; son, Joshua Ratcliff of Alpine; and sister, Bevera Williams of Fort Davis.

Jimmy Rhodes
LAMPASAS - Jimmy Lynn Rhodes, 52, of Lampasas, a roofer, died Thursday, March 25, 2004, at Rolling Brooks Hospital.
Memorial services were at 4 p.m. March 26 at the Community Church with Reid Schaub and Danny Rodgers officiating. Arrangements were by Briggs-Gamel-Wilcox Funeral Home.
He was born in Pampa and moved to Lampasas from Odessa. He had served in the Army.
SURVIVORS: Son, Jimmy Don Rhodes of Waco; daughters, Marci Coe of San Antonio, Donette Rhodes and Sandra Rhodes, both of Hondo; parents, Jimmie D. and Geneva Cassity Rhodes of Odessa; brothers, Danny Rogers of Seagoville and Gary “Donny” Rogers of Odessa; sisters, Marilyn Yost of Odessa and Kim Chaney of Midland; and five grandchildren.

GRAND PRAIRIE - James “Roy” Robbins, 84, of Grand Prairie, a retired 1st Sergeant of the Army, died Tuesday, March 23, 2004, in DeSoto.
Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Monday at Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home. Burial will be at the DFW National cemetery in Dallas. Arrangements are by Guerrero-Dean Funeral Home.
He was born in El Centro, Calif.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Donald Robbins of Adna, Wash., Robert Clark of Willis, William Daniel Clark of Sierra Vista, Ariz., James Robbins of Kingsland, Michael Robbins of Wimberly and Paul Bier of Grand Prairie; brother, Oscar Robbins of Logandale, Nev.; sisters, Kathern Hodges of Odessa and Dorothy Young of Westville, Okla.; 16 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Services will be at 10 a.m. at the church with the Rev. David Herrera officiating. Burial will be at the Fort Stockton Catholic cemetery. Arrangements are by Memorial Funeral Home.
She was born in Fort Stockton.
SURVIVORS: Son, Tony R. Vargas of Fort Stockton; daughters, Diane Bennett and Barbara Vargas, both of Fort Stockton; brother, Rodolfo G. Rodriguez of Carlsbad, N.M.; sister, Cecilia R. Molina of Odessa; and five grandchildren.

ODESSA - Rhonda Gayle Williams, 42, of Odessa died Friday, March 26, 2004, at her residence.

She was born in Lusk, Wyo., and was a longtime resident of Odessa.
