Howard Bell
MINERAL WELLS -- Howard Bell, 71, of Mineral Wells, a retired oil field worker and carpenter, died Monday, Jan. 26, 1998, at South Austin Hospital.
No services will be held. Arrangements by Harrell Funeral Home of Austin.
He was born in Belin, N.M., and moved to Mineral Wells from Odessa.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Thelma Bell of Odessa; daughters, Libbie Lynch of Odessa and Lexie White of Austin; brother, Lowell Bell of Vista, Calif.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Rogelio Brito
MONAHANS -- Rogelio "RoyBrito, 22, a maintenance technician with Plastic Molding Co., died Thursday, Friday, Feb. 5, 1998, at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center in Midland.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Harkey Funeral Chapel in Monahans. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Johns Catholic Church with the Rev. John Lucido officiating. Burial will be at Monahans Memorial cemetery. Arrangements by Harkey Funeral Home.
He was born in Ojinaga, Mexico, and was a longtime resident of Monahans. He was Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Luna Brito of Monahans; parents, Lazaro and Ludmila Brito of Monahans; brothers, Lazaro Brito Jr. and Omar Brito, both of Odessa, Jaime Brito of San Antonio and Martin Brito of Monahans; sisters, Bahola Garcia of Big Spring and Oneida Brito and Nohelia Brito, both of Monahans; and grandmother, Juanita Gallegos of Odessa.
Henry Gray
MIDLAND -- Henry Gray, 89, a retired employee of Palmer Pipe and Supply, died Friday, Feb. 6, 1998, in Midland.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland with the Rev. C. Lane Boyd officiating. Arrangements by Ellis Funeral Home.
He was born in Ada, Okla., and had been a resident of Midland for 30 years. He was an Army veteran of World War II and Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Berdean Rains Stephenson Gray of Midland; stepsons, Don Stephenson of Houston, Rod Stephenson and Ronnie Stephenson, both of Midland; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Nicky Hahn
ODESSA -- Nicky Dewain Hahn, 61, a maintenance engineer with the Texas Department of Transportation and part-time professor at Odessa College, died Friday, Feb. 6, 1998, at Medical Center Hospital.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Lutheran Church of the Risen Lord with the Rev. Preston Weathers and James Otterness officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
He was born in Bracketville and had been a resident of Odessa since 1960. He was Lutheran.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Jhynelda Hahn of Odessa; sons, Charles D. Hahn of Vicksburg, Miss., and J. Richard Hahn of Fort Stockton; mother, Eloise Hahn of Temple; brother, Buddie Jo Hahn of Orange; and five grandchildren.
Irene Harder
ODESSA -- Irene Dunafan Harder, 87, a retired teacher, died Friday, Feb. 6, 1998, at Seabury Nursing Home.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Young officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Frisco and was a longtime resident of Odessa. She was Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Stepson, Jack Simmons of Boerne; stepdaughter, Sherry Couzens of Meadow Valley, Calif.; and nine grandchildren.
Hilda Nixon
ODESSA -- Hilda A. Nixon, 94, a homemaker, died Friday, Feb. 6, 1998, at Northwood Health Care Center in Burnet.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
She was born in Moran and had been a resident of Odessa since 1975. She was Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Son, L.A. Nixon of Burnet; sister, Berttie McKee of Eula; two grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Mattie Smith
MULESHOE -- Mattie E. Smith, 88, a homemaker, died Saturday, Feb. 7, 1998, at Permian General Hospital in Andrews.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Muleshoe Church of Christ with John Knox officiating. Burial will be at Muleshoe cemetery. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home.
She was born in Harrison, Ark., and had been a resident of Muleshoe since 1947. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
SURVIVORS: Son, B.J. Smith of Andrews; daughter, Vaughneda Shough of Melrose, N.M.; sister, Dalhney Kyle of Springdale, Ark.; nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
