MARFA — James Alfred Roosevelt, 83, of Marfa, died Saturday, July 10, 2004, at William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church of Marfa. Arrangements are by Mt. Franklin Funeral Home of El Paso.
He was born in New York City, N.Y. He was a Baptist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Sharon Roosevelt of Marfa; sons, Kean Roosevelt, Scott Roosevelt and Emlen Roosevelt; daughters, Caroline Runge and Susan Bearden; brother, Pete Roosevelt; and sisters, Virginia Armentrout and Elizabeth Roosevelt.

John Hartman
KERMIT — John Paul “J.P.” Hartman, 27, of Kermit, a roughneck, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, in Kermit.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Family Services Funeral Chapel in Kermit. Burial will be at Kermit cemetery. Arrangements are by Family Services Funeral Parlor.
He was born in El Paso.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Heather Hartman; sons, Lee Hartman, Christian Hartman and Zachary Hartman, all of Kermit; brother, Jason Bliss of Kermit, sisters, Angel Partain of Kermit and Melissa Roberts of Snyder; parents, Arnold Roy Hartman of Alaska and Marci and Jimmy Bliss of Kermit; grandparents, Joe and Maria Valerio of El Paso, Doug and Martha Ford of N.J., Ruby Bliss of Kermit and Andy and Betty Partain of Kermit; and stepfather, Lee Partain of Kermit.

Amparo Espino Ortiz
ODESSA — Amparo Espino Ortiz, 73, of Odessa, a homemaker, died Monday, June 14, 2004, at Medical Center Hospital.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today at Odessa Funeral Home Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Gilbert Rodriguez officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements are by Odessa Funeral Home.
She was born in San Felipe, Durango Mexico. She was a Christian Catholic.
SURVIVORS: Son, Benjamin Ortiz of Odessa; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Bonnie Meroney
ODESSA — Bonnie Lee Meroney, 73, of Odessa, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at Hospice House.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
She was born in Mason, Mich.
SURVIVORS: Husband, Eddie Meroney of Odessa; son, Steve Maniez of New Braunfels; daughters, Debra Halpain of Marble Falls and Jody Grizzard of Odessa; father, Robert Reeser of Sebastian, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Jesus Navarrete
ODESSA — Jesus Maria Navarrete, 78, of Odessa, died Monday, June 17, 2004, in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. today at Martinez Funeral Home. Mass will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Joe Uecker officiating. Burial will be at Rose Hill cemetery. Arrangements are by Martinez Funeral Home.
He was born in Cuchillo Parado, Chihuahua, Mexico.
SURVIVORS: Sons, Manuel Navarrete of Odessa and Jesus Navarrete of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico; daughters, Juana Navarrete of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mex ico, Jesusita Baeza of Presidio, and Maria Ignacia Navarrete, Amada Alcanta, Martina Navarrete, Carmen Navarrete and Maria de Rosario Arsiaga, all of Odessa; 29 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Mildred Webb
BALLINGER — Mildred Parker Webb, 60, of Odessa, a retired cleaning service owner and operator, died Monday, June 14, 2004, at her residence.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Old Runnels cemetery. Arrangements are by Rains-Seale Funeral Home.
She was born in Ballinger.
SURVIVORS: Daughters, Sandra Stoker Thadiz of Ballinger, Sherry Sargent of Houston and Melissa Webb of San Antonio; and sisters, Virginia Redman of Odessa, Maudie Rountree of San Angelo and Margarette Smith and Linda Parker, both of Ballinger.

David Floyd Harp
ALPINE — David E. Floyd-Harp, 51, of Alpine, died Monday, June 21, 2004, at Big Bend Regional Medical Center.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. today at First United Methodist Church. Burial will be at Abernathy cemetery. Arrangements are by Geeslin Funeral Home.
He was born in Lubbock. He was a Methodist.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Phyllis Floyd-Harp of Alpine; daughter, Shirley Harp of Wichita Falls; son, Michael Harp of Seattle, Wash.; brother, Daryl Harp of Knoxville; sister, Carol Norman of Plano; parents, Elbert and Clara Harp of Abernathy, and Marvin and Jerry Floyd of County Line.

ODESSA — Neal Hilliard, 71, of Odessa, died Tuesday, June 22, 2004, in an Odessa hospital.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Griffin Jones officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Sunset Funeral Home.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Billie Hilliard of Odessa; sons, Gary Hilliard of Iowa Park and Monty Hilliard of Lubbock; daughter, Karen Watkins of Odessa; brothers, Charles Wayne of Atlanta, Texas, and Don Hilliard of Denver City; sister, Jean Boethel of Bivins; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

ODESSA — Edwin Sidney Martin Jr., 91, of Odessa, a retired engineer, died Saturday, June 19, 2004, at his residence.

He was born in Ector County. He served in the Army.

Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with the Rev. David Newton officiating. Arrangements are by Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
She was born in Center.
SURVIVORS: Daughter, Claudette Welch of Odessa; sister, Maxine Stephens of Moore, Okla.; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

ODESSA — Mildred Annalee Martin, 84, of Odessa, died Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at Parks Methodist Retirement Center.

MIDLAND — Shelia Green, 55, of Andrews, a cafeteria manager for the Andrews Independent School District, died Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at Alliance Hospital.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Kelview Heights Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerry Berry officiating. Burial will be at Coahoma cemetery in Coahoma. Arrangements are by McNett Funeral Home of Andrews.
She was born in Midland.
