Steve Kelley

ODESSA — In Loving Memory of Steve Kelley.
Steve Wayne Kelley, of Odessa, departed this world on Feb. 6, 2004. He was 46.
Services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at the Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors Chapel, with the Rev Jeff Cleere officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Steve was born March 7, 1957, in Odessa to R.C. and Lillie Mae Kelley. He was a lifelong Odessa resident. Steve attended Ector Junior/Senior High and graduated from Odessa High. He then went on to become an electrician.
Although his time on this earth was short, Steve thoroughly enjoyed the company of his family and friends. Steve was a loving son, brother and companion who will be missed greatly. He will now be free of pain and suffering and is in a much more peaceful place. His family will be comforted by their many fond memories of Stevie, such as his many unusual pets and various activities as a child.
Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Lillie Mae, who is now waiting to receive him with open arms.
Steve will be greatly missed by his longtime friend and caregiver, Pat Benthin; his father, R.C. Kelley and wife Doris of Gadsden, Ala.; brother, Quinton Kelley and wife Pat of Odessa; sister, Barbara Long and husband Mickey of Odessa; many aunts and uncles; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and great-great-nieces.
Pallbearers will be Mark Walker, Brian Long, Michael Long, Troy Kelley, Gary Arp and Charles Duke.
Services entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.

Judith Ann Longino

ODESSA — Our beloved wife, mother and Grammie went to be with the Lord on Feb. 7, 2004.
She was a source of strength and inspiration to all who knew her throughout her life and her battle with cancer. With her courage, she taught all of those who knew her the meaning of trusting Jesus Christ during any trial.
She was born Judith Ann Miller on Aug. 4, 1946, in Houston, Texas. She grew up in Crosby, Texas, and moved to Odessa in 1961. She graduated from OHS in 1964 and married Jimmy Longino on April 16, 1966.
She was involved in many Bible Studies over the years and was a member of Central Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, but most of all, her grandkids. No matter how sick she felt she was always at the grandkids’ events with a smile on her face.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Jimmy; her daughter, Julie Salmon and husband Tommy Salmon Jr. and their family, Crystal, Mike, Lauren, Melanie, McCain, Tanner and Kambri, all of Odessa; her son, Jeff Longino and wife Rebecca and their children, Ryan, Logan and Jackson, all of Odessa; her sister, Sandra Kratky of West Columbia, Texas; her brother, Hardy Miller of Deer Park, Texas; her mother, Dorothy Burnett and her mother-in-law, Dean Longino, both of Odessa.
Her father, Hardy Miller; and father-in-law, Web Longino, preceded her in death.
There will be a visitation from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.
There will be a memorial service held in her honor at 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at First Baptist Church with David Johnson officiating.
If preferred, donation to the Allison Cancer Center or Home Hospice may be given in lieu of flowers.

Jessica Joann Lucas

ODESSA — Jessica Joann Lucas, 25, of Odessa, passed away Thursday, Feb. 5, 2004, in Odessa.
She was born Nov. 1, 1978, in Ector County. She was a homemaker and a member of Terrace Hills Baptist Church.
She is survived by her son, Jordon Alvarez Merritt of Odessa; daughter, Summer Dawn Alvarez of Odessa; parents, Rocky Lucas and Mary Alvarez, both of Odessa; grandparents, Charlie Culpepper of Odessa and Endia Alvarez of Balmorhea; stepfather, Ron Rickman; fiancé, Kenneth Merritt of San Angelo; brothers, Tommy Allred of Odessa and David M. Wright of Balmorhea; and sister, Christina Perkins Kirk of Georgia.
There will be a visitation from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Hubbard-kelly Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at Rose Hill cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Mary Ellice Cross

ODESSA — Mary Ellice Cross, 69, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at the Hospice House. She was born March 6, 1935 to Walter and Ann Neves in Roby. She was a bartender for 15 years. Her last job was at Midland International Airport.
She is survived by her sons, Lloyd Ray Cross and Daryl Cross both of Odessa, Joe Ellis Cross of Vista, Calif., daughter, Lisa Blanchard and husband Chris of Odessa, brother, Joe Neves and wife Jean of Lubbock, sister, Sue Wortham of Snyder, five grandchildren, LaShae Cross, Brandon Hollingsworth, Kyle Blanchard all of Odessa, Chris Cross of Vista, Calif., and Austin Cross of Ruidoso, N.M.; and one great-grandchild, Bryndee Hart.
Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2004 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel with Cynthia Mobley officiating.
Memorials may be made to Home Hospice.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Billy C. Flowers

ODESSA — Billy C. Flowers, 49, of Odessa left this world on May 6, 2004, in Odessa. He was born on October 18, 1954 in Odessa.
Billy earned his way though life as a roughneck and a plumber for Leonard Wiese, his boss and good friend. His favorite past time was tending to his birds that he called his babies.
Billy is preceded in death by his Dad, Earl Wayne Flowers. Billy was very much loved and will be deeply missed.
Graveside service will be held on Monday, May 10, 2004, at Sunset Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Charles Tapley officiating. Family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday May 9, 2004, at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.
Billy is survived by wife Barbara of Odessa; Son Billy Ray Wells and wife Pam of Odessa; mother Roberta Bradley and husband James of Fort Worth; sister, Charlotte Flowers Hokett and husband Charles of Fort Worth; brother Ray Wayne Flowers of Fort Worth; numerous nieces and nephews and five great-nieces and nephews and friends Barbara and Leonard Wiese of Odessa.
Services are entrusted to Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Maude Lee Justice

ODESSA — The Angels in Heaven prepared a homecoming for her at 7 a.m. on May 8, 2004, and the table was set for her. The Lord welcomed her with out-stretched hands and said, “Welcome Home, Dear Lady.” No more tears or suffering, just the pleasures that He had waiting for her. Dad was there to greet her, also. There was a joyous time in Heaven.
Maudie was born December 7, 1909, to Jesse E. and Lou Emma Rhodes in Latham, Miss. She shared the pleasure of a good childhood with three brothers and three sisters. All are gone to be with the Lord except one sister, Texie Hilyer, of Salem, Ore.
She married the love of her life, Fred Burrell Justice on March 16, 1930, in Pawnee, Okla. They had many happy years together. Dad would go to a job in other states and if he was going to be there awhile, he would call her and say, “Momma, load up the sewing machine and come on.” She liked to sew for her grandchildren.
She was a life member of the Rebekahs and served in state offices and really enjoyed that time. She and dad enjoyed traveling and did quite a bit until they couldn’t go anymore. She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred B. Justice, and one great-granddaughter, Amanda Dawn Justice.
She is survived by her son, Gene Justice and wife, Hope, of Odessa; granddaughters, Deborah and Terry Adolph of Chadwick, Ill.; Darla Habben of Sterling, Ill.; Marla Kay of Pekin, Ill.; grandsons, David Gene Justice and wife, Marie Justice of Texarkana; Daniel Justice and wife, Gwen, of Dixon, Ill.; David John Justice and wife, Marylas, of Morrison, Ill.; step-grandchildren, April and Scotty Falkner of China Spring; Brad and Mary Barton of Stinnett; fifteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, and special family friend, Sharon Justice of Big Spring.
Funeral services are scheduled for 3 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2004, at Northside Baptist Church, with Rev. Clydel Chapman officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

‘Pat’ Buford Freelon Patterson

ODESSA — “Pat” Buford Freelon Patterson, age 78, passed away Friday, May 7, 2004, at his residence in Odessa.
He was born June 3, 1925, to Buford D. and Flossie Patterson, in Chester County, Tenn. He married Mary Genetta Stanfill on January 22, 1946, in Corinth, Miss., later moving to Odessa in 1955 from Tennessee.
He was a manager in the body shop at Sloan Brothers Buick before retiring.
He was a loving Christian husband, father, and grandfather. He was a Protestant.
He was in the U.S. Army and served during World War II. He was a local and state president of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, a 32nd Degree Mason, a lifetime member of VFW, a Lions Club Volunteer and a baseball coach for Little League through the American Legion League.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Patterson of Odessa; sons, Byron F. Patterson and wife, Pam, of Gardendale; and Donald L. Patterson and wife, Traci, of Venus; daughter, Deborah K. Goldie and husband, Thomas J. S. Goldie, of Spicewood; brothers, Milburn “Jim” and wife, Ramelle Patterson, of Decater, Ala.; Hulon and wife, Fay, Patterson, of Jackson, Tenn.; Frank and wife, Lottie, Patterson of Decater, Miss.; sisters, Bonnie and Frank Howard of Chappel Hill, Tenn.; and Thelma and Howard Justice of Dothan, Ala.; nine grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 9, 2004, at Hubbard-Kelly.
Services are scheduled for 4 p.m. Monday, May 10, 2004, at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Doug Herget officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Services are entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Billie Marie Davidson Schefers

KENAI, ALASKA — Billie Marie Davidson Schefers, 37, of Kenai, Alaska, passed away May 4, 2004 following a lengthy illness.
Billie Marie was born to Jimmy and Kathy Johnson Davidson on December 30, 1966 in Wilberton, Okla. The family returned to Odessa when Billie Marie was about two months old. She attended Sam Houston Elementary school in Odessa, then the family moved to Anchorage, Alaska. She completed her education there, being very active in basketball and baseball, and was an elected cheerleader. Following high school graduation Billie Marie attended business college. Billie Marie loved flowers and gardening, and excelled in ice skating and horseback riding.
She married Steve Schefers in 1987.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathy Johnson Davidson Zak; a son, Michael; her grandfather, Albert Johnson; and her aunt, Eunice Mobley.
She is survived by her father Jimmy Davidson of Washington, a daughter, Chantal Schefers of Alaska, sisters Jamie Davidson and Katrina and Elizabeth Zak, all of California; grandmother, Billie Johnson of Odessa; aunts Joy Johnson, Alberta Hodgson and husband Frank, of Odessa, Billie Gayle Gutherie and husband Richard of Florida. Also cousins Calvin Mobley of Odessa, Brandy Mobley Dodson of Oklahoma, Vallie Hodgson and Frankie Hodgson Justice both of Odessa.
Memorial services will be at a later date.
